Paris Hilton calls her fans Little Hiltons: ‘They just genuinely love me’

The American Meme will premiere at the Tribeca Film festival at the end of the month. The documentary focuses on social media mavens Paris Hilton, Josh Ostrovsky (@TheFatJewish), Brittany Furlan and Kirill Bichutsky (@slutwhisperer). Although the description for the doc talks about building empires, the clip of Paris talking about her relationship to her fans is kind of bleak. You can watch the embedded clip here, below are a few quotes:

On appearing vulnerable: “[I’m] talking about personal things and things that may be uncomfortable and, you know, that I would be shy to say, like in an interview on David Letterman, or something like that. I’m talking about things that I never spoke about publicly. I’ve always—even though I seem like I’ve been so public and all that—I was never really being as vulnerable as I was in this film.”

On her relationship to her Little Hiltons: “It’s amazing to watch my fans grow up because I’ve known them since they were little… I’ve been through so much in life and I don’t really trust people. I’ve just grown accustomed to being fucked over. With my fans I don’t feel like that at all… There’s not a day goes by that I’m not either texting, FaceTiming, or e-mailing my Little Hiltons. I can truly be myself around them. I know they’re not judging me, they’re not trying to use me. They just genuinely love me.”

[From Vanity Fair]

Watching the clip in the article, I really felt bad for Paris. What she is saying is sad, but how she’s saying is as well. She uses such a robotic cadence to say that she can’t trust anybody but those who worship her. In addition to the comments above, she also said she considers the release of her sex tape without her knowledge “rape” and that she hers cameras clicking even when the paps aren’t there. She sounds so… broken.

Paris said in the clip that her family worries about her giving her phone number out to fans and letting them stay at her house. Of course they’re worried – now that I know she does that, I’m worried about that, too. Paris just reiterated that she wants to become a mother as soon as possible – she can’t continue letting strangers so close to her once she has children. What will happen when she cuts her fans off from access to her? I mean, the clip shows one guy carrying a cardboard cutout of Paris around town, to parties and such. That’s not the sort of person that goes away quietly when Paris closes the door to him, you know? As for calling them Little Hiltons, I laughed at first because it’s not the most inventive moniker. But then I saw Paris posing with several fans who were Paris look alikes and the name took on a whole new, frightening meaning.

    Wait. She has a fans?

    • Dee says:

I remember the interview she gave after the sex tape was released and she said something like, “I was sad because I let down my fans”. Who on earth were her “fans” before that tape???

She does exactly what Bigly does – talk big and people bloody well believe it. Not all, but enough to buy millions of dollars of baby-prostitute perfume, or votes.

    • holly hobby says:

Yeah that’s what popped in my head too. Also Little Hiltons?!?! Is she referring to the family hotel chain?

      • Veronica S. says:

I assumed it’s a reference to Gaga’s “Little Monsters.” She can’t even famewhore creatively, I guess.

  2. Umyeah says:

I thought she signed off on the release of the sex tape and profited from it?

    • Brian says:

I believe she got around a $400,000.00 settlement from the original lawsuit they brought against Vivid and Rick Solomon. From what I’ve seen (her OTHER leaked home movies) and read I honestly don’t think it was intentional on her part to release her tape. Kim’s is another story…But, you better believe that this woman road that coattail and ultimately ain’t mad at all the attention it brought her.

  3. minx says:

I do like her hair, very cute,

  4. Dee says:

Gawd, that vocal fry of hers is unbearable.

  5. Happy21 says:

I used to loathe all that she represented – the talentless fame. And then the Kardashian/Jenners came along and Paris seemed so tame.

  6. Beth says:

She’s a has been, and I didn’t know she has fans

  7. Shannon says:

Yeah, that’s kind of worrisome – letting fans stay with her and such. Despite what she says, she sounds very, very trusting – to the point of being kind of naive. I hope she stays safe. It’s sad, because it sounds like she views them as, idk, like her only friends. It’s nice that she communicates with her fans and appreciates them, but I think she’s taking it a little too far. And wow, she is the spitting image of her mother!

  8. Tiffany says:

    She officially looks like Kathy.

Boy, The Richards genes are strong in that family.

  9. Chaine says:

She seems so stuck in the 00’s with her Juicy Couture and her imaginary fan base and her references to Dave Letterman…

  10. Anon33 says:

She is still a racist POS. Let’s not forget that. “At least she’s not as bad as the KarJenners” is not accurate. She’s worse.

  11. Ali says:

    Delusional.

  12. lucy2 says:

Don’t fall for that – she was in on the release of the film and used it to get famous and launch her “career”.
Also don’t forget that she reportedly treats her pets badly, and has been known to spout racist garbage too.
Sorry, she will never be a sympathetic figure to me, no matter how sad she wants to seem in regards to her “fans”.

  13. Reef says:

You know what’s hilarious? Hilton and Kardashians are going to have chapters written about them in mass media textbooks because they were the zeitgeist of the 00’s. If this hasn’t happened already. They really were a part in creating such diverse and outside the box revenue streams with no discernable talent and made it mainstream. It all seems obvious now but they really shaped our culture. Their impact is going to be felt for a while.

  14. paddingtonjr says:

Does she have any real friends or just “Little Hiltons” who worship her? Like the KarJenners, she seems to only surround herself with wannabes and worshippers.

  15. Veronica S. says:

    1. This is the best her hair has ever looked.

    2. I find her life mind-numbingly vapid and boring, and I can’t imagine going into my thirties just partying non-stop the way she does. I was over that scene by the time I was 25.

    3. This being said, she is relatively harmless at this point. Just another dumb, blonde rich girl with an increasingly smaller microphone. She’s lucky the worst of her behavior was back before the real social media explosion started, honestly.
