Marion Cotillard and Michael Fassbender have been promoting Assassin’s Creed all over the place for weeks now. They did a full European tour, and they’re now in New York. These photos are from last night’s New York premiere. I do have to say… just stylistically and just as far as sexiness goes, I enjoy Marion plus Fassy much more than Fassy plus Alicia Vikander. Fassy and Marion actually look like they enjoy each other’s company, that they go out to dinner on a regular basis and talk sh-t about the people they know. He seems to have a little crush on her, although they both claim that their relationship is more brother-sister than anything else.

While I tend to give pregnant ladies passes on fashion mistakes, Marion’s fashion tour has had some notable disasters, and I wondered if she had pissed off a stylist or something. She’s also been wearing fewer Dior frocks, although I think that’s probably because Dior doesn’t want to make a bunch of maternity clothes for her, even if she is one of the faces of the label. All that being said, I don’t hate what she’s wearing here. I don’t have an ID on the dress, but her little coat/cape is Andrew Gn and if you look closely, it strongly resembles a Christmas tree skirt. ‘Tis the season! I love the combination of midnight blue/purple and black though – it’s one of my favorite combos.

What really struck me about these photos was Marion’s lipstick choice. Granted, I’m not a makeup person, but I associate this kind of deep, dark burgundy lip with “the goth years” and the 1990s. I realize everything ‘90s is new again and there’s a major revival for the sh-t I wore as a teenager. But I just feel like this look is dated, and it doesn’t really suit her. She’s beautiful of course and she can pull off almost everything. But this lipstick is a no for me!
