Nancy Pelosi, folk hero, stood up to Donald Trump, then insulted his manhood

Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer went to a meeting at the White House. The meeting was in the Oval Office, and they were there to negotiate with Donald Trump – in front of cameras – about the f–king wall and the budget. Trump has been threatening to shut down the federal government if the House and Senate don’t pass a budget with billions of dollars for the border wall. The same fakakta border wall which he claimed, on the campaign trail, that Mexico would pay for. What happened at the meeting was performative on all sides, but substantive too, because the majority of Americans are on Pelosi and Schumer’s side, in that no one wants to fund the wall and no one wants a government shutdown. It was also interesting because Trump lied repeatedly, and he took ownership of a shutdown, if it happens.

Most outlets – even People Mag – ran with the angle of “Trump throws tantrum, threatens to shut down government if he doesn’t get the wall he claimed Mexico would pay for.” He got played by Pelosi and Schumer and they barely even TRIED to own him. As Schumer and Pelosi left the White House, Pelosi put on her sunglasses and basically dropped a diss track on Trump, telling Politico: “I was trying to be the mom.. it goes to show you: you get into a tinkle contest with a skunk, you get tinkle all over you. It’s like a manhood thing with him — as if manhood can be associated with him. This wall thing.” She’s a folk hero. I don’t want to hear anything else about how Pelosi is “too old” or “a woman.”

Queen Nancy. She owned all three men in that room. Pence was too scared to blink.

    • Nancy says:

He looked like he was going to cry or break out in prayer. She was fearless and owned the room. trump looked like an orange that was getting squeezed for juice. Yay

      • jan90067 says:

They played him like a fiddle: good cop/bad cop. Schumer couldn’t even LOOK at Dump. They got him to do exactly what they wanted him to do: say, out loud, that the shutdown will be because/ON HIM, not dems. Yeah, “Mr. Art of the Deal” got his ass handed back to him, roasted!

And Pence was Elf on a Shelf, asleep. Words just aren’t sufficient lol

      • Hotsauceinmybag says:

@Jan Elf on a Shelf, I’m screaming lol

    • BigGirl says:

Watch the video again Did you notice by that Schumer kept his eyes on NAncy and barely looked at Trump? It was almost as though Pelosi was President and not Trump. Talk about come uppance

      • Lightpurple says:

Yes. He refused to look at Trump while the tantrum was erupting, which made Trump angrier because he didn’t want to have to deal with the strong, smart woman, who was schooling him and putting him in his place while claiming and protecting her own. Chuck was struggling not to laugh outright.

      • Nancy says:

I watched them all, more than once. Schumer was proud of her. She is a Nasty Women and trump could not bear it. Afterwards, when she went outside and put on her shades, it was like a victory march. I hope this is the beginning of something big. *He was so disrespectful like usual, but the Chuck & Nancy nonsense did him no favors. The good part is she enjoyed his tantrum, she owned him*

      • Zapp Brannigan says:

Also noticed that when Nancy was making a point that the orange Turd would reply directly to Chuck. He cannot deal with women who are not purely ornamental for him.

Also Chuck’s necktie is the same colour as Trump’s head.

      • Nancy says:

It was a misogynist’s worst nightmare. To be made a fool of in front of a camera (at his request) by a woman. The man basically said he had no problem shutting down the government for his wall. Perfection, although his cult doesn’t care, possibly, some of them are getting nervous. Lock him up! It’s a good day for us.

      • Kitten says:

All of this. It was so gratifying to watch, especially after all the work people on the left did in terms of donating, organizing, and getting out the vote before the midterm elections. This is the first time in more than two years that I FINALLY feel a level of empowerment and it feels great.

And whatever you think about Pelosi, you have to respect and admire her strength and composure. Juxtaposed against Trump, she looked like an adult admonishing a child who was having a tantrum. She absolutely owned him and it was awesome to watch Nancy do what she does best.

      • Person3514 says:

I’ll admit that I didn’t want Nancy as speaker of the house again, but after this mess I am here for here! She OWNED Trump and her little remark about a pissing contest with a skunk, LOL I am sooooo here for her if she keeps this up. Well played Nancy, well played.

      • jan90067 says:

Thing is, it will affect his base big time! Those that aren’t fed employees will not get disability checks, Soc. Sec./Medicare checks, food stamps, VA care, etc. All govt. services they avail themselves of will be down. Oh.. they WILL feel it.

