I haven’t been posting the photos we’ve gotten from the New York set of Ocean’s Eight, the all-lady update of Ocean’s Eleven. The cast is pretty great: Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock are the “Clooney & Pitt” of the crew, and they’re being helped by Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson and Rihanna. Reportedly, Matt Damon (OG Ocean’s cast member) will have a cameo. And I think Damien Lewis might be the bad guy? Anyway, I’m looking forward to it and I’m enjoying the set photos, especially with Cate Blanchett’s rocker-chick look. But since it’s a big group of women, you just know that people are going to try to make it into a catfight. Look, it’s already started!
They’re the Hollywood heavyweights who started filming Ocean’s Eight just a few weeks ago. But Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway are reportedly ‘butting heads’ on set of the all-female reboot of the popular movie franchise.
‘Cate’s very laid back and easygoing, but Anne’s rubbing her the wrong way,’ an insider told Woman’s Day magazine. ‘They had a few angry words and didn’t speak for a few days. Now they’re trying to keep things cordial… but it’s difficult to say the least.’
According to the magazine, Anne, 34, is also clashing with other members of the star studded cast, which includes Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Dakota Fanning and Rihanna. Daily Mail Australia has approached Cate and Anne’s respective representatives for comment.
Out of that group, would you choose Anne Hathaway and Blanchett as the potential beef? I would not. I feel like we, as a society, are primed to believe anything about Anne Hathaway, especially if it’s about her being extra, or prissy, or annoying. But within that group, I wouldn’t say that I would have predicted an alleged beef between Cate and Anne. Cate seems like she would mother-hen the younger actresses more than anything else. Now, Sandra and Anne? Perhaps. Considering the original source for this was Woman’s Day, all of it probably crap. That’s what Hathaway’s rep says! He denied this story flat-out. Blanchett’s rep did not!

Rihanna is so god damn beautiful. Ya I can see Anne and sandy beefing before her and Cate. I can’t wait to see this movie such a great cast.
But why would Anne and Sandra beef?
I think Anne would be too sweet and prissy for Sandy’s offcolour sense of humour. Maybe they get on great they’re both professionals, but if I had to guess who wouldn’t get along out of that cast, those two get my vote.
I will watch anything with Sandra Bullock! And Kate Of course! The rest of the cast can be whatever

Why does Blanchett’s p.r. rep have to deny to make it what it likely is – which is b.s. It’s hardly important to the making of the film and it’s never been her style to react to any gossip that appears in the press.

Rihanna is gorgeous. Cate and Hathaway denied feuding rumors, but come on, has Anne ever worked with someone where there wasn’t tension. Minus her, I love the cast and it should be interesting. Rihanna is worth the price of admission. She is also going to have Janet Leigh’s role in the last season of Bates Motel. She’s come a long way from Barbados. Love RiRi
There’s no beef,they all were at a bar in NY last week. It was Anne’s birthday last week and they were all there,rihanna provided Cristal,it was amazing!!! Rihanna is so down to earth and funny on set,love her.

I really like AnnE Hathaway now. We are theatre geeks, work in theatre, and constantly surrounded by theatre geeks-in-training. Once I put AnnE into that category she grew on me immensely, but I absolutely get that it would grate on a lot of people.
Cate can stay away still for all I care. No Woman Power from a paedophile apologist, thanks.

Another article said Cate was duped by Anne ex (The Italian conman) into giving him an investment and still thinks Anne knew more than she let on.

Of course, when the men filmed Ocean’s 11, they were all buddy, buddy, got along great, best of pals!!!! When the women film Ocean’s 8, there is tension, cat fights, beefing!!!! It amazes me that women cannot get along with each other!!!! (eyes rolling so far back in head, I can see behind me)
When Oceans films came out there were many stories about Brad and George fighting in amongst stories about them being friends. Also lots of stories about how they were both jealous of Damon and territorial over their leading man roles. Also some stuff about everyone hating Andy Garcia and Scott Caan, but no one cares about them so those stories went nowhere.

I could actually see this being true. Cate is very opinionated and blunt and has a biting sense of humour. She’s pretty much the opposite of Anne, supremely confident and comfortable and gives no f$&$@. I could easily imagine Anne getting all excited, thinking she’s found a fellow eager beaver theatre person to bond with and Cate offending her sensibilities.
Can’t see that working out either, cuz Hathaway is no eager beaver theatre person, however, if Cate, or Sandra, thought she is a eager beaver theatre person, and therefore behaved like eager beaver theatre persons, just because they are so nice, and Anne could not cope with that, and HBC knowing Anne better, because they worked together on two films (3, but in one they shared not scenes together), told them to just stop behaving like eager beaver theatre persons…No wait, how does Rhianna fit in there?? Actually, I think Damon and Lewis just argued about football, and Anne and Cate tried to calm them down and had a few angry words.
Anne seems like someone who would annoy me. But I am not sure anyone could get so easily to the great Kate
I always imagined Sandra Bullock to be nice and funny.
But I saw her guest star on the first episode of harry connick jr’. S talk show a few months ago, and I swear , it looked as though she totally resented being there. Harry Connick must have thanked her a hundred times and was so gracious. He was nothing but complimentary to her.
She was downright snippy, almost rude. And NOT IN a funny, just kidding kind of way.
She acted like a really snotty bitch. Haven’t liked her since. Not a nice person.
