In the first days after the New York Times broke their first story about Harvey Weinstein, he didn’t do much of anything. He was in LA, he stayed with his adult daughter, they got into some kind of domestic dispute and he flew out of town. He issued a few statements and came across as particularly unhinged too. He ended up flying to Arizona where, it was claimed, he was going into sex-rehab or something. He spent ONE WEEK at the facility, and by that I mean he stayed in a hotel, did “outpatient treatment,” fell asleep in group therapy and barked orders into his phone. After one week, a shrink went to TMZ and basically said Weinstein was fake-cured of his fake sex-addiction. That statement did not go over well, and Weinstein ended up announcing that he would be continue to “seek treatment.” I imagine he’s still sitting in some luxury hotel suite and spending most of his time on the phone with all of his lawyers. So is he taking his fake rehab seriously? Take a wild guess. People Magazine has an exclusive:
Harvey Weinstein has been receiving treatment for nearly a month after numerous women came forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct, but his attitude towards therapy has been called into question throughout his stay. The disgraced mogul checked into a luxury resort in Arizona for treatment on Oct. 11, about a week after The New York Times first reported decades of sexual assault and harassment allegations against him, to “deal with this issue head-on,” according to a statement.
“Harvey is still in Arizona and is taking treatment seriously,” a source close to the situation tells PEOPLE. “He only gets time off for meals and meals are spent with his treatment sponsor. He is basically in 24/7 treatment.”
But another source says, “He sees different doctors, but doesn’t go to a treatment facility every day,” adding that Weinstein has clashed with advisors over staying in Arizona: “Harvey wants to leave every day.”
Weinstein’s commitment to treatment has raised eyebrows since the beginning. After originally planning to to enter a residential treatment facility, he ended up staying at a five-star hotel (which boasts a spa and golf course). But another source at the time explained, “His team set him up at a secure place to get him the help he needs — he knows and wants help.”
The fact that Weinstein is still trying to manufacture some sympathetic coverage and mastermind some kind of comeback speaks volumes about what his actual state of mind is. He actually does need some kind of treatment for his extensive mental health issues. But he’s not getting that treatment because he’s too egotistical and f–ked up to actually commit to any kind of real program. Besides all of that, this a–hole just needs to be in jail. Let’s see police forces around the world compete to see who can arrest him first.

I really hope he wil be put in jail soon. Horrible guy, he will never change.
I think he’ll literally kill himself before he goes to jail, so hopefully he doesn’t get to remain out on bond during the trials. Live like a coward…
Feel free to leave and turn yourself in to your nearest law enforcement officer, Harvey.
I was just going to say. No problem Mr Weinstein, there’s a car waiting for you out front…..It’s the one with the blue flashing lights on top. 😒
Agreed. Feel free to leave and go to NYC where a cop could be waiting for you.
This is a man who has done literally whatever he wanted for decades. Is it really a shock that he doesn’t understand that this is different? Up until now, he’s been able to bully people and bribe them to do what he wants. We’re going to hear about him trying to make a comeback for a while because it’s going to take a while for this to sink into his thick, disgusting skull.
I’m not shocked in the slightest. Nothing short of divine intervention will redeem this man. He hasn’t changed and he won’t change. He will continue see everything through the lens of his own ego. All of this is about how persecuted and wronged he is, and he will attempt to make a comeback again and again.
Someone posted on a previous thread that this Arizona treatment facility is basically just a rich person spa where you go when you’re in trouble and need to put on a show of “seeking treatment” for your issues. I believe it.
The easiest way for this to end will be for him to have a rage heart attack and die.
And I wonder what’s going to happen when it finally sinks in that he’s done.
He’s at the Phoenician in Scottsdale. In the presidential suite. He is going out to restaurants disguised (poorly) demanding VIP treatment and private dining rooms. He’s not behaving like a man who’s getting help. He is a monster, a predator and quite delusional of what his future truly holds.
He does because people let him. These restaurants, hotels, etc don’t have to give in to what he wants.
While I think he should be in a jail cell, I would settle for a day for a day. For every day that someone suffered in silence for something that he did, he can spend a day ostracized. Combining the number of number of yrs he was actively preying on people, with the shear number of victims………..that might be enough time.
He needs to be in jail not in treatment. Along with a lot of people exposed yesterday in Ronan Farrow’s piece for their cooperation in his crazy quest to destroy women. Overall, I would prefer all the public platform was given to women whom he abused and harrased, to discussion of powers that prevent women from deffending themselves, stupid non disclosure agreements preventing sexual abuse from being reported, the buying of the media in a free country, etc. I am not interested at all how poor Harvey is doing.
He is a sexual predator who is a danger to society. I worry criminal charges could take awhile, as no prosecutor is going to bring him in until the case is air tight. Who knows how many women he will abuse until then.
Does any legal mind here know if there are grounds for him to be arrested? I’m a bit lost in all the info out there. Any progress with the investigations? Any hope for a trial? Or several?
Of course he wants to leave everyday, he has no idea why he is there. I would imagine he feels unjustly “imprisoned” in his presidential suite, unable to harrass and rape women on a whim.
He isn’t a person he’s a case study in violent hubris.
Are there actually treatments to make someone not a rapist?
There’s chemical castration
We would first have to admit to himself he is a rapist, which he has no intention of doing. I’m sure he believes he did nothing wrong. If there isn’t a problem, it can’t be fixed.
Go to jail.
Someone please tell me what mental health issues he actually has that treatment can help? I just don’t get these treatment centers at all. I don’t understand it when they are supposed sex addicts, much less this!!!
Can we just admit that treatment is not the way to go? The man is a psychopath. After that second TNY article, I honestly don’t want to discuss the merits of therapy for him. HOW do you treat someone like him? From everything we’ve heard now, it’s so clear that the man is just a terrible waste of skin and has been for decades. Does anyone think he can be treated? I don’t.
He’s not getting treatment this is just a PR stunt. No I don’t think he can be treated he doesn’t want to get any sort of treatment.
He’s PR team keep putting it out that he’s treatment is for sex addiction. Facts is rape and assault have nothing to do with sex it’s all about power.
No, I don’t think he can be treated either, he has a personality disorder not a sex addiction or mental health problem. The best ‘treatment’ for him would be criminal justice.
He has always grossed me out, I don’t understand how respectable people even approached him (Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, etc). That town is a cesspool.
Here’s hoping the hotel is taking precautions by only allowing male staff to clean his room, serve his meals, etc.
