Duchess Kate wore yellow Dolce & Gabbana to the Wimbledon men’s final

The Duchess of Cambridge became a royal patron to the Wimbledon Championships last year, and ever since, it feels like she actually spends less time at Wimbledon, because it’s “work” now! Kate waited until the weekend of the men’s and women’s finals to finally attend a match. On Saturday, she attended the Center Court matches with her sister-in-law Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. They watched the last half of the Djokovic-Nadal semifinal, then they watched Serena Williams lose in the women’s final. Kate was back on Sunday to watch the men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Kevin Anderson. Djokovic won easily, so it was a pretty relaxing day of tennis for the royals.

For her “date” at Wimbledon, Kate wore this sunny yellow Dolce & Gabbana dress which… is okay. I always think Kate looks so much prettier when she’s pregnant and in the postpartum months. She carries a little bit of extra weight well, and she looks younger when her face is a bit fuller. So yes, I think Kate looks very pretty here. Even though I don’t like yellow dresses and I think people should stop wearing Dolce & Gabbana because the designers are such awful people.

Interestingly, the Duke and Duchess were seated in the front row of the Royal Box, with William seated right next Prime Minister Theresa May. May has had a terrible few weeks with all of the backlash around Donald Trump’s visit, plus he wouldn’t stop insulting May in the press and then lying about what he said. Trump is the very definition of toxic. Apparently, even Prince William knew that – The Sunday Times reported that both Prince Charles and Prince William just flat-out refused to meet with Donald Trump during his British visit. A source told the Times:

“This business of Prince Charles and Prince William not being there for the Trump visit was a snub. They simply refused to attend. It’s a very, very unusual thing for the queen to be there on her own. Usually she is accompanied by somebody. Prince Charles has been substituting for Philip a lot recently.”

Prince Philip, who, at 97, has officially retired from royal duties, “goes to what he wants to go to,” the source said, adding that “if he had wanted to be there he could have been.”

[From The Hill]

On one side, I’m glad that both Charles and William put their foot down about meeting with a fascist jackass. On the other side, Charles and William both let the Queen and Theresa May take the bullet, so to speak. It’s not very chivalrous, is it?

Here’s the video of William and Kate greeting Djokovic after his victory:

    She looks amazing.

    • Noodles says:

She does and I’m envious of her figure. Three kids later, and she looks the same as ever.

      • cee says:

I don’t think she looks the same as ever – her shape has changed over the years. If you google her lingerie runway show at Uni you can see pregnancy has changed her shape. She was once called out for having no hips! (by some reporter or the likes)
Anyway, she still looks great even in a different shape! She carries pregnancy so well.

    • liriel says:

Stunning! I wonder if her hips and more hourglass figure will stay!

    • Jan90067 says:

She looks fabulous like this! I hope she doesn’t diet away her kiddie-curves 😊 She looks young and happy. Even William’s smiles and laughing seems authentically happy. Maybe they’ve both finally made peace with where they are in their lives and are embracing it fully.

    • Pandy says:

Agree, she does. I’ve never been slim like that, sigh.

  2. Thatsallfolks says:

Kate’s been looking really good lately. She seems more confident and relaxed.

    • Nadia says:

I agree! I feel as if she feels some attention has been lifted, too, since Meghan arrived so she has a little more room to breathe without everyone yelling LAZY! WAITY!

      • Leyton says:

This is true but it’s kind of sad that it takes another woman the media is ready and waiting to dog for Kate to get “praised” and left alone.

Kate’s still lazy and that hasn’t change but now she gets described as “regal” and “classy” and the “perfect royal”, against Meghan’s “rule breaker” narrative.

  3. Seraphina says:

I like her dress and I think she looks great. Which is difficult to actually say coming from me. One question, isn’t she still on maternity leave? I think the Duchess Kate break leave depending on what is going on.

And I hate to be the mean girl, but I never thought Wills would lose his looks. I remember that 21/22 year old prince. Wow.

    • Emmy says:

Yep, he really has lost his looks. It’s not just the loss of hair, it’s like the shape of his face and neck have changed with age too. He looks more compact and horsey, in lack of better word. When he was 20 he looked a lot like Diana, rosy cheeks and that slender, willowy build, whereas now he’s definitely a Windsor.

