I remember back when Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston first split and announced their divorce. Everyone knew that Angelina Jolie was involved somehow, and we were just patiently awaiting to see everyone’s next move. Brad’s next move was an odd one – he was seen out with Mariane Pearl. People went into overdrive and the conversation was briefly “oh, we were so worried that Brad was going to end up with the Villainess Jolie, but look, he’s with Daniel Pearl’s widow and they might be dating and isn’t that interesting because Mariane is actually smart and worldly!” It was a good diversion while it lasted – and to be clear, he was hanging out with Mariane Pearl because his company, Plan B, had bought the rights to her memoir – and Brad and Angelina eventually came out as a couple and there you go.
What’s my point with this trip down memory lane? Because I think it’s happening again. I think Brad is using a brainy, accomplished, interesting non-Hollywood woman as a “front” for whoever he’s really dating/sleeping with. Page Six broke the story that Brad has been spending a lot of time with an MIT professor named Neri Oxman.
Brad Pitt is spending time with an acclaimed architect, award-winning artist and rockstar MIT professor Neri Oxman. A source exclusively confirms that architecture and design aficionado Pitt recently met accomplished Oxman through an MIT architecture project and they have since become friends. Pitt was referred to Oxman to collaborate on an architectural project he was working on, we’re told.
As first revealed on “Page Six TV,” a source told us, “Brad and Neri instantly hit it off because they share the same passion for architecture, design and art. This is best described as a professional friendship.” But the source added, “Their friendship has not turned into romance … as both are cautious and this is, again, more of a professional friendship, but Brad is very interested in spending more time with Neri, she is fascinating.”
American-Israeli architect and designer Oxman was previously married to Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov, who she has said had an “incredible influence” on her work. Pitt is still finalizing his divorce from Angelina Jolie. A rep for Pitt, 54, declined to comment, but a friend added, “You are correct that they are just friends and she is very impressive.” Oxman is currently traveling and could not be immediately reached.
Oxman, 42, who bears more than a passing resemblance to Jolie, is a professor at the MIT Media Lab, where she founded and directs the Mediated Matter group, which conducts research into bonding design and architecture with natural and biological environments. Her team has also been building 3-D printers capable of printing biological matter and glass. According to her MIT bio, Oxman “coined the term, and pioneered the field of, Material Ecology, which considers computation, fabrication, and the material itself as inseparable dimensions of design. In this approach, products and buildings are biologically informed and digitally engineered by, with and for, nature.”
Page Six goes on and on about Oxman’s credentials, like men get boners for ladies with multiple degrees (narrator’s voice: men do not get boners for a lady’s education). I mean, Oxman seems like a really cool woman and someone who would be a fascinating dinner party guest. She probably has men eating out of her hand every day of her life. Which brings me to the point of all this: if you have youth, beauty, intelligence, charm, wit and a brilliantly idiosyncratic nature, why in the world would you settle for Brad Pitt? Brad’s not even divorced yet, and the reason he’s getting a divorce is because he got sh-tfaced and tried to punch his son. I don’t know you, Neri Oxman, but I’m pretty sure that you could do better. I’m also pretty sure that Brad is using you as a frontwoman to hide who he’s really banging.
She’s lovely, isn’t she? We should set her up with someone better than Brad. Oooh, set her up with Keanu Reeves!!

She’s gorgeous and impressive. I do believe she likes some attention; most academics do since it helps with funding and architects thrive on reputation and fame. He’s always been obsessed with architecture, so I don’t see why not. She’s slender already so sure why not. She’s 42 and divorced.

She has lost weight recently, she’s not normally as slender as she is now. She’s odd, she seems the type that would be more into someone such as JA’s ex, Theroux, who collects syphilis tongues and old teeth. Neri Oxman collects death masks, which is very weird.
As for architecture, Oxman is more interested in the engineering aspect of architecture as opposed to houses and decorating that Pitt is more interested in.
Also, let’s admit this, Pitt is not exactly a brainiac, I’m sure he found Angelina intimidating, (which BBT and JLM both admitted Angie’s intelligence made them feel unworthy of her).
Another factor is Brad Pitt has asked for an extension of the divorce until after the first of next year. He will still be legally married for at least another 9 months. Brad seems to be dragging his feet regarding finalizing his and Angie’s divorce, for what reason is anyone’s guess.

Magnoliarose: He picks slim / thin women to begin with. Then they all lose some more weight. With AJ it was attributed to her mother dying which is fair enough, but she didn’t become bigger after she was over the shock of it, and if you notice, she has put on some weight post-divorce.
Ps: i accept that AJ also had medical issues stress, but it’s interesting to note that post-divorce, she hasn’t gone through the standard divorce diet that everyone goes through, but instead has put on a smidge of weight which looks very good on her.