      • Rapunzel says:

@jan90067- His base is to stupid to realize that it will affect them. They assume nothing will because they are the “good” guys. And many of them, even if they do understand the impact will say it’s worth it because “we need the wall.” Fu*king idiots think it’s more important to stick it to “illegals” than take care of themselves. It’s the real Trump Derangement Syndrome. And proves LBJ right- “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”

      • holly hobby says:

His garbage base (sorry I have no respect for these people) actually cheered on the shutdown on Twitter because they say they aren’t “federal employees.” Seriously that’s a very narrow view of things. If you do business as a vendor with the govt, you won’t get paid. If you receive any sort of financial assistance from the govt, you won’t get it during a shut down. Everything stops. Such clueless idiots.

      • Megan says:

Schumer was trying not to laugh. If he looked at Trump he would have lost it.

    • AnnaKist says:

      Oh, Nancy is fabulosa!

    • broodytrudy says:

McDonald Trump looks like he was about to sh*t himself.

      • jan90067 says:

He’s SO FULL of sh!t, it has to come out *sometimes*!! So yeah, constantly looks like he’s gonna sh!t himself (ie: throw a tantrum)

      • LNG says:

McDonald Trump, hahahaha. That is the first time I’ve heard that one – maybe the best yet, I’m giggling at work.

      • Cidey says:

WHY have I not heard “McDonald Trump” before this?!?!?!?!?! Brava.

      • Raina says:

Ha!! I agree. I’ve actually said McDonald Trump myself only recently. He’s a clown, was inevitable.

Pelosi, my Queen. Love the touch with the sunglasses!!
And THAT is how you do it.

    • Sadezilla says:

I said this on the tr*mp thread yesterday, but if we don’t get millions of “Pelosi is immeasurably better than Paul Ryan at being Speaker” takes I will be so pissed.

    • bros says:

nancy pelosi is like Durga, the badass hindu goddess with 8 arms each holding a different weapon who dispatched a terrible monster that none of the men were able to dispatch.

  2. RBC says:

What was the point of Pence being there? A empty chair would have given more to the conversation

    • Sandy says:

      I’m dying 🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️

    • Jenns says:

Not sure why he was there, other than to give us great meme material.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

To buck up Widdle Donny, who thought he was setting up a 2 on 2. Pence looked like he went nappy-bye.

    • Charlotte says:

A reporter on CNN referred to his creepy observing as “Elf on A Shelf”

      • RBC says:

That sounds like a horror movie “ Pence on the Shelf” Always watching 👀 and waiting …

      • Olenna says:

Someone on WaPo Youtube called him “Pence on the Fence”. Most of the comments on that vid were hilarious.

    • Original T.C. says:

Don’t you know? Pence is the scary monster in the room that some Liberals hide under the bed from. Something about Handmaiden’s tale, White female slavery etc. Maybe Trump was hoping that Nancy would agree with anything he wanted because #Pence is worse! I’m surprised Nancy didn’t hide behind Trump so Pence and his silent menace did not harm her. LOL.

    • eto says:

I had to go back and watch the video again because I legitimately didn’t even see him!

    • Really? says:

He couldn’t speak because Mother wasn’t in the room.

    • enya says:

Hand to heaven, I didn’t even SEE him until I read the first/Lightpurple’s comment above! I scrolled back up, looked at the video again, and realized, yep, there was Mother’s Husband. He was such a nonentity–and, to be fair, my interest was so taken with the other three–that Pence was completely invisible to me. Ha!

    • jan90067 says:

2 wks. to Christmas. Gotta have your “Elf on a Shelf” to report back to Santa (thought I”m sure that bunch NEVER comes off the “Naughty” list) lolol

    • Caitrin says:

      Weekend at Bernie’s 3

  3. Kitty says:

I’m surprised this was on camera, trump really acted like a child having a tantrum when they are tired.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I would not be surprised if Trump wanted it to be on camera to show off to his base how tough he is and how he can own the libs – he wanted to publicly bully and humiliate them but didn’t go so well for the Orange Man Baby. He got owned by those nasty liberuls.