      • Becks1 says:

Yes, this! I look back at pictures of him from his early 20s/late teens (I mean, not all the time, haha, just when someone shares one or something on social media) and I think….wow, what happened? The hair loss is one thing, but something in the actual shape of his face seems different.

      • Ms. Turtle says:

Look at young pictures of Andrew and Edward. Andrew was straight up hot. But the Windsor horsey genes get them all in the end. Will likely get Harry too.

      • Amelie says:

I mean his father always looked like a geeky English dude. Even when Charles was young, he wasn’t really handsome. My mom could never get over how much Charles’s ears stuck out, it was the one thing she always said whenever she saw his picture.

      • Mel M says:

@Amelie-Young Charles was not good looking in anyway shape or form. It’s like he got all these random traits from his parents that did not go well together. For him though I actually think he got better looking with age, more handsome and distinguished looking. Idk maybe it was confidence too since he was a really sensitive shy type in his youth.

      • AnneC says:

Don’t agree. I think he looks so much better without the combover. You can see his mother in his face as he gets older.

      • Lizabeth says:

Charles’s ears do stick out but for awhile he was considered pretty hot.

        https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/4274633

    • liriel says:

I remember William at his peak – gorgeous. Kate’s aging way better!

    • noway says:

@Turtle Andrew was always the hot one, with Edward cute. Even now Andrew is still pretty good looking for an older man. No one ever thought Charles was good looking. At least for a while William was very good looking, but looks fade for most, and some more than others. I think William is adorable with his kids though.

      • Maren says:

Put a hat on Wills and he is still very handsome!!! He was breathtakingly beautiful as a young man, though. 🙁

  4. minx says:

She looks very thin again, although her face still has a little fullness.

    • Eleonor says:

And boobs! She still has them.

    • RoyalBree says:

I don’t think she looks thin at all. She looks perfect — very nice, shapely figure. Yes, she’s probably still nursing. And though I’m not a fan of yellow, I love that dress, it really fits her well. Such a difference from the yellow dress Meghan wore last week, which was too long on her and looked like a sack.

      • minx says:

Her waist and torso look very thin to me. The only place she looks curvier is her bust.

  5. merrit says:

She looks lovely – it’s cool that both she and Meghan can pull off this color! As far as “finally” attending a match this year…she’s on maternity leave. I’m the first to side-eye her work ethic, but I’m not really going to begrudge maternity leave. That said, if she can attend a Wimbledon match, she can do at least 1-2 charity/patronage visits a week.

    • D says:

I love the yellow, on both her and Meghan! That yellow dress Meghan wore was my favorite look she’s worn. This might be one of my favorite Kate looks (I tend to not like her style but she always looks lovely).

I of course love that color and can’t wear it so when I see it on people and the look good I first get jealous and then just love it.

    • I am certainty not defending anyone’s work ethic or lack thereof, but since when does maternity leave equal housebound? Imagine an employer saying hey, I saw you at a movie with your spouse or shopping with your SIL, if you can do THAT surely you can come in a couple of days a week.
Daring to be seen in public during maternity leave just isn’t a valid criticism IMO.

    • noway says:

Yes they both pull it off. Kate I think cause of her height, and she just looks pretty good in non frumpy clothes. Meghan pulls it off cause of her coloring. I agree though bright yellow as a dress color has to go. Too much big bird for me, and Dolce and Gabana shouldn’t be worn by Kate or any royal with so many non racist British designers to chose from.

  6. beatrixkiddo says:

    OMG
I actually like something she is wearing.

    • minx says:

This is a great look for her. Simple and chic and a good strong color.

    • broodytrudy says:

I think she looks great, too!

Just to nitpick, is she allowed to go sleeveless? She always wears short sleeves-almist capped- and while not fat in any sense of the world, the sleeves make her shoulders look much wider than they are. Protocol or personal choice? I was thinking between this dress, and when she went with Meghan, both of them should have been sleeveless.

      • Becks1 says:

She went sleeveless at Wimbledon once. She is allowed to go sleeveless, strapless (prob not for daytime events, but she has gone strapless for evening events), she can wear flats, open toed shoes, etc. She can even wear all black.