To be clear, i’m not suggesting that he forces them to lose weight, but there are some people who influence their partners to look a certain way according to their taste. It can be a weight thing or hair colour or dress sense. Brad’s thing is influencing his partners to be the thinnest they can be just as Jen’s thing is to influence her partners into a Ken doll mold. JLO does the same as Jen with her partners.

Seems more like a Clint Eastwood move. At a certain point ( read: the Sondra Locke drama), he started dating non-actresses like Dina and the current woman ( don’t remember her name). So, here’s my theory. Jen A lost weight while with him. My friends in NYC say Gwyneth though obviously slender too dropped about 15 while dating him. Juliette was thin yet lost around ten anyway per a beady eyed wardrobe friend. Could be 💕 love pounds. Or the Pitt Diet. This woman is slender but not Hollywood-Pitt thin. So I await her next photos as my tell.
If she basks in the light as citney suggests ( and architects can be burning showmen), she may try going Hollywood. It is probably just a gossip cherry, but I can see that it might take someone off-stream like this woman, with a view and target past “cute actor” to be willing to absorb and get past Brad’s hothouse air.

It seems like every week we’re reading about the future ex Mrs. Pitt. The question being, who cares? If Page Six is getting statements from ‘sources’ close to Pitt and they ran the 1st bit on the relationship, then likely he’s not trying to score a date with her – he’s already had one and is ready to ‘roll out’ the partnership, as Lainey has termed it.
This isn’t just cheap sticky-sourced tab gossip, this is planned and has approval from both parties (Pitt and Oxman). For whatever reasons they may have to do so.
I think they’re already dating. Lainey did a timeline today of them being photographed together at MIT in November and his “slow roll” as she calls it starting in December.
I take Lainey with a HUGE grain of salt. Her facts are generally good. How she colors them is strikingly biased. Whereas Jolie is a “master media strategist,” the words she uses for Pitt PR are “smells,” “shady,” “shenanigans,” and “dick-swinging.” I just thought I’d point that out with direct quotes.
He put out there he was doing better, he was then casually dating, then maybe a specific woman. What’s with the ominous sounding “slow-roll?” Sounds pretty straightforward and like a natural progression to me.

I looked. It does sound dramatic but absolutely believable. She does have strong biases, but I think it is because most of all she is a fan of some of the celebrities. A separated man dating someone is no big deal and not a big thing, but the players involved make it interesting.

Jennifer Aniston hasn’t really fallen all over herself to describe him as a good man. She basically alluded to the fact that he spent their marriage emotionally unavailable, much like he described himself in his marriage to Jolie. I think the guy spent decades hanging out and getting wasted. He just seemed even more sanctimonious about himself during his years with Angie. I think that missing sensitivity chip is likely still missing. Decent, sensitive men don’t get investigated by Children’s Services.

Brad reminds me of the beautiful man who never really had to try hard to get women. So it has made him a lazy lover.
I do smell a set up brewing for Brad to come out dating someone. I like your comment about Brad not having anything negative said about him by anyone but Jolie. After 3 decades that’s an accomplishment. It’s read here as ‘ he’s the golden boy who only cares about his image’. I have read that he strays outside the marriage, but other than that he is well liked. My observation is that you can’t make a movie or two every year and produce 30 movies and be developing movies and writing movies and have six kids and be appropriately present for six children. They created a chaotic, at-risk, fantasy world and it blew up.
Alcoholism had a great deal to do with it blowing up. Everything that happened in that relationship was affected by alcohol. He put his desire/need for alcohol first. Chaos was bound to rule.
I think Pitt is really well-liked and likeable. Also, like everyone, I think he is at his best in the pursuit stage and at the beginning of relationships. As long as Pitt doesn’t re-marry, there’s no chance for a third ex-Mrs. Pitt and I think that is probably the happiest route for him and his potential next partner.
LadyD – for sure! But, I have to add…we do not know her part in the problems. There are always issues on both sides. He came clean and made his public after she exposed him in the press. She has not admitted to any fault which is her prerogative, but I am not buying it. She has her issues…that said, I am a fan of hers. We all have culpability in divorce. Pretty sure this marriage was a hail Mary.
Pitt said he stopped doing hash and pot when he had kids but who knows. He admitted to doing hash with Tarantino in France when they were discussing him starring in Inglorious Bastards. That’s a contradiction.

