I both love and hate this. I love this because it means I was always right about Selena Gomez and her need for stupid relationship drama. I hate this because damn, Selena is SO unhealthy when it comes to relationships. As we discussed last week, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are back in each other’s orbits. Since I’m not a Millennial, I did not follow every twist and turn of their on-again/off-again relationship, but suffice to say that it was a years-long mess full of back-and-forth accusations, cheating, social media callouts and endless drama. They thankfully split for good at some point and then Selena made a big thing about how Justin mistreated her and she was really screwed up about it (which I believed, but still).
Selena is now with The Weeknd. The Weeknd is currently on tour. And so Selena is bored in LA, so she’s been hanging out with Bieber. Two weekends ago, he went to her house for a party. This past weekend, they went out to breakfast:
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had quite a weekend away from The Weeknd … they grabbed breakfast together Sunday morning — just the 2 of ’em. JB and Selena were chatting it up at a cafe in Westlake Village … with Bieber rockin’ a hoodie, and Selena not wearing much to cover up. This is the 3rd sighting recently where the 2 exes have hung out … again, with Abel nowhere in sight. Justin was just at Selena’s house last Sunday … and stayed ’til midnight. Like we told you … Selena’s BF was fully aware of them hanging out, and we’re told he’s totally cool. The question … does he know Sunday is apparently the new Justin/Selena day?
You can see the photo on TMZ, they’re not really hiding. I suspect TMZ got the “tip” because Bieber and his team are very connected to TMZ now for some complicated and stupid reason. Basically, I believe that Bieber wants everyone to know that he’s spending time with Selena again. Why is that? To poke at The Weeknd, I would assume. Boy beef.
Still, Selena’s friends and family aren’t happy about any of this. TMZ had another piece where they spoke to unnamed Gomez family members. TMZ reports: “many of them have never forgiven Justin for what they claim was extremely bad conduct during their long on-again-off-again relationship.” One family member says: “Justin is a vile human and will never be accepted by us. As long as she is even speaking to him in any way, it is not only disrespectful to everyone around her, it is disrespectful to herself.” I mean… what can be done about it though? Bieber is an a–hole and she knows that but she’s still spending time with him.

The funniest/pettiest part: other websites said Abel/Weeknd spent the weekend UNLIKING all her IG posts he’s previously appreciated. I didn’t/won’t check, but IF true, soooo juvenile.

EVERYONE is blowing this out of proportion, and making it something it’s not, which further feeds Selena’s brand and popularity. Not to mention the weekend gets buzz and also gains followers on social media. this is all business.

I took it to mean that she wasn’t wearing sunglasses or anything to hide her identity like Justin with his hoodie. Wouldn’t be surprised if TMZ was being gross though.
Lynnie, yes they could have meant that she wasn’t hiding her identity. I just think TMZ is so biased against women & WOC in particular that I’m done with their sexist spin.
Yeah, I honestly wish there was a way we could get away from using them as a source, just because I hate clicking anything that has to do with that pile of garbage website. But I understand that’s probably not realistic.
Someone on ONTD said that Abel’s mom unfollowed Selena on social media yesterday so yikes.
My hypothesis is that Abel has probably been fooling around on tour, or at least Selena suspects he is, and then started hanging out with Bieber again to make him jealous or angry. Or perhaps they just broke up and it hasn’t been made public yet.

I have always found it so disturbing how they have her photographed (and also in her music videos) so Lolita-esque which is extremely gross and unacceptable to me, but apparently it’s acceptable everywhere else. I mean, it’s her “look” and persona. I find it deeply disturbing. Also, is it just me or does her face sometimes (often) look very bloated? I know she has issues with drugs and alcohol and I hope that’s not why. I feel for her. I just get this feeling that the people around her are taking advantage of her.
Re bloating : She has an autoimmune disease called Lupus, and received a kidney transplant over the summer.

Why is it not possible for someone to be a recovering coke addict and have an autoimmune disease? People act like the two must be mutually exclusive, but honestly I would not be surprised if she happened to be both at some point in time.

Because it’s pretty obvious to anyone who has been prescribed prednisone that it’s steroid bloat, and that if she used enough cocaine to get her that bloated, with her form of lupus, she’d be dead. The girl is very ill. Her lupus isn’t gone, it never goes away. The kidney isn’t a cure. She’s got a huge battle ahead, and I’m fairly certain she’s not abusing drugs and alcohol. She’s trying to save her life.
@Originaltessa My question was more so asking why people are adamant about her having one condition or the other, but not both, especially in the past and considering it’s Hollywood. Also, as far as I know no one on this thread said she’s abusing any substances now (that’s why I put “recovering coke addict”), and everyone knows autoimmune diseases never goes away?
So I don’t know what kind of cocaine you all are doing but, as someone who has used/abused it for near 10 years and has known many users/abusers for just as long, I have never encountered “coke bloat”. Can someone please tell me where this dumb term came from and why everyone speaks it as gospel?

I don’t understand why anyone is offended on her behalf. Weeknd is very clear that he loves coke and wrote a song about it. JB and Selena were known to do heavy drugs together which is why her parents don’t like him. She has been in drug treatment more than once and hangs with cokeheads, and the rumors have persisted even before her Lupus announcement.
If true, she needs to knock it off for the sake of her health.

What comes to mind is an interview she gave years ago wherein she mentioned her father often took her to Hooters as a very tiny human. She registered how the girls would give her dad extra attention because Selena was a child and with him. Ever since I read that …. poor girl barely stood a chance.

Justin was her first LOVE and that love is usually INTENSE DRAMATIC and can set up how your love life plays out after the end of it. Justin “seems ” to be calmer less douchey AND if Abel is being sketchy while on tour she would hear about it.

This is why she talks about it. I have compassion for her lupus struggle, and yet she is still a shady, bland, messy attention seeker. Plenty of jerks get sick, so it doesn’t mean anything more than she has lupus.