I say this because there seems to be so much talk about what she is or isn’t allowed to do. And really most of it is just nonsense.

    • Original T.C. says:

      +2
She actually looks vibrant and age appropriate. Less old lady McQueen please. In fact burn all McQueen clothes thanks.

      • liriel says:

Exactly. That’s a perfect summery yet classic love. The best I’ve seen her in a while. Wimbledon is her charm

  7. Kate says:

    She looked lovely.
As a French football fan whose favorite player is Nole, I am beyond extatic!!! What a weekend!

  8. Jess says:

She looks great! Her hair is absolutely glorious. There were some pictures of William looking at her with literal heart eyes, that was so cute.

She is on maternity leave until the fall, which justifies her going less to Wimbledon this year. If she had gone more, people would’ve complained about it too. And for what I saw at Go Gug Yourself the other day, Kate usually goes to Wimbledon twice so…

I saw some stupid article about Kate copying Meghan… Kate has worn yellow before, even to Wimbledon.

  9. Lola says:

I think it was good they neither Charles nor William met the Cheeto. Cheeto got the bare minimum, and only because the Queen had to. And even then she made her thoughts plain in the her subtle ways only she can do – wearing the Obama pin the day before and a dog bowl was left out for a photo opp. Wouldn’t surprise me if during tea she made animal hating Cheeto meet the corgis.

    • Prairiegirl says:

Agree. He got the bare minimum: handshake, inspect the guards, a quick cuppa, a photo, and begone with you. Why elevate him any more than what’s marginally required?

    • Dr Mrs The Monarch says:

I agree that minimizing Trump’s contact with other humans is the best policy. His interactions with the Queen were bad enough. I’m shocked that he wasn’t on twitter right after his tea time lying about how the Queen knighted him or gave him the very best crown jewels or told him that he is the best politician she has ever met.

    • Jan90067 says:

Did you notice the differences in the pic with the Belgian King and Queen the next day? No dog bowl in the hallway, TQ has a beaming smile, and they are photo’d turning in toward TQ. In Dump’s photo, TQ is grimacing (def. NOT a smile there!), and they are all turned, looking forward toward the camera, stiff like soldiers. No connection at all btwn. any of them.

And Dump thinks he scored with TQ! lol

    • Bella DuPont says:

      @ Lola

HUH??!! The Queen wore an Obama pin the day before?!

(Surely, I’m not reading that sentence right…….)

I can’t find any pictures……any chance you could post a link please? Pretty please?

    • Lilly says:

I think it’s great too. We know the Queen can put her foot down if she wants. She likely wanted the message sent too and is tough enough to take the meeting on her own. Doing it on her own really put a definitive contrast on baby-fists terrible behavior and rudeness to TQ.

  10. Elisabeth says:

It may seem like Kate attends less since becoming patron, but she’s attended twice per season since she became a royal in 2011, except in 2013 when she skipped entirely (she was about to give birth to George) and in 2015, when she came once (she had just given birth to Charlotte). I think it’s fair to say she should attend more often since becoming patron, but she isn’t attending less.

  11. Abby says:

She looks really good here! I’ve got two kids the ages of her first two and I don’t even look this slim. Not envious…

  12. SM says:

The final was boring as hell. Semi final between Djokovic ans Nadalbwas a much better match, in thier place I would be pissed this is the game I would have to sit though rather than the semi-final

  13. magnoliarose says:

D and G aren’t British and as the future Queen Consort surely she should be wearing British designers to Wimbledon. D and G are bigotted terrible people and no one should be wearing anything by them ever again. First the 1500 dollar D and G handbag and now this dress. Why two days in a row of Dolce and G?
I don’t like anything D and G designs and I don’t like those twee mini bell sleeves. I don’t like that it wrinkled so much. She wore the better dress the day before.

    • D says:

So what she isn’t wearing a British designer, Megan rarely wears them so why is Kate required too? This is just looking for a reason to attack her. No one in the royal family should be should be required to wear exclusively british designers. RME

Kate looks gorgeous here! I love the bright color and the fact she can wear yellow makes me jealous I love that color and look like death haha. Both her and Meghan should wear bright colors more because they are stunning in them.

