Last week we talked about how hard it can be to find clothing on Amazon. The fashion and clothing section isn’t as user-friendly as their other sections. There are some real bargains buried there, including affordable options for plus sizes. Thanks for requesting that last week and here are some of the best pieces I found, most of which are available in a range of sizes.
Great-fitting jeans you’ll want in several colors
Comes in sizes 2-24. These Gloria Vanderbilt jeans have over 2,800 reviews with a score of 4.3 out of 5 stars. I’ve owned several pair of these Amanda jeans throughout my size journey and loved them. Women write that they’re soft, comfortable and “are not your skinny jeans with no fit, they fit everywhere!” Many reviewers decided to buy more colors. One person writes that the pants still fit her well, even when she’s different sizes. “I struggle to lose weight, but usually fluctuate in a 30lb range. No matter where I am on that range, these pants always fit comfortably… even if I [reach my goal weight] I doubt I’ll buy a different brand because these just fit my womanly body so well.”
A versatile henley you’ll want to wear all weekend
Comes in sizes 1x to 7x. I have a lot of clothes, but my go-to pieces are always long sleeve shirts in black and gray. This v-neck henley has a little hoodie and comes in black, navy and gray. Reviewers say “It has the ease of a normal sweatshirt, but looks a little more chic,” that it’s “soft and comfortable” and that they wish there were more colors available. Here’s a similar cute v-neck hooded henley for sizes XS to 2XL.
A comfortable maxi dress you can layer
Comes in sizes XS to 2XL. There are so many options when you layer dresses with t-shirts, turtlenecks, cami tops and jackets. This dress has a 4.2 star rating with over 2,000 reviews! It has options of racerback or long sleeve with so many color choices. It has pockets too. One woman calls it “a tall girls dream” and says it fits her beautifully. It’s also said to be lightweight but not see through at all.
A pretty nightie that’s comfortable too (NSFW links)
Comes in sizes XS to 2XL. This is the number one best seller in plus-size lingerie. It’s said to be very comfortable, super affordable at less than $20, and it looks so pretty on. It also fits a range of bust sizes without sagging or gapping. One reviewer writes “I am an A cup (5’5” 130 lbs) and usually have a hard time with lingerie, but I got a medium and it fits perfectly.” A woman who is a 36DDD writes that “The XL fits fairly well. Most of my chests fits in the lace part without being too noticeable.” If you’re in the market for lingerie and haven’t seen Amazon’s, you’d be surprised!
A sporty zip up jacket you can wear inside or out
Comes in sizes XS to 3X. I own about 4 of these same type of athletic jackets and I end up wearing them all day. I especially like the kind like this with little holes for your thumbs. This jacket by Core 10 is said to be “excellent quality, very warm and almost cushy soft material,” with “a flattering shape” that “is not tight.” It comes in five different colors and even has reflective material on the sleeve and back.

Photos from Amazon. (Credit to Buzzfeed for some of these dresses!)
Thanks so much for doing a post including plus sizes. I have several items from Amazon invluding a open waterfall cardigan that I got in 4 colors. I love the dress and Henley on this post!
I bought cardigans on amazon a few years ago – I think I got 5 different colors! Perfect for layering for work, and they were pretty inexpensive.
I might try a pair of the jeans. I remember getting that brand and style at Kohl’s ages ago, but shopping for pants at Kohls is pain, you have to try on everything, even if it’s the same brand and style, because the sizing is all wonky.
Also, for business dresses, check out MaryCrafts on Amazon. I’ve bought several, size 22, and they’re pretty good quality.

Oh wow these are great! Thanks!
Ooh! Those are really lovely – thanks for the suggestions!
Just FYI, the Nemidor dress is a knock-off. I recognize it because I shop a lot at the store where it originated (Lady V London) and know the model in the stolen photo. The dress you get will not be the dress in the photo.
I will take that off! I’m sorry for not catching this before and will replace that one. -edit- I removed it!
The best plus size brand on Amazon is Mordenmiss. My trick to buying clothes on Amazon is to only read reviews of my size. It works everytime. Also the brand YessNo makes amazing coats. Still searching for the perfect bra though…
I’m in love with figleaves- I’ve ordered a few few of theirs from Simply Be. Pretty and true to size.
Great choices yet again, thanks. I love the hoodie. Black and gray are my go-to colors, too!
Please include pants for tall people too! A 33″ inseam is not “long”. It is frustrating when you see a pair of jeans on a model who is taller and thinner than you are but the pants in the store are not as long as the ones on the model. A dirty trick! It would be nice too if women’s pants could include the inseam as men’s do.
These are some boring clothes. I usually drape my big ass in Goodwill finds and strut around looking like a member of the B52s.
We should be friends.
Agree – SUPER boring! Have not clicked on any of these spon con links – this was the first. And the last. GAP is better than this!
Same. As snarky as we are about celebrity fashion, the items presented here are a snoozzzzze. I would’ve expected more fashion-forward pieces. The dress is a cute basic, but the rest? Yeesh. And Grandma’s been wearing Amanda jeans from Sears for as long as I’ve been alive…
Haha! Sounds like you’re looking good Grey!
Dang I was really hoping for an eyelash curler post recommendation re heated eyelash curlers this month. Still am.
I have that maxi dress and the long sleeve version – both in 2xl – and I LOVE THEM. They are soft and lightweight (I live in Louisiana’s Deep South) and not see through. I picked the long sleeve one up for 9.99 and the one pictured for about 11 dollars. lol put them in your cart and then keep checking the price fluctuates between 10-29 dollars from what I’ve seen. 🙂
Do these jeans stretch and sag after wearing? It’s hard to find good stretch jeans that hold their shape, and I only wash in cold and hang to dry. Thanks for these recs 🙂
No. I have many pairs of Amanda jeans. They are great.