      • Rapunzel says:

His base doesn’t think he got owned. They think he owned them. They’re saying stuff like, “Chuck and Nancy were practically begging for the press to go away- they wanted to hide their humiliation and lies”

There’s just no reasoning with them.

      • BigGirl says:

He sprung the press on them at the last minute, insisting that they stay after pics were taken. It is usually what presidents do. .Its why Pelosi kept saying it was best to take meeting private during exchange.

      • Lightpurple says:

He did want the cameras there. Nancy said several times that the particular conversation should take place without the media so they could hammer out details. Instead, he continued on and she embarrassed him.

      • Sadezilla says:

Did y’all see on Twitter that Ind-1 thinks Pence “lost” the meeting for him, because he didn’t stop the flow of word vomit? And Ind-1 also thinks he was set up, when Pelosi said the meeting shouldn’t be on camera? This is what happens when no one calls you on your shit for 71 years. He’s such a waste of a human brain.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Should we go so far as to say a waste of a human brain? Not sure of what’s actually inside that skull, so let’s call it a waste of protoplasm. : )

      • Digital Unicorn says:

Thanks for confirming he did want the press there ladies – I haven’t had the chance to watch the video but yeah President Pelosi!

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Yes he wanted them there, and she later told the press she didn’t because she didn’t want to have to publicly embarrass him for – bottom line – being an idiot.

      • Original T.C. says:

Of course Trump’s base saw it differently. They are a cult plain and simply. Trying to convince them of reality or truth is like trying to convince a Scientist that their “religion” is set up just to take their money and use them for free labor. Good luck.

      • Kitten says:

Five times. Five times they gave him the chance to stop the meeting and continue behind closed doors. This was all Trump. They were being nice, giving him an opportunity to save himself from public embarrassment.

@Rapunzel- Oh I know. Last night Mark Meadow tweeted about how Trump owned Chuck and Nancy. I started reading the comments but then had to stop for my own mental sanity. These people live in an alternate reality and I agree that they cannot be saved. And the thing is, I don’t care to save them. They would stay on a sinking Titanic if Trump told them to so I say, let these morons drown.
        (figuratively-speaking)

      • Sadezilla says:

LOL, WATP. You’re right, I overreached!

      • jan90067 says:

Dump and his cult… it really IS like Jim Jones and Jonestown. If Dump tells them to “drink the Kool-aid” they WILL do so, willingly, even if some of them know that it’s the wrong thing to do. THEY JUST DO NO CARE! It’s literally a BLIND following.

      • Nancy says:

Jan: I’ve been saying that since the beginning. His minions are so cult like. They’d probably readily sacrifice their first born for THE WALL. He is either the newest cult leader or the Anti-Christ, or simply an asshole. *The unbelievably sad thing about Jones is that the people didn’t willingly drink the poison at the end. It wasn’t a mass suicide, it was a mass murder*

    • Tate says:

trump wanted the cameras there. Pelosi said they should discuss off camera. The orange turd screwed himself while his VP took a nap. It was glorious.

      • Rapunzel says:

@Tate- yep. This is what he deserves to get for making the WH a reality show.

      • Nancy says:

Rapunzel, I thought about that. He is so arrogant he wants to be on camera. I love it, he can’t deny what we saw. Believe me, had there been no witness to this freak show, he would have denied it. Now he can only say don’t believe your lying eyes. If he is reelected, Americans should hang their heads in shame. He is a sick person who needs to leave….says Captain Obvious.

    • The Other Katherine says:

@Kitty — and as a woman who raised 5 children, she knows how to deal with that ish. Without breaking a sweat.

  4. Tate says:

Someone finally stood up to the orange menace.

  5. Snowflake says:

Oh that’s awesome! I didn’t know she said that. I’m glad people are finally done playing nice. He doesn’t, why should they? It feels like a change is coming

    • Who ARE These People? says:

She didn’t play nice before, but she was out of power. She’ll soon have power. The change that is coming is called electoral consequences — the power of people organizing and mobilizing for two solid and exhausting years.

      • Lightpurple says:

And she pointed out to him that she has power that he can’t dismiss.

      • Kitten says:

I loved what she said about characterizing her strength in a way as to diminish it. Vote-counting is one of her best skillsets. Guess the bloated orange narcissist forgot.

    • AnnaKist says:

I’m not even American, and I really, really, REALLY hope this is a turning point for America. The sooner the orange maggot is squelched, the better.

