Oh Mr. Bean – what have you been up to? 62-year old Rowan Atkinson is expecting his third child with his girlfriend, Louise Ford. Louise is 33-years old and this is her first child. Rowan’s other two children are from his marriage to Sunetra Sastry and are both in the their 20s. How are the parents to be feeling about their new bundle of joy? Well, they’re over the moon, of course.
Rowan Atkinson is to become a father for the third time at the age of 62, according to reports. The Mr Bean actor, who has two adult children from his first marriage, is allegedly about to welcome his third child with his partner Louise Ford, 33. The reports come after Louise was spotted with a large baby bump while shopping in North London on Sunday. The actress, who played the Duchess of Cambridge in a Channel 4 show, The Windsors, looked casual in a polka dot jumpsuit with an oversized cardigan and a pair of white trainers. HELLO! Online has reached out to Rowan’s representatives for comment.
Speaking about the pregnancy, a source told the Sunday People: “Rowan and Louise are over the moon and can’t wait for their new arrival. It’s a very happy time for them both.” Rowan shares a 25-year-old son, Ben, and 21-year-old daughter, Lily, with his ex-wife Sunetra Sastry. The actor was married to the BBC make-up artist for 25 years before they split in 2013, and has been in a relationship with Louise since 2014.
The happy news comes just one month after Rowan’s daughter, Lily, changed her surname from Atkinson to her mother’s maiden name, Sastry, and deleted her social media pages. Speaking about the name change, a source told the Daily Mail: “It’s a real mystery. Atkinson has been Lily’s name all her life, but she’s now dropped it and is styling herself as Lily Sastry. I hope she hasn’t fallen out with her dad. The divorce was really hard for everyone in the family.”

So congratulations are in order, I guess. To be perfectly honest, I don’t have a big issue with this. I mean, I would’t want a new baby at that age – I’m exhausted just thinking about it. But Louise is younger and probably has enough energy for the both of them. I’m sure they can afford some extra help, too. They’ve been together for three years, it sounds like this was planned.
I’m much more interested in the bit about his daughter Lily. Lily is a burlesque performer so a recognizable last name would be helpful in raising her profile. Plus, she is about to release her first album. This article delicately suggests Louise and Rowan’s relationship followed the breakup of his marriage but they met while performing together in the play Quartermaine’s Terms in 2013. And he moved in weeks after his divorce. So delicate-wording aside, I think it’s safe to say that Rowan’s decision to end his marriage had a lot to do with Louise, which would explain why the divorce was, “really hard for everyone.” And if Louise is three months along, that lines up neatly with when Lily chucked all things Atkinson because she didn’t just change her name, she erased all mention of her father from any of her media. However, Lily’s spokesman swears, “There is no truth in the idea that Rowan and Lily have fallen out.” Things that make you go hmmm.

Was (re)watching the Christmas special a couple of weeks ago and her frantically singing the theme to Black Beauty while Anne is poised above her with a drill, ready to lobotomise her because she hates horses, is divinely funny!

I am 37. My father is 70. I can’t imagine having a husband that old. If I had one he would be a perfect friend for my father not really a father for my child. Nop. To old for her and to old for a baby at that age. But yes it was probably planned and maybe she pushed for one. She is young.
Gross. A man that age should not be with someone in their 30s and he is way too damn old to be reproducing.
