Khloe Kardashian used to be the most natural Kardashian sister. I remember that – it was years ago. At some point, Khloe just became the fakest Kardashian. Everything about her is fake, manufactured, plastic, nipped, tucked or plucked. Fake hair, fake lips, fake ass, fake nails. Her nails in particular have got people riled up – Khloe posted this photo of her giant fake claws on Monday and her comments were full of questions and nail-shaming:

She’s a doting mother to her daughter True. But Khloe Kardashian’s extreme new nails are raising some eyebrows amongst her fanbase – who question how she can change her eight-month-old’s diapers while wearing them.

‘Hoe do you wipe,’ asked one, while another commented: ‘Clearly you don’t change diapers with those claws.’

[From The Daily Mail]

I don’t have privilege about a lot of things, but I do have nail and hair privilege. My hair is thick and full all the time, and my nails are strong, they grow fast and look like I have a French manicure naturally. My nails are constantly too long, but it’s usually an accident, because I forget to trim them and then I’m like “damn, why can’t I type?” But when I say my nails are too long, I mean they’re just a normal length, they’re not these crazy claws. I find it hard to function with normal nails – Khloe really must not do anything when she has on these Lee Press-Ons or whatever the f–k they are.

I wouldnt ever call her the most natural Kardashian, that was Kourtney

Agree on the nails tho, my natural nails grow fast and as soon as they get to a certain point I cannot type or text. I know its the style now but I have no idea how people function with long ass nails? She is def not changing diapers and if she is she must get a ton of baby shit in her nails

    • AnnaKist says:

Her, natural? She looks like a completely different person from a few years ago.

Apart from anything else, her talons look disgusting…yeech. To each their own, though, but I doubt she does very much at all in the way of mothering or housework.

    • Swack says:

I taught computer programming at one time and girls with these long nails (I asked) type with the tip of their nails and not the pads of the fingers. Also, how unsanitary are these nails – and not just changing diapers.

      • Lady D says:

I bartended and one of my waitresses had nails like her. Didn’t slow her down in the least. I learned something watching her work.

    • Valois says:

I have long nails (they’re obviously not nearly as long as hers and mine are natural, not gel) and I type with the tip of my nails. Doesn’t feel unnatural or uncomfortable at all. But again, her nails are a whole different league.

  2. Trillian says:

Aside from the practical aspects, they look horribly cheap and tacky. But then again, so does the entire clan in almost every aspect.

    • Kitten says:

Tacky and ridiculous. As you said, like everything about this family.

    • nb says:

Agree… considering how much money she has those nails look really bad. Too thick and not natural at all. If they were well done it would be a lot better!

  3. Mel M says:

Same, as soon as I have an issue texting I cut them and then I love the feeling of having them short and texting super fast ha!

  4. HelloSunshine says:

I can’t imagine she’s changing diapers with those things on. Or even changing her baby’s clothes. How would she be able to do that without it taking 10 minutes lol

  5. KatieBo says:

    That baby is ridiculously cute.

  6. jwoolman says:

Since they’re fake, can they be easily removed and reattached? Maybe she doesn’t wear them when at home. She can have a nanny do baby stuff when they’re attached. Maybe she has a bladder and colon of steel also, since personal hygiene would seem a tad difficult as well.

I can’t stand nails that extend past the fleshy part of the finger myself. Just hate the way they feel in general, but especially on piano or computer keyboards. A friend was into long nails when we were preteens in the pre-computer era. She had to hold her fingers horizontal (rather than curved) to play the piano.

    • Kerfuffle says:

No, they do not easily come off. They are adhered to the nail and have to be removed with a solvent.

      • Carmen says:

I inherited weak nails, alas, so I had wraps on mine for 25 years . I just soaked the wraps off last night. Underneath the wraps my nails were a mess. It’s going to take months to get them back into shape.

      • lkf says:

        Take biotin.

  7. mint says:

Did people honestly believe that she does things?

    • Pandy says:

Right? None of them do! Can we make 2019 the year of no Klan? Until Kanye and Kim divorce. Then we can have at it.

    • lucy2 says:

Absolutely. None of these idiots do anything besides fuss over their (always changing) appearance and take selfies.

I was hoping they’d continue to fade away. I’m all for no more posts about them.

  8. Beth says:

I can’t stand having long nails, and Khloes look as fake and cheap as press on nails bought at Wal-Mart. True must be petrified when she sees her mommys claws coming anywhere near her

    • Kitten says:

That was my first thought as well: the kid must be terrified of Mama Claws.

Speaking of claws, you know who WOULD love her nails? My cats. They absolutely love it in the summer when my nails grow out because they get prime scratches on their cheeks and between their shoulder blades 🙂

  9. Boodiba says:

She really made herself better looking though! #tenacity

  10. Becca says:

Nail shaming? Let’s stop with defending the shameless. Those talons are gross and need to be called out.

  11. Nicegirl says:

I love long nails, faked up or otherwise.

I think hers are too long for daily tasks but I’m not a claw/talon hater myself.

ps. Also am a licensed nail technician, so

  12. teehee says:

Never ever would I put those stupid boots on a baby. Why they gotta press the kids into some imagined trend mold so soon already….

  13. Usedtobe says:

I have freaking long ass acrylic nails but they are NOT even close to those daggers Khloe has hanging off of her fingers. Mine are needing to be a little shorter now because I’m having a hard time typing. I also have them more oval shaped. However, I do not have children and I don’t change diapers very often. It would be impossible. And the likelihood of ending up with baby grossness underneath them makes it unsanitary and gross.

