Stephanie March married tech investor Dan Benton in a personalized ceremony

Mr. & Mrs. #justmarried

A post shared by marchstephanie (@marchstephanie) on

I don’t know that much about Stephanie March but I’m really happy to report this story. Stephanie, who starred on Law & Order *cue the L & O chimes,* was married to celebrity chef Bobby Flay for 10 years before an acrimonious divorce in 2015. Their marriage was plagued by “rumors” of his infidelities (the quotes are because there is no doubt in my mind he cheated repeatedly but, you know – lawyers). Not only did their divorce become ugly, but during that time both Stephanie and her mother had undergone a series of health issues that impacted them physically and emotionally. It was a terrible time for her. But that’s all behind her now and her future looks pretty rosy, at least going by the constant smile she’s wearing. Stephanie and Andor Capital founder, Dan Benton, married last Friday after two years of dating.

Stephanie March married tech investor Dan Benton on Friday, September 1, Us Weekly can confirm.

The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit alum shared an Instagram photo from her nuptials the next day. In the snap, the actress, smiling from ear to ear in the sunshine, showed off her figure a form-fitting green, blue and lavender floral gown and held a matching bouquet in one hand, while her groom grinned at her. “Mr. & Mrs. #justmarried,” she captioned the image.

The Law & Order: SVU alum, 43, began dating Benton several months after she split from ex-husband Bobby Flay in April 2015 after 10 years of marriage. The actress later joked about the split during a November 2015 interview with Extra. “I thought I would have to learn to cook, because I’m not really a very good cook and I thought, ‘I’m going to have to pick up a few tricks,'” March said at the time. “But as it turns out, I go out a lot, so looks like I don’t have to. My toast is amazing. My cereal is incredible.”

When I heard Stephanie had started another relationship just months after her divorce, I thought she was out of her mind. I really thought she needed to recover both literally and figuratively. But it looks like she did. Since the divorce, Stephanie’s business, the Rouge Makeup Salons (kind of a blowout bar for makeup) that she co-owns, expanded to two locations and is becoming quite popular. She’s recovered physically and her mother is in remission. Although I still applaud what may or may not have been Stephanie’s idea to crash Flay’s Walk of Fame ceremony, Stephanie walked away from the rubble of her relationship and focused on herself. I’ve met Flay twice. He’s one the most confident man I’ve ever met and I don’t mean that as a compliment. I could image him bamboozling a significant other for a decade. To her credit, Stephanie doesn’t play the victim, she just acknowledges that things were in flames and she didn’t know how to handle it.

But enough about cheating first husbands – let’s talk weddings! As I said, Stephanie is grinning ear to ear and gushing on Instagram. I thought maybe it was too much grinning, but after reading the details of the wedding, I think Stephanie is just celebrating her best life. I love her Dolce & Gabbana dress. I’m not a fan of the mermaid cut in general but she really pulls it off. Plus, I love the floral print. The hydrangeas in the pattern are blue (for “something blue”). This struck a personal note because my bridal bouquet was a large blue hydrangea in honor of my great-aunt. The couple marched down the aisle to Star Wars themed music. The music was played by her best friend on Stephanie’s grandmother’s piano. The ceremony and reception, an outdoor luncheon, were small and intimate. It sounds like a day perfectly representative of the couple.

You can click through some more pics in the Instagram below. When I read the caption, I thought the whole thing had been sponsored but most of the names she mentions are actually their friends. I think Stephanie is just crazy happy and I wish her and Ben much joy.

This was posted the day after they got engaged while they were in Greece. Normally I’d be snarky but they really do look happy so nothing but good thoughts going out.

some very traditional activities #Greece #fishyfishy

She deserves a good relationship after that divorce. What a terrible moment in time for her. She looks happy. Congrats to them!

  3. LizLemonGotMarried says:

    So happy for her!

I follow her on IG and she seems a very down to earth woman who moved on and doesn’t look back. She keeps doing lots of charity and keeps spending lots of time in Africa helping women’s business. She always comes of with good vibes. I think when a split occurs it doesn’t mean that the person didn’t check out of the relationship awhile back, prior to the “official” separation/divorce filing. Anyhow, I’m happy for her and good for her.She didn’t play the victim she just wanted what was her due.

    Alex Cabbot forever!

She looks genuinely happy and surprised by it. I’m happy she’s happy. Flay can go suck an egg.

+1000 Mazel to the happy couple!

    • maisie says:

Lots of women have told Flay to go suck an egg. A bigger douchebag could not be found – he makes John Mayer look like a lightweight (and Flay was spreading his douchery around NYC long, LONG before he was famous).

Mazeltov to March and her new husband – may their union be a long and happy one.

Good for her! She looks happy and gorgeous.

Incidentally, I ate at Bar Americain in NYC last month – my first Bobby Flay experience. It sucked.

    • Enough Already says:

Not surprised but to be fair his restaurant heydey was 6-9 years ago when anything he wven looked at was absolutely delicious. To this day I remember biting into a mushroom quesadilla at his Vegas restaurant and dying inside – so simple but so exquisite. Now BF eats seem branded and…cheap tasting.

    • Maynra says:

Yup – my last 2 Bar Americain experiences sucked, too, after the 1st years ago being like dying and going to heaven.
I won’t go back…hmmm…on 2nd thought, I might just for the hot chips and dip.
But I won’t even bother to buy a cocktail – they’re watered down.
For that money, everything should be spot on.

Not a Flay fan anymore…professionally or personally.

Stephanie does look wonderful and happy.
      Hope it’s real.

I wonder if she’s overcompensating with all the smiles and happiness…maybe not…

Congrats to the happy couple! I’m so glad she found someone who loves her and she’s happy!

  9. jferber says:

I’d say that kicking Bobby Flay out of your life is an empowering and life-affirming act and I’d have no problems if she re-married the next day. Assholes drain your energy and spirit. She’s ready to take on the world now. Good on her.

  10. Rice says:

She’ll always be known as Alex Cabot to me and I miss seeing her. But she looks giddy as heck and I’m here for it 🙂

  11. Alix says:

A colorful print wedding dress — love it!

  12. Jess says:

Aww this made me smile! So happy for her! I always thought she had the best voice (much like the other female characters on L&O). That must be part of the audition lol

  13. Myriam says:

They look like they adore each other and that’s everything. Congrats to her!

  14. Cintra.C says:

She looks so happy! Best wishes to both of them.

  15. Lady D says:

Major congrats to ex-ADA Cabot and her new husband. I hope they are happy, I like her.

  16. Tiffany says:

On the superficial front, they are an attractive couple.

  17. Dutch says:

Quick question — aren’t all wedding ceremonies personalized in some way shape or form? Is there some kind of wedding ceremony trend where you look at a menu and say, “Yep I’ll have the No. 2 with extra bridesmaids please.”