  6. Jerusha says:

Can hardly wait till she takes over.

  7. Upwamama says:

He’s the elf on the shelf.

  8. Fluffy says:

Look how tiny those fingers are in the last photo. Just sayin. The orange just got crushed!

  9. Maya says:

And this is why Republicans fear Nancy and wants her not to become Speaker of the House.

She was the only adult in that room and the only ballbuster.

  10. Chrissy says:

Nancy’s the BOSS! And I love how she never loses her cool. BTW, Pence looked like he was having a stroke as he was slowly sliding down his chair while grabbing at his pant legs. LOL! I bet he’s more afraid of Nancy-in-action that the delusional orange liar. Don’t mess with her.

    • Lightpurple says:

She calmly put him in her place by reasserting her place when he tried to belittle her. Brilliant.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

I read on twitter she has 6 kids, so she KNOWS how to deal with a temper tantruming toddler. He got owned and he knows it.

      • Nancy says:

DU: I was visualizing her on the podium…during the debates when he stalked Hillary like an escaped convict. I honestly believe Nancy would have shut that down. I respect her calm and her ability to put him in his place without losing her temper or raising her voice. Nothing pisses off an angry person than someone who doesn’t react to their bs. I hope this scenario is played over and over until he implodes.

  11. Beth says:

Nancy rocks! That was humiliating seeing the POTUS in front of camera say he’d be proud to shut our government down, and see Pence sit silent and too petrified to step in and stop the tantrum. I hope Mother tells Pence to stop being such a wimpy loser

  12. Parigo says:

She is such a BOSS. Trump wanted the exchange to be public so he could look authoritative and got his as# handed to him. So satisfying to see people call out his bs for a change.

  13. Michelle says:

His body language and his talking over of the only (smart, intelligent, strong) woman in the room speaks volumes. This man cannot handle a strong woman in his presence.

  14. OriginalLala says:

I was so happy to see her owning him like that! needs to happen more often!

  15. Rapunzel says:

Fu*k Trump for his willingness to proudly shut down the Government.

Fu*k his supporters for being okay with this. They don’t even care if people (including the military they claim to support) go without pay during Christmas. One supporter I know was like, “They’ll still get paid; it doesn’t matter if it’s late”. I was like, “how would you like someone supporting a late paycheck for you at your job?”. Nutjob was like, “it’s your fault if you live, paycheck to paycheck. I wouldn’t care cause I save money like a smart person.”

Fu*k Trump and Cult 45 for not living in reality.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Nutjob is not a nice person.

    • Veronica S. says:

Dude, *I* am sturdily middle class with savings (and no kids!), and losing two paychecks during the holiday would put me in a tough position. Nutjob really has no idea of the economic realities the majority of the country is dealing with apparently, because most MIDDLE class people are now one or two paychecks away from economic hardship due to the costs of real estate and debt according to most studies.

      • Rapunzel says:

Irony of ironies: this nutjob is in the same position as you. She couldn’t afford a late/lost paycheck any more than most people could. Hell, I just found out a bonus was gonna be a month late and I had to transfer funds out of savings. A bonus. Life is freaking expensive unless you want to live with nothing.

      • Christin says:

@Rapunzel, it’s not surprising that someone who would brag like that is in a similar boat, but won’t admit it. When I read your first comment, my guess was that they probably save 5 dollars a payday, if anything at all, and would be crying out loudest if they missed a paycheck.

      • Veronica S. says:

Honestly, what baffles me is that we’re literally only a decade after a massive recession that revealed just how easily the middle class could collapse into poverty. How long did it take those families to lose their houses in the marketing crash? A matter of months? After years of faithful payments? There’s a reason why the homeless stay homeless for so long. The crash comes far faster than the rise for anybody but the wealthiest.

    • Nicole(the Cdn one) says:

My dad was in the military (in Canada) and the issue shouldn’t be whether they can afford to go without several paycheques – the issue is that they shouldn’t be used like pawns in a polical game and be forced to go through that. Members of the military chose to serve the public interest as determined by their government. it’s not too. Much to ask that the government give a modicum of consideration for their best interests in return.

      • Rapunzel says:

“the issue is that they shouldn’t be used like pawns in a polical game”- Amen, Nicole. They’re pawns in Trump’s game, with the caravan stuff and now with the shutdown looming. Pathetic.

