If anyone follows me on Twitter, then you know that I fully support Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem. It’s funny, too, because I wasn’t a fan of him as a player when he was on my 49ers but now I wear his number. I won’t bore you with my thoughts on the hypocrisy of the NFL’s ‘statements’ considering the other crimes they’ve allowed, nor the fact that none of the ‘statements’ made included a job offer for Kaep. However, after #45’s comments on Saturday, I did get caught up in the #TakeAKnee movement on Twitter. Because I spent so much time reading the responses, I missed his subsequent tweets about how the NFL should do their job (oh… the irony). Tweets like this:
If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect….
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2017
I don’t know if my perpetual headache since #45 took office is from listening to him or the continual smacking my head on my desk because I listen to him. I suspect both. Honestly, I don’t have the proper words to respond to his bs. Fortunately, there are far more clever people than me who do, such as author JK Rowling. Just for a little context, remember that JK used to be a single mother who lived on state benefits as she struggled to write her first novel, which, of course, became Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. So when it comes to pulling oneself up by ones bootstraps, JK is a fantastic spokesperson. In response to The Emperor of Foot in Mouth Disease, JK tweeted this response:
'Privilege.' Some people don't get given millions by Daddy, Donnie. They actually earn it. https://t.co/rmKataLLQX

Game. Set. Match. Of course, there is no arguing with JK’s tweet because 1) it’s true and 2) it’s true. However, that didn’t stop people from trying. One bonehead suggested she should concern herself with Brexit instead – because that’s hers, apparently? And I think if we’ve learned anything, it’s that one shouldn’t come for JK on Twitter:
Wow. Sick burn. pic.twitter.com/IDNsQWJrv8

Sorry, what? Sit down, Son – this here is a battle of wits and you came unarmed. Of course, when we look at who he’s defending, this makes perfect sense. Please never stop, JK.
I promised I would not go on with my comments on the NFL but I didn’t say I wouldn’t let Twitter do it for me:
NFL players make millions
NFL owners make billions off them
So if owners can donate to Trump
Players can express their disdain for it
— Tony Posnanski (@tonyposnanski) September 24, 2017
NFL owners knew what they were doing by supporting 45. They just didn't think he'd come for them. Tsk tsk.

Here’s my beef w/ @NFL owners:
Don’t say you disagree with Trump saying to fire the son of a bitch who protests…
WHEN YOU ALREADY DID IT
— Shaun King (@ShaunKing) September 24, 2017
NFL owners are speaking up, but will we hear from the 7 who donated $1M each to Trump? Kraft, Jones, McNair, Khan, Snyder, Kroenke, Johnson.
— Jim Trotter (@JimTrotter_NFL) September 23, 2017
NFL Owners: "We stand in solidarity with our players."
Black People: "Then hire Kaepernick."

I saw this on twitter and saw the rebuttal and laughed. Dude those “little children’s books” made her a self-made billionaire. Like have several.
And yea the nfl owners think we don’t see them being slick with their support. You already blackballed Kaep and brought the boycott on yourselves. Don’t walk back your support now. Same with Ray Lewis who was kneeling but had the nerve to tell Kaep to keep silent last year. We SEE you. Internet never forgets. We have receipts
Can we just appoint her Universal Headmistress already? She schools people in such a satisfactory way.
That’s gold, Alix!
“Sit down, Son” made me laugh so hard on a day in which I needed a good laugh. Thank you!
And ITA with all of your points and adore JKR.
I love JK Rowling. Her Twitter is awesome. How much longer do we have to put up with this horrid man baby? He is ruining friendships and families. I’m sleeping poorly and it’s harder to have motivation to work out. Please indict him already!!!!
Of course, it IS the Daily Mail…
Sorry CB, I didn’t mean to hijack the thread…
Joanne Rowling, I love you and always will!
I’m starting to think it’s worth joining Twitter just to follow her.
Her and @dog_rates. They’ve rated her dog, too. 🙂
One of the CFL teams (Saskatchewan Roughriders) stood in solidarity on Sunday as well. They are mostly American -born players, so they are touched by the idiocy of Trump too.

She is so awesome.
She is. Love that silvery long dress. And it is actually HEMMED! (faints from shock)
Meanwhile, Trump is retweeting about Pat Tillman as support for his anti-kneeling stance. Bigly, Pat Tilllman would LOATHE you. And kick your ass for using him to promote a protest he’d be first to join.
You wanna talk about respecting the military, Tillman’s death is NOT the one you want to use.
I know right???!!!!
What an idiot
How do his supporters agree with this? FFS, if a person can’t show dissent in their country without being punished for it, it’s not a free country. I am so ashamed my in-laws support this bullshit.
I don’t always agree with JK’s tweets but in this instance I do, wholeheartedly.
