In a 5-4 decision, SCOTUS upheld Donald Trump’s revised Muslim Ban. This means that the Trump administration can refuse to allow immigrants from certain majority-Muslim nations to immigrate to this country, based solely on religion. [Buzzfeed]

Yep. And this is why if you didn’t vote for Hillary, it’s partially your fault too. The Supreme Court is so important. I HATE this!!!!

    • Lilly says:

Yeah. Way to go Mitch, you piece of sh*te.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Yes, there were too many consequences to sit out or vote for a non-viable candidate. I hope that at least a few people are realizing their mistake so that they will not make it again.

      • Killjoy says:

Honestly, the people I know who either didn’t vote, or voted third-party because they were underwhelmed by Hillary: 1) have no idea how big of a deal something like SCOTUS is; 2) probably think Trump’s f*ckery is the exact reason they stay out of politics. I hope I’m wrong…

  2. Jenns says:

Whenever anyone wants to know why Republicans support Trump, it’s because of moments like this.

Also, they agree with him on every sh*tty opinion he has. Never forget this.

    • Lacia Can says:

Yep. The only reason the establishment rethuglicans didn’t want trump was because he was so gauche. He openly admitted his bigotry and hate while they couched theirs in weasel words. He shouted out what they’d been saying with dog whistles. A horse of a different colour, that’s all.

  3. TIffany says:

    But her emails…..

    They are both the same…..

    She just doesn’t move me….

    Nothing is going to change…..

    • Jerusha says:

Don’t forget ‘The Dems fixed the primaries. That’s why Bernie isn’t Prez and we aren’t living in Utopia.’

      • Joh says:

        Fabulous pivot!

      • AnneC says:

And my personal favorite was “Hillary is such a liar”, so I’m going to not vote/vote for Jill Stein/vote trump so literally the biggest most psychotic liar in all the land can become president. (And destroy the country).

      • Tiffany says:

And how could I forget, ‘Benghazi’

There was the idiot that I worked with ( and who was not going to change their mind about anything because, Benghazi) who used that and I asked them specifically what it meant and they said they did not know but it was something bad.

I think explained it to them and said they were a moron and it scared me that they are not researching or knowledgeable about the candidates. I know that idiot voted for U BUM.

  4. BlueSky says:

    I just can’t anymore with this. I’m so disheartened…..

  5. Pandy says:

    Heavy sigh.

    • diana says:

So the US creates war and chaos around in Yemen, Iraq etc and then prevents people from said countries to seek better life and opportunities.
Fuck trump and everyone who voted for him. Seriously I wish these people the absolute worst.

      • janetdr says:

Anger and shame are my strongest emotions right now. Please let this be over soon.

  6. Jerusha says:

Ron P. hates the Dotard with a burning passion. His twitter is worth looking at.

  7. Honey says:

We need level-headed sensible decision making not blanket prejudices guiding policy or the rule of law.

  8. minx says:

We have been living in hell since November 2016. Every single day there is some new horror.

  9. Saras says:

Register to vote! Vote by absentee ballot if you can! Vote period! Make your voices heard in public with peaceful protests! March this Saturday! Call out our government officials in public and if they are too “snowflake” to handle the criticism they can resign!

    • minx says:

This is the only thing that keeps me going: There are more of us than there are of them. Even with the gerrymandering and the Fox Mighty Wurlitzer and all the loudmouth Trumpsters, we outnumber them. Our demographic is increasing, theirs isn’t. If we can mobilize and get new citizens and existing voters out, we can win. It’s our only hope, the SC is tainted.

    • Masamf says:

Exactly this. Go out and vote, its imperative, GO VOTE in every election whether it be presidential, senate, house, gubernatorial, anything and everything, just vote. This is the only way your voice will be heard, through registration and voting. Take nothing for granted no more, don’t expect other members of your party to turn out and vote while you sit this out, expect ALL Trump supporters to turn out in big numbers so your vote is crucial in countering these Trump numbers, don’t put a price on your vote stating “if so and so wants my vote they have to work for it, convince me why I should give them my vote, otherwise I’ll sit this out or write my mother’s name in” etc, just vote in any way possible, vote. Your country, your family, your values, your sanity depend on voting, just go vote.

    • Veronica S. says:

      CHECK YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION.

These same jackasses supported the voter registration purges in places like Ohio. You can bet your ass other conservative states will follow suit.

  10. broodytrudy says:

Good lord i want to be a fly on that wall when Trump dies and Jesus asks him, “So….travel ban?” and rips him a new one for all this shit before sending him to the firey pits of hell.

    • Chaine says:

If only i believed there was a hell, this would comfort me.