  16. Lala11_7 says:

THIS is who I’ve always known Nancy and most Dems in Congress to be…even when folks don’t go out and vote and give Dems in Congress the support they need…when they get on that stage…THEY FIGHT!!!!

What we saw yesterday with Nancy…was not exceptional behavior for her…That behavior is HER RULE…I’m glad folks are FINALLY seeing it….

I’m hoping that people REALLY engage and start watching more Congressional hearings and votes that are televised on C-SPAN and other channels offering that transparency….it’s fascinating and allows you to see for yourself…your tax dollars and votes working…FOR YOU!

    • Who ARE These People? says:

      Hear hear!

When I tell people I contact my politicians regularly they are so shocked. It’s like they think I have tea with the queen. People, call them, email, write: You pay their salary. They work for you. Tell them how you feel and what they think. Otherwise they will listen to their donors and to the extremists, who *never* shut up.

      • Lightpurple says:

My great aunt (age 89) who lives with me has had some recent problems with Social Security and IRS. Neither agency has sufficient staff, thanks to GOP congress refusing to adequately fund and thanks to Trump driving workers away in droves, so dealing with the agencies has been such a nightmare. I contacted our congressional representative Katherine Clark on both issues. What took us months with the IRS took her office two weeks. The Social Security issue was resolved with one phone call. Their job is to work for us and my rep does.

      • adastraperaspera says:

@Lightpurple, your aunt is lucky to have you! On this same note, we recently had an acquaintance pass away in Europe while on vacation. Rep. Steve Cohen arranged everything for the family, to make for an easy transition to get their loved one back home for a proper funeral. Just the kind of thing you would never imagine happening–a great help.

      • Nancy says:

I was going to say the same thing. This is how it should be done. Family taking care of family. I am sure there are advantages to both of the ladies, learning from and caring for each other. 💕

      • Jessica says:

I formerly worked as legislative staff in my Congressman’s office. If they have good field staff, that is exactly what constituent services agents do. We had awesome ones.

      • Ashley says:

@adaspra rep steve Cohen is my rep too! He’s also my neighbor. Great guy!

    • Veronica S. says:

Yeah, I’m kind of baffled by people who think of Pelosi as a nothingburger. Is she perfect? No. Has she supported things/done stuff that I didn’t like? Of course. But this idea of her being ineffective is a partisan construct. No woman in power as long as she has without something to show for it. She knew exactly who and what she was dealing with when she entered that room. She’s here to get things *done.*

      • Jayna says:

Amen, Veronica. I have always been Team Nancy. She is one tough woman. They all do things we don’t like at times. I look at the overall picture and what is best for the party.

  17. Eric says:

Low Energy Pence was slipped the magic mushrooms by Mother because he was in a room with a woman unattended by Mother.

Best meme was Chuck and Nancy leaving and, while Chuck is looking down towards the ground, he says:

Nancy you still have some of Donakd’s ass on your shoe.

    💥💥💥💥🔪💥💥💥💥

    • Esmom says:

WTAF was up with Pence? I’m honestly perplexed at what he thought he was doing.

Haha on the meme, so perfect. But as others have noted, sadly the deplorables didn’t see it that way. I am at a loss about how to combat such an utter denial of actual reality.

      • Christin says:

Someone on TV this morning mentioned Weekend at Bernie’s, and they had to be talking about MP. He would slowly turn his head at times, like a robot. Or perhaps Andrew McCarthy was hidden behind him. LOL

      • The Other Katherine says:

Maybe he took a little too much of Mother’s secret stash of anti-anxiety meds that she thinks he doesn’t know about.

  18. Nev says:

    Boss Nancy. Hahahahaha

  19. Swack says:

Waiting for Trump to deny he said that he would own the shut down. This wouldn’t be the first time he said one thing (that was recorded and could be easily verified he said it) and then try to play off like he didn’t say it. There are also a couple of other interesting articles out there. One is Sarah Sanders saying she hopes that she is remembered for being “transparent and honest”. The other is about how the government is paying $297 million to a company to help find 5000 border patrol agents and so far have only found 2.

  20. Rapunzel says:

Stable genius is now whining that he deserves 5 billion for the wall cause Obama gave Iran (read: unfroze) 150 billion (add: of Iran’sown money).

