Mike Tyson’s four year old daughter, Exodus, is on life support and in “very critical condition” at a Phoenix area hospital. The young girl’s head got caught yesterday morning inside a cord hanging from a treadmill in her home. The cord was a loop attached underneath the controls and it acted as a noose, trapping her there. Exodus’ seven year-old brother went to look for her after her mother noticed she was missing. He called for his mom, and she contacted emergency services. Police and firemen performed CPR before Exodus was transported to the hospital. Tyson was in Las Vegas at the time, but has flown back to Phoenix:
Mike Tyson’s 4-year-old daughter is on life support and in “extremely critical condition” after she was found hanging Monday morning from a treadmill cable in her family’s Phoenix home, police said.
Exodus Tyson’s 7-year-old brother found her on a treadmill with her neck on a cable attached to the exercise machine, police Sgt. Andy Hill said, calling it a “tragic accident.”
The mother sent the boy to find the 4-year-old girl who was playing in a separate room. The boy found his sister in distress and got his mother, police said.
“Somehow she was playing on this treadmill, and there’s a cord that hangs under the console — it’s kind of a loop,” Hill said. “Either she slipped or put her head in the loop, but it acted like a noose, and she was obviously unable to get herself off of it.”
The girl’s mother took her daughter off the cable, called 911 and attempted to revive her.
Responding officers and firefighters performed CPR on the girl. She was rushed to nearby St. Joe’s Hospital after she was found around 10:30 a.m local time, MyFOXPhoenix.com reported.
Hill said former heavyweight champion Tyson had been in Las Vegas but flew to Phoenix immediately after learning of the accident.

This story makes my heart sink. I have a son who is four and he’s played on the treadmill many times. On my parents’ treadmill there is a cord that you can detach to stop it and this hopefully doesn’t pose a strangulation risk because it’s attached with a magnet and can easily be pulled off. I’ve never noticed a cord hanging from a treadmill that wasn’t the emergency cord that you pull off to stop it, but maybe even that is a danger to children on some models. This is such a sad example of one of the many things that can go wrong at home. We are thinking of this little girl and her family and hope that she pulls through this.

R.I.P. little one. Very tragic ending. God bless her sibling and mother who will battle those last images of her forever.
Sorrow for the family … she was at her own simple beginning in life.