    • Jenns says:

Revenge is not coming in the form of Jesus. Or hell. Or Robert Mueller.

Horrible people do horrible things all the time with zero consequences–especially if those people have money and power. This is the way the world works.

      • isabelle says:

The Bible actually says this, Jesus even mentioned it. Life isn’t fair and people rarely get what they deserve, either good or bad. The Kingdom of God/Sermon on the Mount Jesus talked about a lot was a justice movement to help restore it to the poor and forgotten. Meaning it is an active participatory event and God just doesn’t make it happen. WE are to act, serve and make it happen. God never promised to just automatically “get” people. He allowed choices & if you believe in God according to scripture still allows people to make their own choices. Sometimes I’m glad I grew up poor because knew from day one about injustice. Not one single iotta of anything happening is a surprise to me. It is sometimes amusing & eyerolling to me to see people just now discovering injustice in the world.

      • Veronica S. says:

Take a chill pill, Thomas Hobbes. If people find comfort in their beliefs, let them.

  11. ktae says:

AND in addition to the horrible travel ban. The supreme court overturned a California law that required anti abortion pregnancy centers to disclose that abortion is an option and other free reproductive service the state offers. The case pitted the right to know (all of your options) vs the right to free speech. BUT the free speech was that of individuals working at the crisis pregnancy centers. They claimed the FACTS law of 2015 violated their free speech rights by forcing them to disclose all the options a woman might have.

Unfortunately this could lead to a slippery slope. The court really made a big jump on free speech protections for corporations/businesses vs individuals free speech. It could lead to challenges of what business decide they want to disclose on food labels, securities labels and much more.

    • Tiffany :) says:

This is terrifying to me. That a provider could disguise a woman’s medical options to her when she seeks medical advice is horrific.

I, too, worry about how SCOTUS has been repeatedly ruling in favor of corporations over individuals. Citizens United and so many others. Sigh. This is how we become/became a plutocracy.

      • freespeech says:

This is clearly a very terrifying ruling with serious consequences to Women and our health care, but to the scientific community too. Very Dangerous. YOU ARE RIGHT ON THIS.

5 people sitting on the supreme court are religious nut jobs and anti-democracy.

    • Veronica S. says:

Of course that didn’t get as much media attention – why would we focus on women’s issues? Christ, I am so angry.

  12. Madpoe says:

I think that squirrel is Sandy Cheeks from Bikini Bottom! 😉

  13. Aang says:

Today is primary day in NY. A lot of dems are running uncontested. But if you live in the 19th or a handful of other districts you can make a difference today!

    • Bella bella says:

District 19 dweller here — just voted!! I’m very curious to see who is going to win at the end of the day.

  14. hogtowngooner says:

I will never stop being furious that McConnell was just allowed to steal Obama’s SCOTUS pick. Democrats and the media just lamented it, instead of using the tools at their disposal to show just how treasonable that was. And the country will be paying for it for a generation at least.

  15. Wood Dragon says:

With the Supreme Court backing him, that evil man and his oligarch cohorts can take and do almost anything they want. I don’t even trust the SC to support the constitution anymore.
    Watch out, people.

    • Mel M says:

It’s so extremely depressing thinking about it all. What I don’t get is why are all of these trump supporters still has pissed off as they were when Obama was in office? They have everything they ever wanted yet everyday there is still something to screech about.

      • lissanne says:

They are still leading miserable lives and still need someone to blame. Anyone will do, but “foreigners” are a favorite target. That is Trump’s appeal for many people.

  16. Green_eyes says:

Land of the free.. not anymore. Also, at this point France May as well reposess the Statue of Liberty. 🙁

  17. Lyla says:

Ugh. I will never forgive the GOP for Thief Justice Gorsuch. 🙄

  18. Snappyfish says:

    Shameful, utterly shameful

  19. why? says:

But, but civility! This is a perfect example of why Nancy’s calls for civility fall short. The press and Democrats lost all interest in the Muslim ban and stopped pressuring the Dotard and his administration, and now the Stephen Miller has the Muslim ban he always dreamed of having.

How is Neil getting them to vote in the Dotard’s favor because before he got there, they had no intentions of ever giving the Dotard what he wanted. Now every time we turn around, Neil is making sure that the ruling always goes in the Dotard’s favor.

A while back there was story about Neil G doing some shady business and meetings. What ever happened to that story?

  20. freespeech says:

People who want to flee a violent theocracy tend to be pro-democracy. There are 5 people sitting on the US Supreme Court that are religious nut jobs and ANTI-democracy.

  21. Anare says:

Read about this decision earlier today and felt sad for this country. This is not the America I thought it was.