Gosh, I wish he’d said that to Nancy.

    • Beth says:

Someone needs to explain to insane Individual 1 that that was Irans money in the first place, Obama wasn’t just handing out American taxpayers money. It’s always a face palm reaction to me everytime Trump or one of his diehard supporters talk about Obama and Iran’s money

      • Lightpurple says:

People have. All the right-wing extremist pundits peddle this lie and that’s where he gets his views. Charlie Kirk was posting that crap last night. He reads Kirk.

  21. Trashaddict says:

“We caught 10 terrorists, we caught 10 terrorists, we caught 10 terrorists….” Might I point out, Mr. president with a lower case pee, we caught them without the freakin’ wall. I’m pretty sure he wants it for all the damn contracts. All he can see is $$$$$$$$$$.

  22. Eric says:

Boss Nancy representin the Snarky Gangstas from CA. Along with Schiff, Lieu, and Swalwell.

Whenever they appear on TV, they have to don Nancy Shades after kicking ass and taking names.

    #bossnancyshades

  23. Iknow says:

This is why all of those weak, idiot so-called “Blue Dog” Democrats need to wake the hell up. Nancy Pelosi is the standard for what a speaker and leader should be. She keeps her people in line by showing them respect and knowing when to cut deals. She stands up to the other side and knows what the hell she is talking about. There is a reason she is vilified and feared. She is a warrior that’s been taught by her father and brother, who navigated through Baltimore politics. She owned that room yesterday with power and grace, despite Trump and Schumer both, talking over her or interrupting her.

  24. Karen says:

So proud of Pelosi. I worked for someone like Trump. When I talked back to him he would be furious. He would say “I am the boss,” Arrogant, misogynist men hate strong women. Pence was waiting for “mother” to bring him his lunch. Creepy.

  25. Lindy79 says:

He even turns the shutting down of Government into a pissing competition, with that pathetic comment to Schumer about how it didn’t work when he did it but it’ll work for him with a big smirk on his face. Fuck the American people, I’m gonna WIN!!!! It’ll be the bigliest shutdown ever, huge, very bigly, the best ever!

  26. adastraperaspera says:

Trump likes fighters, so I think on one level he relates more to Nancy and Chuck than all the yes-men around him. However, he made a mistake thinking that he’s at their fighting weight. Asking the press in to create a show backfired on him. If the deplorables think it worked out because he threw some sand in their faces, it doesn’t matter. Nancy knows the game better than anyone, and if she said she won the round then you know she did!

    • Ashley says:

I commented up thread but I think I tagged you incorrectly. Rep Steve Cohen is my rep too! Are you in Memphis? 🙂

  27. Dee says:

She is awesome (and I LOVE her coat! Do we have an id?)

    • Jerusha says:

Don’t know, but she does look great, doesn’t she? Power dressing!

    • Lightpurple says:

Love the coat and the shoes! And the shades!

    • Nancy says:

I’ve been trying to find out and have been unsuccessful thus far. She loves red and wears it all the time. I’m not really a “Nancy,” but like her wear my shades all the time. Nasty bitches, and pu$$y hombres. Ha!👗👠😎

  28. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

    pwned. Utterly and completely pwned.

  29. Digital Unicorn says:

I guess Nancy doesn’t like mushrooms!

  30. Jerusha says:

In case you missed Colbert last night, he covered the meeting and had this to say, “So the wall is a metaphor for his manhood? No wonder he’s having trouble erecting it.”

    Individual-1 is an international laughingstock.

  31. TheOtherOne says:

Chuck cut off narcissistic supply by not looking at him and looking directly at Nancy all while letting a woman school and challenge Donald on the facts and reality. I had to rewatch this morning and I see this was better played then I thought. Madame Pelosi, welcome back to the Speaker of the House.

    • paranormalgirl says:

Chuck also informed orange 45 that “you can’t shut down the government just because you don’t get your way.”

      • Nancy says:

He makes his own rules, fortunately they are not Constitutional. I’m quite sure he believes he can do as he pleases, fortunately for us, he can’t.

  32. JRenee says:

Thank goodness the Dens rallied to keep her as leader. That leadership is critical right now.
He has no clue about how this works.
Can’t imagine if they had the House and Senate..shut this foolishness down!

