Here are some photos of HRH Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall today at the South of England Show at Ardingly, West Sussex. Can I just say? I enjoy Camilla’s style. She turns 70 years old next month, and she dresses well for her age, position and figure. This blue suit is stunning on her. She’s also found a shade of blonde which really works for her. I also LOVE the scarf.
Camilla did a lot of fun things at the “show,” which basically just seems like a really big fair. Camilla got to hang out with dogs, lambs and assorted farm animals. She checked out vegetables and fruits and all kinds of lovely things. And of course she was accosted by a “grumpy” farmer who demanded that Camilla knight him with a leek. Update: this guy is an actor and this is his “grumpy farmer” character.

This is pretty much Peak British, to me at least. This is what I think of when I think of “typical British.” A duchess in a sharp suit, laughingly knighting a grumpy, brogue-y farmer with a giant leek. If this situation also involved Hugh Grant looking foppish and dapper, it would be truly Peak British.

I don’t get the skirt. I really don’t. What’s going on??
I like the skirt but could do without the serrated lines running down the sleeves.
The seam on the sleeves goes with the skirt, but I would have preferred a line of seaming 3 inches on either side of the front opening instead. It looks like the inside elbow part of the sleeves is pre-gathered and sewn, as if her arms are to be permanently bent at a 30 degree angle. That might cut down on creasing of the fabric in that spot? They’re sort of “pre-creased” sleeves.
I like the skirt too. It lets her have the more fitted pencil skirt which she usually avoids, but still covers her knees without impeding movement. Her skirts mostly hit below the knee, and a pencil skirt this long might have been awkward for her to move in freely.
Her outfit is awful and her posture is terrible! I didn’t think anyone could look more hunched than Kate, but I was so wrong.

70 with back issues, IRCC.
She is 70, yes – not 95. My mother was far more upright at 75 than most women fifty years her junior. But, considering Camilla’s unfortunate heredity on her mother’s side, she probably has quite a bit of osteoporosis. She is probably happy to be alive – and looks it. Terribly aged skin (again for 70, not for 95), yet, somehow, she is a delight to look at.
She may be seventy but if she can’t stand up straight than the rumors about her being a lush might be true. My mother is seventy three and stands better! My chronically drunk sixty five year old aunt, on the other hand, looks just like Camilla does in the first pic, red faced and hunched because drinking so much did something to her posture and/or spine and gave a constantly flushed face.
I’m going with the back and bone issues in her family. Her mother died from complications from osteoporosis, right? And she herself broke a foot or leg out hill walking a few years ago.
I agree with Zoya- the skirt is straight up ugly. Could the globe tabloid be right? Is she a drunk? She looks wasted, lol.
I like the suit. She’s aging … what’s a good word… properly. I love how she picked up the little animal and didn’t mind getting dirty. Good for her. She’s a good sport.
I love Camilla! I love that she jumps right in and picks up animals, leeks and whisky glasses to drink with old men. I love that she alone does more events than Wills, Kate and Harry together. Camilla pulls her weight for sure.
I like the suit too. The skirt allows her to have a more fitted look than usual, but with the cut-apart style, she has freedom of movement without worrying about flowing skirts at a country fair.

The DOC is sincere, hardworking caring with her duties to TQ POW and the RF. Her clothes is the least to take issue with, which she has always dress appropriately, dignified and regal for her status.
I like her outfit, it’s age appropriate. She looks good.

Camiila is what she is a 70 year old woman. She is aging according to her genes and health. Being married to Charles is no picnic I am sure. But this was the path she has been on for a very long time. So be it. Britons will have to deal with Charles and Camiila for abitmore time most likely.
She looks great. Kate should get some accessory tips from her. She would never wear a scarf like that