LadyD, no alcoholic willingly puts their desire/need for alcohol first. If they could do that, it wouldn’t be called addiction, it wouldn’t be so difficult to treat. Nobody likes being alcoholic. Alcoholism should never be used as an excuse, but treating alcoholism as a moral failure is helping nobody, and your comment is absolutely coming across as making alcoholism out to be a choice.
Is depression a choice? Is a career-destroying injury a choice? After all it’s you who chose to play a sport and expose yourself to the possibility.

(but the warning signs were there) I think it’s a hideous, malignant disease that destroys everyone it touches, and nobody can control it. I spent 10 years with an alcoholic and I grew up with a pair of them. I know very well the devastation and horror alcohol causes. I think you misinterpreted my comment.

What I found even stranger is that Page Sixx made an update and mentions at the very end of the article that its been confirmed she’s been dating a billionaire. Sounds like someone came back and was like not so fast so the story probably is a cover. Guess this story was to make him seem interesting again I guess.

Brad and Neri were photographed in November at MIT and there have been stories about him casually dating ever since. Maybe she is casually dating them both or he is aggressively pursuing her.
Hmm I could see it being tempting and flattering to have a fling. She’s just a year older than me and when I was a late teen when Brad was at the peak of his cinematic beauty and hearthrobness. It might be amazing to date a teenage crush. But while he’s probably a nice guy and not necessarily dumb as some like to joke I’d think that a woman with her accomplishments would get bored. Plus the life drama which either he’s not involved at all with his kids which is scummy or it’s full on drama and mess. I just think he should wait a bit to date publicly.

Dating a successful woman gave George Clooney a boost in classiness (more than when he dated models). Especially with his hurt public image, it would look good for Brad. And he might genuinely like her.

Yeah, I think people are underestimating how seriously Brad takes himself. I think he is going to go after women like Neri because he thinks he’s a peer to them, or peer-adjacent. He has no use for someone like Sienna Miller or other Hollywood starlets. Angelina made him want to be taken seriously.

I get the inclination of someone famous dating another famous person, who better to understand that crazy world than someone who also lives it? Maybe they’re just working together, but it isn’t a bad idea to not only date outside of Hollywood, but date someone whose accomplishments aren’t contingent on him ‘supporting’ it. Plus, she’s closer to him, age-wise. And frankly, he shouldn’t date any more actresses until there is a legitimate mind shift in how a majority of them get their roles. Plan B is doing fine work with those who are new to Hollywood and not relying on nepotism or connections.
I believe Brad is still in rehab and therapy and these stories about him dating and he is seeing his children at his home is a smoke screen. Brad does not look good.

I only found pictures taken by magazines that were interviewing her or doing articles on her. They look like modeling shots because she looks like a model, but they just accompany the articles about her work.

One thing I like about him is he seems to appreciate strong, accomplished women. She’s also much more stylish than any woman he’s dated, which I could see him really being into. But it’s hard for me to envision them having a conversation–she is highly intelligent and articulate whereas he is usually anything but in interviews (I don’t think he’s dumb, just not well spoken). Given his tremendous baggage and different coasts, hard to see this going anywhere beyond a friendship with benefits. Though I could see him being totally enamored of her.

They’re discussing her professional identity so I think listing her credentials makes sense. In fact, I think they’re also mentioning what she actually does for a living which appears to be interdisciplinary in nature. I don’t see how you can mention her name without mentioning what she does for a living since we don’t pretend people in the “news” (for whatever weird reason, even if it’s just meeting up with Brad Pitt for whatever reason they both have, I guess) are sitting at home unemployed.

I think everyone will be happy for them when their divorce is final. They can move on even better then. Also, claims of who can/cannot see the kids can end. Personally, I think they should be v raised by their mother and father. Pitt and Jolie or the courts will decide.

I didn’t say Angie felt like her kids were daycare duty. I said people that are pissed at Brad Pitt see Angie, much like Jennifer Garner, having 6 kids to care for daily and that it pissed them off that he is child free in regard to his daily life.
Divorce does not allow one parent to raise children only has he or she sees fit. Like it or not Brad doesn’t have to be the primary caregiver to have a say in how his children are raised. I’m sure Angie wished that weren’t the case but that’s how co-parenting works. Actually I believe he’ll have far more say in his children’s lives now when/if they divide time equally because the dominant parent generally rules the roost in marital homes.

Yes I think she has been grounded to LA because the LA court and therapists aren’t bending to her schedule thus she has to bend to theirs. A hard truth but that’s the way it works.