Now if you have issue with D&G that’s valid and I get it but if you expect Kate to not wear designers because of them being problematic then you better not wear Zara cause 😬 . And no one should cheer Chanel (you know with coco being all pro nazi). And man don’t ever compliment anyone in Prada. D&G are extra and what they say makes me angry but I also know that when you research designers and various brands it gets dicey.

      • magnoliarose says:

I have said both women should be ambassadors for British design and fashion but I also understand that there aren’t enough British designers to supply the entire family for all of their photo ops. I only call it out because people were OUTRAGED when Meghan wears Givenchy even though the head designer is British.

D and G are offensive enough that their transgressions have made international headlines. I feel the same when ANYONE wears them. They should have been shunned like Galliano. So when she wears them it means others will run out and give those bigots more money.

And you are right. Investigate enough fashion houses and it can get exhausting. Only D and G’s ugliness is fairly recent.

      • Kadee says:

D, you must realize that everything Kate does is to be viewed through a prism of darkness. She is evil incarnate, don’t ya know?

      • liriel says:

D yeah! I agree. She wears enough of the British designer and this dress looks amazing on her. Btw, it wasn’t even THAT expensive. I feel like when people see Kate looking apropriate, age-apropiate and gorgeous they wants to her her.

      • Lady D says:

Slight exaggeration. She has never, ever been referred to, or thought of as evil. That’s a term reserved for filthy Trump and his ilk.

    • Nic919 says:

Haha. I see what you did there. But yes since she is on mat leave maybe she should at least wear more British designers. And let’s talk about how she was watching tennis for about 7 hours on Saturday and then another 4 hours on Sunday but she couldn’t be bothered to stay for the RAF reception because of the baby. I guess Louis starved on Saturday? Again Kate only does what she wants when she wants. She could easily handle a few engagements per week at this point if she can be away from the baby this long and on consecutive days.

All of those who are going on about Meghan’s use of non British designers are utter hypocrites and if you aren’t prepared to condemn Kate for using D and G the last two days and you have no basis to raise it for others.

      • D says:

As I clearly state I don’t care if any of them wear British designers, I think that is a crazy requirement. I don’t think American First Ladies should only have to wear American designers. It’s nice when they do and Kate and the rest British Royal family do a lot so if on occasion they don’t I just can’t get upset.

This to me is just an excuse to attack her, it is a stupid complaint and if you don’t apply it equally to all women who represent a country then you’re a hypocrite.

The anti Kate intensity on this platform is a bit unhinged.

      • liriel says:

D ditto, Kate’s almost bullied here. She does something – she steals the thunder. She doesn’t – she’s lazy. She can’t win here. Celebitchy is hating on Kate too much.

      • Olenna says:

And, the anti-Meghan intensity on this platform can be more than a bit unhinged, much of it being literally repeated from Meghan hate-sites’ comments. So, fair or unfair, Kate’s fashion choices are going to be scrutinized and commented on. Why else would CB create any of these celebrity or royal threads?

        @magnoliarose,
Kate looks good in the dress, but the sleeves are a no, and the designer a big no.

      • IlsaLund says:

@ Oleanna….totally agree. Several of the posters in this thread who are fawning all over Kate, come at Meghan with knives drawn. Their nitpicking back handed comments are petty, mean and sound just like they come from Meghan hate sites.

      • bertiebott says:

@IlsaLund, so true! It’s almost exactly the same posters whose comments I’ve learnt to avoid reading on Meghan posts who are here singing a very different tune.

      • wgb says:

“if you don’t apply it equally to all women who represent a country then you’re a hypocrite.”

This so much! They constantly call out the excessiveness of Kate but won’t (for whatever reason) for Meghan. Call out/criticise them both equally or don’t bother. Especially since most of the posters on here aren’t British or from the Commonwealth.

    • IlsaLund says:

Careful @Magnoliarose. The stans are going to come for you…..lol

      • magnoliarose says:

Lol. Probably. It just astounds me sometimes how one thing can seem to be the worst thing ever and then it is magically not a problem. I can appreciate the diehard republicans who complain about ALL spending and are consistent but the fairweather critics are something else.