  33. M.A.F. says:

We need to take cue from the French. Not necessarily bust out the guillotine and start a riot in the streets but we definitely need a revolt because this is getting old. The government works for the people, not the people bowing to the government.

  34. Chef Grace says:

Pence is who I watched. That creepy fucker makes me afraid. You know he was sitting there like a trap door spider. Just waiting for his turn at being prez.
He knows. Like someone pointed out, he is like an evil elf on the shelf.

    • flebel says:

Pence could be our President soon. How scary is that? !!!

      • Fluffy Princess says:

He’ll never be president. He’s a dirty as the rest of them, and he’s in deep with Russia. The ONLY thing Pence is better at is keeping his mouth SHUT and trying to be invisible. His turn in the barrel is coming.

      • flebel says:

That means Pelosi could be President. How scary is that? An improvement, for sure, but not my first choice.

      • Dara says:

It does NOT mean Pelosi could be president. How many times does presidential succession have to be explained?

The only way Pelosi would be president is if both Trump and Pence were removed from office at the same time. I guarantee the Republicans in the Senate would never let that happen.

      • flebel says:

I would not be so hasty with that conclusion – if Pence is as dirty as Fluffy P and others think, they could both be gone at the same time. And I am not ignorant of the succession process.

      • Dara says:

@flebel, I think both of them are compromised too, but I cannot conceive of a likely scenario that doesn’t allow the sitting president – whether it be Trump or Pence – to be in office long enough to nominate a VP and have that person confirmed by the Senate.

Do you honestly think they would both resign in disgrace within days of each other? I don’t. If the findings of the Mueller investigations are truly dire and the entire country turns against them, I can see one or both resigning, but those resignations will be coordinated and there will be enough time between them for a new (Republican) VP to be named.

The only other option would be impeachment proceedings for both making their way to the Senate simultaneously and then for the Senate voting to convict and remove both, again within days of each other. In what world is it realistic to expect Mitch McConnell to allow that to happen?

      • flebel says:

@Dara. I concede to your points. You have this well thought out. Wonder who are the possible choices. Is this where Paul Ryan gets back into the DC scene?

    • Dara says:

The only positive to Pence is that he doesn’t seem to inspire the blind, irrational loyalty the cult of Trump does. I think his base would be smaller and far less vocal.

      • Chef Grace says:

Pence’s base are the evangelicals who are just as bad as 45′ s base. They are the religious nutters who will strip us women of ALL our rights. We will be back in the stone ages when Pence takes office.

  35. Jayna says:

That gif is everything. Thank you. It lifted my spirits.

  36. Fluffy Princess says:

THIS is why Pelosi has been in Congress since the 80s. She’s a BOSS.

Did you notice that she wore an Orange coat and Schumer’s tie was also Orange? Shade? Coincidence?

    Either way, this was TASTY.

Ana Navarro from CNN, who a republican strategist, literally brought POPCORN and ate it on air while discussing things on CNN last night. She kept saying, “I could watch this on loop all day” *munch, munch, munch*. She even said she’s not a fan of Pelosi, but her performance yesterday made her day! hahaha!

Oh and it was masterful how when Trump said he’d shut it down, that she IMMEDIATELY called it the Trump Shutdown, so he couldn’t blame the democrats. BAM!

  37. flebel says:

If you go on You Tube and watch the whole event, you will see there are over 30,000 comments right now. You have to read some of them – it is downright terrifying (and depressing)! The Trumpsters are out there in large numbers – their comments are incredible in how they see this country and political situation. One suggestion – make sure that you have a strong stomach when you start to read them – then go have a stiff drink and pray for this country.

    • Amelie says:

Ugh yeah I read a few comments on the White House channel. There aren’t as many comments there but these people are so deluded. They sound exactly like my uncle who passed away this summer did, constantly posting anti-Obama/Hillary posts to his Facebook and sharing posts from Infowars and Breitbart. I miss my uncle and I hate to say this but sometimes I’m glad he’s no longer here for all this… I can’t imagine how insane his Facebook posts would have gotten (I was no longer his Facebook friend when he died as he had unfriended me some years before since I didn’t follow his newsfeed… all childish and petty behavior). I hope he realizes just how wrong he was when he was alive wherever he is in the afterlife.

