Melania Trump has a @FLOTUS Twitter account now, but much like her husband, Melania still maintains her personal Twitter account too, @MELANIATRUMP. And yesterday, her personal account “liked” one particular tweet and now everyone is laughing. It all started with Andy Ostroy tweeting this GIF of Melania’s sad expression on Inauguration Day:

Which is just funny. A lot of people got screencaps of the like before the Twitter account took it down too, so it’s not like it was Photoshopped or whatever. Some people theorized that her account was hacked, but I doubt it. I also doubt Melania liked the photo. I think it was probably one of her staffers, someone who has access to Melania’s personal and FLOTUS accounts. Someone who probably thought they were hitting like on their own secret Twitter and something got bungled. Oh, who knows? Maybe Melania really is sitting on Twitter, reading tweets about her marriage.

Melania probably didn’t understand what she was clicking. She never bothered to learn proper English and reading comprehension, let alone anything else about civic duty and contributing to charitable causes. But as long as her and Donald’s base are ok with Melania Trump being an “illegal” alien that never bothered to assimilate into the great American melting pot, what does Melania care?
Her English speaking ability seems to be in reverse. When she hawked jewelry on TV a few years ago, her English seemed slightly better than now.
Her English is bizzarely bad. You’d think she arrived from Europe three years ago.
Perhaps she talks her native language with Barron, and uses monosyllables and pointing with staff and shopkeepers? And that’s pretty much her social life?

I have a question, and I don’t mean any disrespect. Just curious as a European.
Now, I understand Melania’s absence from DC not only inconveniences NY citizens but costs the taxpayer a lot of money. Which is, of course, … I don’t even have words.
But is her absence in fact “cheaper” than staffing and organising a tradtional FLOTUS operation?
Like, I would not expect her to excel at her work, so a half assed attempt at FLOTUSsing would in my mind waste much more money with little more gain.

She still has a staff. That expense hasn’t gone away. The secret service expense for protecting her and Barron is on top of regular FLOTUS costs. It’s ridiculous. Add the $3M for every time Trump goes to Mar a Largo and the expenses of protecting his other kids when they travel the world to further line their pockets….it’s maddening.

It’s not like she really can. He’s hideous to look at and his absolutely terrible personality is very, very well known and has been for decades, and not just to insiders like with most very rich a-holes. And to top it off he’s not even especially successful, he should be far richer than he is off the back of what he was given. So it’s not even an Elon Musk situation where you can say at least he’s brilliant.
Salma Hayek’s billionaire husband is awful for instance, but you can’t see him being awful on TV and most people don’t even know his name, so it’s easier for her to pretend it’s some kind of love story and not just her way of reclaiming the wildly priviliged upbringing she had as a child.
I know it’s off topic, but what’s the deal with Salma Hayek’s husband? In the French press he’s usually portrayed in a positive light. The only negative thing I’ve read is about his refusal to acknowledge his son with Linda Evangelista.
I don’t think he ever refused to acknowledge his son, Linda refused his financial assistance and to keep him out of the her and the childs life at the start then changed her mind a few years down the line when she wasn’t doing so well. In French law children born out of wedlock have equal inheritance rights with his other children, estates must be divided equally, his future is set, all the fuss was about Linda’s exorbitant financial demands which were 80% her own personal expenses and nothing to do with the child.
No. I think she’s the one who turned around the “Would you have married him if he wasn’t rich” question with the “Would he have married me if it weren’t for my looks?” response (and as much as I can’t stand any Trump and never want to agree with one of them on anything, she’s got a point there). It doesn’t really matter that she married for money- being with someone like Donald Trump for his character and who he is as a person would be a lot more revealing about someone- but she married a very awful person for money and defends all of his actions. That’s my issue with her.
Did you guys know the new federal budget is going to include funds for NY for their increased security costs? But they want to cut meals on wheels, thats too much money. Old people dont need food, but God forbid Melania has to move in the WH!
Maybe she’s just so vapid and self-absorbed that she saw the tweet, thought ‘Yes, I look very elegant here, this shade of blue shows me off so bigly, I like very much’.
That’s my take. I understand she looks at magazines all day and not much more. She thought it was someone admiring her no doubt.
According to the Vanity Fair story, she speaks to Barron in Slovenian. I totally understand this. It’s her native language, it would be unnatural and forced if she spoke to her son in a foreign language. That’s the only thing I understand about Melania. It’s ironic that the deplorables are just fine with Mrs Baby Fists being an immigrant who barely speaks English after 20 years in America, but they hate, mock and despise immigrants in general. And don’t get me started about the way the Trumpsters and other Republicans treated Michelle Obama over the years.
The Deplorables are kind to Melania because she’s the “right” kind of immigrant. And by right kind I mean “white” kind.

I wonder if she intended to divorce him and then he won the presidency and she was like “Damn!!!!” and is now struggling to accept another 4 years with Orangina. Having a daughter in-law like pretentious Ivanka must be deeply irritating.
I have no problem believing that Ivanka openly and subtly disrespects Melania within their household, and the fact that Orangina is way more interested in his mini me that his wife must hurt Melania deeply. I hope she goes ahead with it despite his position or first thing once he’s out of office whether during or after his term.