Yes, I think that you are right about some being perturbed about Pitt moving on: See Below.
I also think that there is a concerted effort by some to suggest Pitt shouldn’t or won’t have parental rights to his children and their lives. This is probably both factually wrong, in the end, and definitely morally wrong. Healthy relationships all around are just that, healthy!
There is an idea that some have that a mother and her children are a package deal in that you can’t leave one, or be kicked out, without deserting the other. It is old-fashioned, morally repugnant, and shouldn’t be encouraged. I think some over zealous Jolie fans want this and Jolie has been coy, saying she wants “healing” but filing sole custody. It has been a real sh*t show on both sides from the beginning of the end. I’ll be glad when it’s over.

Tulip garden you have your opinion but for the question I ask is why do you think Angelina’s fan detest Pitt and care who he is/or might be seeing. There is no way she is going to take him back. That ship sailed almost two years ago. He doesn’t look like he did ten years ago but looks better than he did in Dec 2016 when he looked like he had lost his wife and family. Facts. Both will be fine as they both look healthier especially her since they split and we all know some things that were going on but not all.
I think the same things that are going on now had taken it’s toll on her. People already trying to compare her to Jolie and almost try to make it seem like she is an upgrade because she is a MIT professor. Stating how impressive and yadayadayda she is. As impressive as she may sound Pitt is the one who had to clean his act up and hopefully he has because it won’t work with anyone until he changes. The same could be said for whomever she ends up with. But I think she will take it slower because she has the kids in mind. It is always the same famous or not.
I don’t think the poster meant it like that. Factually, men and women do enjoy freedom from being parents when they can and there is nothing wrong with it. Often, post-divorce, women do seem to somehow get less “me time” than men. Hopefully, Pitt and family have “healed” and Jolie will get her own “me time”. It isn’t wrong to desire it.
I do think Pitt and Jolie were locked in an unhappy marriage, on both sides. This divorce may improve relations all around. That is what I hope for.

Just saw your 2nd post. I think certain fans were heavily invested in Brangelina. They bought bought into the fantasy relationship aspect of a perfect pair with a lot of kids living globally. I think that they are especially upset at the reality that the Pitt Jolie relationship ended up to be.
I think they see Pitt as the cause of the failure. Just Pitt and his substance abuse and temper. No other factors are considered. I think this this couple were on the rocks when they wed. That was their attempt to salvage this headlining making partnership. I certainly think Pitt’s drinking and what ever happened on that plane were symptoms of their relationship breakdown but not the cause of it.
I agree that they will never be back together.
I completely agree, Tulip. She looked like she was walking the plank in those wedding photos. He had completely checked out by 2016. He was never with them, they never traveled together, and separation stories were rampant when he was shooting Allied. Their breakup was a LONG time coming. Whatever happened on the plane that night just sped up the timeline of their demise.

@tulipgarden I think they had more investments in JA and Pitt. I think there were problems longer than we know, they were just trying to stay together. But he seemed to take it harder I think because the kids did not want to be with him. I do think he has larger issues of the two but the media wants you to believe differently. He has always had those problems and will continue to. I don’t think he is absolutely clean still but it’s his life.
I believe they cared and loved each other dearly but it got too difficult. I read that she wanted out and didn’t look back.
Gotta say, if I were Oxman I would feel rather like I got the short end of the Jolie/Pitt stick. Now, on to the next thing. I am of the opinion, (and let me say that this is ONLY an opinion and it is my opinion, not anything else), that Brad is currently attempting to work things out with his current wife, Angelina Jolie-Pitt.
I’m thinking you may be correct. I can’t see why else he would file a request with the court to hold off finalizing the divorce until this December. It should have been over and done with last December.
My partner works with her at MIT and has a terrible crush on her. She’s a rock star. She absolutely can and will do better than this.
I sincerely doubt, knowing a few things that I know, and being privy to some emails, that she has anything going on with Pitt.
Privy to emails? Wow. That feels invasive if they aren’t your emails. I can see why he has a crush on her. She is beautiful and fascinating.
I can see flirtation and maybe even some dates (dinners) between Brad and Neri.. He would be very interested in her career and passions and so no pretense, where many men she might meet, not in her field, might feign interest.
But they live in different parts of the country, and I can’t see anything long-lasting being developed because of her very busy career and his that takes him off to different locations and his home base being where his kids are.

Brad has a huge problem with alcohol, and unfortunately, booze got the best of him.
He can never drink again.
He is doing everything required of him to maintaining absolute sobriety. No weed, no booze, no cigarettes.
The man loves his wife and kids, without question, and if he can turn this around, he will. He is a good man, who ended up having a problem with addiction, just like many of us have had.
Another thing, the man is not a dim bulb, nor is he stupid. I’m not sure where this narrative comes from, but it’s the totally incorrect.
Brad Pitt has amassed a fortune via his business decisions through the decades, and he rolls up his sleeves, and spends considerable time working closely with the people he hires to run his companies. The man is no dummy, trust me on that.