  14. HeyThere! says:

    First, True is the cutest!

I nannied in college and over every summer pretty much before I had my own kids. I wouldn’t even wear earrings or rings because a scratch on a little one was not what I wanted to explain to parents! When a babies head is up on your shoulder, they can absolutely be scratched by a diamond stud! I kept my nails short for obvious reasons, also. So I especially have zero idea how she deals with anything. Lol

  15. Winnie Cooper's Mom says:

Maybe it’s her way of subtlely saying “I have these nails BECAUSE I don’t have to do anything.” Back in the ancient days, it was seen as luxurious to have porcelain skin, because it proved of your wealth that you didn’t have to labor outside in the sun. Is this the 2019 version of that? “Because I don’t have to lift a finger to do anything of substance, I can afford a lifestyle of wearing talons.” New level of vapid stupidity if you ask me!

    • lingli says:

In China pale/light skin is still considered a status symbol because dark/tanned skin is associated with working outdoors and being poor. Hence the popularity of skin bleaching (and the presence of bleaching chemicals in regular moisturizers and skin products).

What I was also thinking, though, was that I’m sure I read somewhere that historically in China super long fingernails were also a status symbol because they made it impossible to do domestic tasks and so signified how rich you were (because you obviously had lots of servants to do that stuff for you). It’s funny to me that Khloe clearly has just as many staff as those ancient Chinese ladies (and has clearly invested hundreds of thousands of dollars, not to mention multiple hours every day, to look the way she does) and yet she tries to maintain the illusion that she’s just a “regular mom”. Sure Jan.

  16. LolaB says:

Do they still make Lee Press-On Nails???

  17. Ula says:

I wear claws lime that and I function very well, thank you very much. You just get used to it. Hers may actually be easier to wear because of the coffin shape (I wear stilettos). The only problematic thing for me is buttoning up a shirt, the smaller the buttons the worse :p

    • meh says:

Word. I don’t even have fake nails but I’m feeling so protective of all my girlfriends who have them and love them. Some of these comments are so rude.

  18. BeeCee says:

*Raises hand* Nail Tech here: To each their own honestly. She probably functions just fine with those nails, and they are most likely acrylic or gel based on the apex of those (press on’s would pop off super fast without that bulk there to keep them strong)

My nails are about 1cm past the free edge, stiletto, and I don’t have any issues functioning with them, I even wear contacts and have no problem putting in and taking out the lenses.
And they make the best head and back scratchers (as per the hubby)

Whenever people ask how girls with long nails wipe, the answer is… the same way everyone else does, just with a little extra toilet paper or baby wipes LOL

  19. Gutterflower says:

I legit thought that top pic was the other uber fake one….blanking on her name…..
Edited to add Kylie! That one. Jeepers.

  20. Veronica S. says:

Gotta be honest – as somebody who worked in the medical field, all I can think about is what gets caught underneath those nails.

  21. SM says:

Why in God’s name? Not only impossible to do anything, but also looks horrible.

  22. Carlotta says:

I feel the same way about Cardi B’s nails. Unhygienic af without a kid. Add in diapers and spit up and baby food. So gross.

  23. Barbara Owens-DeWitt says:

Ummmm….how does she use the restroom?

    • meh says:

Probably the same way you do.

      • DahliaDee says:

Right? That question baffles me. Now “how do people pull up their panty hose with those nails” I can understand. Also, long nails are much easier to clean than very short nails.

    • Helen says:

she (and most likely everyone she knows) probably has one of those japanese toilets, making the wiping a non-issue.

  24. Sunnydaze says:

That pose!!!!! WHY??????? It’s 2019, can we please cancel that ridiculous finger by the mouth selfie pose? PLEASE?????

  25. AMAyson1977 says:

Waaaaayyyy back when I used to get acrylic nails applied (like back in the dark ages of the early 90’s) the shape/length that Khloe’s nails are here was how they looked after the tech put them on but before they clipped and shaped them. I think it looks crazy, and it’s definitely not practical for the mom of a small baby, but I would just assume she has “people” to do everything for her.

like many PP are saying, I also kept my nails super-short when my kids were tiny, and was very vigilant about scratches from jewelry, etc. (even washed my clothes in Dreft and quit wearing perfume when my oldest was diagnosed with eczema to avoid giving him a rash) but my hair stylist is an awesome single mom of a just-turned-one year-old, and her nails are the super-long, pointy ones. She functions just fine, she’s a fabulous and very accomplished stylist AND and she’s very much a hands-on mom, so it can be done.

  26. CairinaCat says:

I don’t think after wiping my and the baby’s butt, I’d have my finger next to my nose like that.
Unless she is sticking her fingers in bleach every 5 minutes, gross

  27. Jag says:

Kylie has her fake, big lips, and now Khloe has her fake, big nails. For attention.

My mom was blessed with beautiful natural nails. My sister got them, too. They look like long gel nails, but they’re real, long, and strong. At least I got my mom’s cooking ability, which is something I’d rather have these days. lol

  28. Cee says:

I have nail privilege too (does not extend to the hair on my head, unfortunately) but I used to have a peer at school whose nails were super long, just like Khloe’s. Hers were natural and were a conversation starter with strangers. She was able to do everything I did, though, it just took her longer. However, I don’t know if this would be the case with fake nails.

  29. Lis says:

She used to be my favourite because she seemed more normal … it really is too bad how much she has Kim-ified herself. I really hope Kendall doesn’t follow in her plastic sisters footsteps.