      • Guest says:

I just finished reading “The Royal We”…..now when I see Kate, I think “Becks” and there is no question, I feel gentler and more kindly things now than I used to about Kate. Tho’ I think she’s settled in now, she’s always wanted 3 kidlets, as I recall. I think she looks lovely, fluttery sleeves and all. Her look is softer and less ‘angle-y’ than Meg’s and that’s fine IMO

    • Sam says:

Not a Kate defender but she did wear British designer on Sat so I guess she wanted to wear D&G yesterday.I see nothing wrong with this. She looked great to me

      • Becks1 says:

Yeah she wore Jenny Packham on Saturday, even though she carried a D&G bag which may be what people are referring to?

      • liriel says:

Exactly, one day a British designer, the next D&G. Nice compromise. But of course people love to complain.

      • Natalie S says:

liriel. Kate actually had something from D&G on both days.

Kate made a good decision wearing things from Beulah. D&G and and another Kate favorite Zara are such terrible companies. Why give them support and taxpayer money?

    • Wilma says:

I love their clothes (totally my taste), but D&G are such awful people that I wish that people who can afford to wear their clothes wouldn’t wear them.

    • Adriane says:

Except Meghan has worn nothing but foreign designers (Givenchy, Dior, more Givenchy, Ralph Lauren, Prada, Fendi).

Hell she wore Dior to the celebration of the RAF.

And not ONE Irish designer in her first trip abroad there?

For the very least she could have worn a British designer to the All ENGLAND Tennis Club that is Wimbledon. Instead she wore horrid ill-fitting Ralph Lauren.

Kate consistently wears British designers, especially for the big moments. McQueen, Packham.

Sorry, but not only is Meghan spending loads on clothes, she almost consistently wears European and American designers. Looks bad and the backlash is already here, whether her fans want to believe it or not.

      • liriel says:

Exactly. Kate’s always wearing something from the country she’s visiting and is often wearing British designers, while Meghan chose like one outfit or so? Dior to the RAF was disappointing. She knew the expectations yet she prefers Dior, Givenchy and doesn’t care.

      • magnoliarose says:

@Adriane Wrong! They both do the very same things. Kate has a closet full of British designers she could have worn to the tennis matches. Wasn’t everyone talking about the importance of repeats last week?
In your own post, you said Meghan didn’t wear a British designer to Wimbledon under an article about how Kate wore an Italian one??? AND carried a one off DG 1500 dollar purse the day before? She is wearing thousands of dollars each day.

The backlash against Meghan is manufactured out of nothing. She hasn’t been around long enough to establish any kind of pattern. What are you backlashing against that no one else in the BRF has done or does? Name something so egregious and unusual that no examples of others doing worse or the same can be found. Explain to me what Meghan specifically has ever done to anyone anywhere to earn this ridiculousness that has taken place.

And please be reasonable and not come up with the lame “place in line” or “future Queen consort” excuses that are based in fanfiction. Facts only.

      • I just hope the people bringing up Meghan in order to defend Kate are not the same ones who complain about these two women being pitted against each other in the press. Because if you’re doing that then you are part of the problem, and being a hypocrite.

Magnoliarose did not even mention Meghan, her argument was against D&G, and considering Kate’s position as she will be queen consort. If you need to change the goal posts in order to have an argument then it’s not a good argument. You are more than free to disagree about D&G, or the fact that Kate has a responsibility, as future queen consort, to support British designers, but bringing up Meghan is weak, and totally beside the point of what Magnolia said.

    • Adriane says:

Kate wore McQueen to the RAF celebration and Packham for the first day at Wimbledon. And she wore McQueen to Trooping. All British designers.

In that time frame: Meghan wore: Carolina Herrera to Trooping, Dior to RAF, and RL to Wimbledon.

Yes, facts do matter. Look them up.

The backlash comes from the fact that she’s spent thousands of pounds on designer dresses, none of which are British and she’s out spending everybody.

She’s a UK princess and she’s supposed to support the British fashion industry. Is she supposed to wear British fashion ALL of the time? No. But so far she wears it NONE of the time.