    • Raven says:

That is not surprising that’s the average YouTube comments response on anything. You can post a a video of puppies playing in grass and you would get some of the vicious, racist, nastiest comments you can imagine.

The internet trolls live and breathe on YouTube.

    • Tiffany :) says:

” The Trumpsters are out there in large numbers…”

      You mean the Russians?

Don’t forget that just because the 2016 election is over, it doesn’t mean that international influence campaigns aren’t still out there trying to cause conflict. Especially online and in social media. I am sure true Trumpers loved his performance, but they represent only a small fraction of the American people.

  38. Amelie says:

I haven’t watched any video clips yet but I saw coverage of this last night and was like man oh man, everyone who was against Pelosi being Speaker of the House again must feel pretty stupid. And I just saw Michael Cohen got 3 years in jail. The clock is ticking, Donald.

  39. Eric says:

36 months for Emperor Zero’s fixer.

With more cooperation, Cohen can shave that sentence down to probably a year in prison.

And he still has a lot to offer!!

    💥💥💥🔪💥💥💥

    • flebel says:

Yeah, the Fixer has taken his bullet for tRump. However, I have to tell you – the images of him coming into court this morning assisting his totally distraught daughter was heart-wrenching. I have no idea if she has a permanent disability requiring a cane. or just a temporary injury, but it added to the impact. It is important to remember that paying the penalty for the commission of a crime is difficult for the family, not only the perpetrator.

  40. Jaded says:

“We caught 10 terrorists, we caught 10 terrorists, we caught 10 terrorists….” What about the mass shootings Donald!?!? They were HOME GROWN terrorists….funny how the Rethugs never mention that. The enemy is from within you moron, not from without.

  41. Nat says:

I am glad that you guys feel so optimistic, because I don’t really see much cause for celebration. Yes, Trump looked weak and petulant, as always, but I feel like the most boss move Pelosi made was put her shades on, which is… not much?

  42. Abbess Tansy says:

    Nancy is the champion, period.
Nancy’s coat is either Carolina Herrera Fall 2017 Funnel Neck coat, Goat (the Gainsbourg) or Max Mara. Via Twitter

    • Christin says:

I was trying to find a “high neck women’s coat” after seeing here, and found one described “funnel neck” at Old Navy for about 50 dollars. The neck looks very similar, but it does not come in red or orange. I’m sure hers is wool and probably ten-plus times more expensive.

  43. Liz version 700 says:

Nancy is a superhero. She showed everyone why she belongs in charge. And what the heck was going on with Pence? He looked like he was trying to stop an IBS attack or praying for the rapture to hit right now… even Chuck was a bit fiesty I actually felt good after watching the news. Forgot what tgat even felt like …

  44. flebel says:

AMI, the company of the National EnquIrer, and Trump’s good friend David Pecker, has just admitted that their $150,000 payment to Karen McDougal, was done in consort with the Trump campaign for the purpose of silencing negative information that could influence the election. This is significant as it directly links the campaign to the hush payment and eliminates the excuse that the timing was a coincidence (which only Trumpsters ever believed). Election Campaign Finance crimes confirmed – and who still believes tRump wasn’t directly involved? I know, millions of tRump loyalists, sadly.

    • Fluffy Princess says:

OOOOH BAM!! That’s a double whammy–once from Cohen and a back up from the National Enquirer. I think the owner David Pecker (such an apt name for a gossip monger) got full immunity too–like the Trump Org CFO Weisselberg. To get such a sweet deal that means Pecker opened “the vault” and gave them EVERYTHING. Otherwise, he’d be looking at jail time too. . .

  45. Mel says:

Hey, she told him that she didn’t want to play this out in front of the cameras and Baby man is so in love with the camera that he went for it. Dude, don’t bring your pocket knife to a gun fight.

    • Olenna says:

Hear, hear! Your comment reminds me of the movie Tombstone. Nancy Pelosi was like, “I’m your huckleberry”, and she took him out just like Doc Holliday did Johnny Ringo, smart and quick.

  46. entine says:

I can’t with him interrupting constantly, especially the female representative. I just can’t. He’s making a show for his voters, being louder when she tries to talk. just. can’t.

  47. Joh7446 says:

It was supposed to be a closed door meeting.
Trump called in the press as Nancy and Chuck were arriving.
