Here are some photos from Saturday night’s Producers Guild Awards. Like with all of the other guild awards shows, the PGAs are often the best indicators for which film will win Best Picture. I would put the Directors Guild alongside the PGAs for “best indicator,” or at least the best indicator of where the Oscar race stands right now. Some believe that La La Land is past due for a major backlash, although you wouldn’t know it right now. La La Land took home the big award at the PGAs, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award, which is like the Best Picture. Loving got the Stanley Kramer Award, which is given to films about social justice, that kind of thing. So… producers aren’t into Moonlight, apparently. Or Hidden Figures. Or Arrival, or Manchester by the Sea. I’m disappointed right now because I really do think La La Land is going to sweep the Oscars and… it doesn’t deserve to sweep. Bam, I said it. As for the photos… there aren’t many IDs on these dresses, but enjoy. I think Kerry Washington looked the best out of everyone there. She wore this really stunning Rodarte cocktail dress, which I never thought I would say (“stunning” and “Rodarte”). Gorgeous.
Thandie Newton in Marc Jacobs. She looks like a fembot from one of those old sex-in-space films. Right? Like, Barbarella or something.
Janelle Monae in Carolina Herrera. It’s too much. She’s beautiful but it’s too much.
Taraji Henson looks like she’s getting married in someone’s backyard.
Chrissy Teigen, in basic black. This a solid, simple look. I enjoy it.
And finally, Nicole Kidman in Prada. For-real question: why is Kidman so messy on the carpet these days? I swear, every time I see her on a red carpet for the past year, she’s looked like she’s channeling Miss Havisham.

Agree about Kidman’s hair and messiness….I would like to see her look smooth and sleek for a change.
I could like Janelle’s dress if it didn’t have that train.
It looks like the 80’s vomited on Kerry then ran her over with a lawnmower.
I’m not seeing how Kidman looks ‘messy’. She’s been letting a hint of her curls peek through more and more, but that’s it. Not sure why people are acting like she’s showing up in moth-eaten rags.
You’re right, Kaiser. La La Land was good, but it does not deserve to sweep.

Sorry, but La La Land doesn’t even compare to any of these films. It’s an entire tier below. LLL is a film that won’t quite stand the test of time. It’ll be forgotten as a pleasant, somewhat derivative film that won some awards. It’s not a game-changer, must-see like these other movies were.
Beautiful women, fug dresses…..except for Chrissy’s, hers is pretty.
I was going to say the same thing. Chrissy looked good. Kerry has a beautiful face, but it looked like she put her grannie’s cherished dressing gown, complete with padded shoulders over a fancy girdle. All the pretty dresses out there and this is the outfit that spoke to her, oh my.
Chrissy’s was kind of bland but pretty.
The rest, hells no.
Who hates Kerry and why is she so badly dressed always? She’s so darn pretty, and I like to think she is exactly like her character in Psych because it’s adorable.
If you think Nicole Kidman`s dress here looks bad – wait until you see what she wore to the SAG awards. All I can say is that it involves green sequins (a lot of green sequins) and parrots.
Come on. Kerry looks like a circus ringmaster.
But why is Kerry Washington not winning awards? She is a good actress.