And yes, it does matter that she’s married to the 6th in line and spending buckets on high fashion dresses. The DM’s tally, even if exaggerated is a staggering sum.

      • If you have something to say about Meghan, here’s a thought, take it to a post about Meghan! This post is about Kate.

        What a surprise you’re a DM reader. 🙄

      • Maren says:

@Sophia just did a Trump. Rather than address the points, she insults the poster. That doesn’t win anyone over to your point of view, Sophia!

      • Natalie S says:

Adriane, That’s not true. Meghan has worn UK designers. These are facts not opinions so they’re easily verified.

Maren. Comparing someone to Trump is over the top. Talk about insulting posters rather than dealing with a post’s content.

      • Maren, I made my argument in another post and just did not feel like repeating myself. In short, iI wish people would stop bringing up Meghan to defend Kate, and vice versa because it’s not an point worth making.

    • Magnolia, I detest D&G as well, they’re awful people. I do like this dress on Kate though, although if I’m nitpicking, I don’t care for the sleeves. It’s nice to see some color.

      • magnoliarose says:

I like the lemon yellow too and she looks lovely. Healthy and bright. I don’t like the sleeves, as I said before but I do like the fit.

        I just can’t stand D and G. I don’t like them being promoted anywhere.

  14. Vogue says:

According to the Buckingham Palace spokesperson, it had always been planned for the Queen to greet Trump alone because it was not a state visit. It’s in line with standard practice for guest of government visits. This arrangement was mutually agreed between the Palace and the UK and US government. There was never a suggestion that other members of the royal family would take part.

  15. Becks1 says:

I think she looks nice. this dress is simple and kind of boring but the color is pretty. I thought the dress she wore when she went with Meghan was better.

  16. Jayna says:

Just okay? She looks amazing in that dress and color. Her body is slammin’ in it. I’m sure her show game is off, but she gets a 10 for the rest of her look. Well done.

  17. Linda says:

    Kate looks absolutely stunning.

  18. Natalie S says:

What a waste of money. An official engagement by anyone in the BRF, wearing clothes worth thousands of dollars and watching tennis. And why new clothes? It’s just watching tennis, so surely a repeat would have been sufficient? How much did all this cost?

Ralph Lauren, Jenny Packham, Dolce and Gabbana and whomever made William’s expensive clothes. Utter waste of money. Kate’s wardrobe and accessories to watch two days of tennis has cost the taxpayers how many thousands?

And the future queen can’t even be bothered to rep British labels for both those days. Maybe save the very problematic D&G for private use?

  19. Pam says:

A $1500 dress just to watch tennis? How much has Kate earned on her own? The amount these ladies spend on designer clothes is outrageous.

  20. Enn says:

Nice things: love the color, silhouette, and her hair. I also love that she repeated a bag and I like the style, because it’s not a dinky clutch.

On the other hand, no to D&G. Also, I was thinking about this last night but one of the best things about Michelle Obama’s fashion as First Lady was that she wore accessible pieces like J Crew and emerging American designers.

    • magnoliarose says:

I think these ladies are missing opportunities to do the same. The UK has some great smaller designers that could use some global attention. I think it would make their fashion more fun to watch and nitpick over. I keep harping on Burberry but they make some great casual clothes that photograph well.

      • Joannie says:

Why do you care? Are you even English?

      • Olenna says:

@magnoliarose, ITA with the idea of using smaller, lesser known designers. From what I’ve read over the years, there are a good many British who pay little attention to the royals or their fashion choices. Using British designers could promote more than sales of established businesses. It could motivate creative unknowns and inspire others to take a little risk and try out new British labels. Meghan gave a boost to jean and handbag companies, so it’s all possible.

      • magnoliarose says:

        @Joannie
        Because I choose to.

I think that would be a great thing. It can mean a lot to a new designer and they can be seen to be helping. Since we look at their fashion anyway why not give it a little more meaning.

I agree, Kate seems to know it’s a nice gesture to wear something from local designer when oversees so she might make some brands well known. Wasted opportunity. Frankly, her go to is McQueen. I miss the master himself, the vibe is so off. Burton took it in such a different direction, I’m lost.

Magnolia, you and I are on the same page. If they both wear smaller UK brands mixed in with accessible pieces (like Michelle’s cardigans), that would be a win all around.

If Kate prefers dresses, I get it. My coworkers wear dresses and skirts almost every day year round. I prefer trousers, and I’d love to see Meghan make them a signature. I really want to see them both re-wearing quality items (fast fashion is terrible for the environment).

When Kate got engaged she ware a dress by Issa, I believe was the designer’s name. No matter…the story is what matters; that The designer ended up going bankrupt because of the “Kate Effect”is what matters. Maybe let’s look at this whole thing sideways….maybe she’s hoping the Kate Effect will break D&G like it did the designer of her engagement dress?….Hmmmmm….does the plot thicken?

Chivalrous? It’s also the Queen and May’s jobs currently, so…?

  22. Amelie says:

I actually like Kate in yellow, she can pull it off. She has looked so happy and relaxed lately, it’s great to see her looking so well.

  23. liriel says:

When Kate delivers – she really slays it. Her figure, dress, hair, vibe – she looks so beautiful!
William also looked happy. Nice couple!

  24. Tee says:

The shape of the dress is okay on Kate. Dress is wrinkled she needs to buy material that does not wrinkle. The dress is more than 1000 pounds – it’s too expensive, wrong designer who likes to insult women and she needs to wear a british brand.

  25. AmandaPanda says:

I don’t think anyone in the royal family should wear non British (or at a push commonwealth) designers when out and about. Sorry, kids, it’s not your money so you don’t get to drop loads of it on random designers.

    D&G are awful human beings.

And I can’t get on board with wearing thousands of pounds of clothes to watch tennis. How does this benefit anyone? It’s just lazy to buy £1000 dresses when there’s probably a similar one in Reiss or zara.

    She does look gorgeous though!

  26. KK2 says:

This is one of the best things she’s worn in a long time… though I usually hate her wardrobe, so there isn’t a lot of competition. But it’s a refreshing color choice, and nice to see her in something less twee…aw crap, just saw that stupid bow and of course the sleeves are a little ruffle-y. But hey, that’s minimal ruffle and her hair mostly covers the bow. Overall, much better!

I am speaking only about aesthetics here…criticisms of the choice of D&G are certainly reasonable.

I have to say I have never been a fan of this color even on women who can carry it (I can’t). That said, I think she looks terrific in this dress, it shows off her best attributes, her small waist, full bosom, slim hips, and nice legs. (Woe is me on the slim hips bit, I could diet from now till Kingdom Come and they just won’t ever narrow!).

Hasn’t changed my dislike of the color, but I’ll admit she looks great in the dress.

  28. Cerys says:

She looked great yesterday. It was a lovely dress but a bit pricey for sitting watching a tennis game. She has plenty of other expensive dresses she could have “recycled”.
I know everyone has been commenting on how happy she and Whiny looked but to me it seemed OTT. A lot of over-acting.

  29. Vava says:

I hate those sleeves! That’s the only thing I don’t care for about this dress, and I’m not a fan of yellow – but she looks good in the color.

Beautiful hair and she’s at the perfect weight – she looks very good these days.

I like the handbag, but can only hope that someday maybe Kate will wear some interesting shoes.

    • minx says:

The sleeves aren’t my thing but I’m resigned that Kate likes little girly flourishes. I think on the whole she has been dressing more streamlined and tailored and it’s a good look for her.

  30. Talita says:

She looks fantastic! Still can’t believe she has just had another child.

  31. Hummus says:

“ever since, it feels like she actually spends less time at Wimbledon, because it’s “work” now!”

Bit harsh…she just had her third child??

  32. MeghanNotMarkle says:

Kate looks fantastic here although I despise the label and really wish she wouldn’t support such awful people. The dress is simple, yes, but it doesn’t have to be anything groundbreaking to look good. And she was only watching tennis, which makes me side-eye wearing so much money but it’s what she does. The yellow looks great and she doesn’t look like she’s shopping Carole’s closet so I call it a win. And go Will and #TeamShades. I’d like to see them all wear sunglasses more often. Going without is horrible for your vision.
