I’m still halfway obsessed with seeing the results of the best PR money can buy. Jeff Bezos is so rich, he could pay anyone to do anything for him. Literally, anything. Eventually, he’ll pay his estranged wife to go away somewhat quietly, and he’ll still be the richest man in the world. He can afford the best crisis managers and publicists and PR professionals in the entire world. And I’m still sort of shocked that… this is all we’re getting. Some shady People Magazine articles about how he’s in love with his mistress, Lauren Sanchez. Shady stories about how he and his wife MacKenzie just “grew apart without even knowing it.” Yeah, that’s what dudes always say when they’re screwing around. But what’s sort of interesting is that the National Enquirer and Page Six (which is Rupert Murdoch-owned) are still releasing some even cheaper updates about this whole affair and scandal. Did you know that Jeff Bezos and his mistress might make their splashy, public debut as a couple at the Oscars?
Jeff Bezos is set to accept an award Friday night in his first public appearance since his relationship with Lauren Sanchez was revealed — but we hear that the couple is still deciding whether they’ll attend the event together. They will, however, be at the Oscars together, sources tell us. On Friday, Bezos picks up a Living Legends of Aviation honor in Beverly Hills. But a source told us on Thursday of Sanchez’s possible attendance, “They’re still figuring it out.”
Either way, Bezos and Sanchez will appear at a series of upcoming events together, we hear, including the Oscars on Feb. 24. A source said: “Expect to see Lauren joining Jeff [at the Oscars]. They are an item and very much in love. They were not hiding their relationship and were very relaxed at the [Golden] Globes.”
Amazon boss Bezos has become a fixture at the Oscars, with his streaming company continuing to gain status as a key Hollywood player. His and Sanchez’s presence on the red carpet could rival the interest generated by film stars. Last year at the Oscars, we reported that Bezos and Tesla billionaire Elon Musk were “the center of gravity” at a starry party that, coincidentally, was co-hosted by Patrick Whitesell, Sanchez’s husband. At the Globes this year, Bezos was “so popular that he was swarmed for selfies backstage.”
It seems like PR from Bezos’ team, but a lot of people have theorized that Lauren Sanchez has been steering this entire thing from the beginning. It was allegedly Lauren Sanchez who shared Bezos’ emails & texts to a “friend” and that “friend” leaked them to the National Enquirer. Several of these stories have the feel of a mistress trying to manipulate herself into the position of Official Girlfriend/Future Wife too. That being said, I think it’s also possible that Jeff Bezos sort of loves the attention he’s getting right now, however negative. And couple-debuting at the Oscars is such a gloriously famewhore move. I love it.

Maybe Bezos’ wife suffered from depression. Maybe he and Snachez were there for her for a long time and ended up falling in love through a shitty situation. Maybe all four were kinkies and did some swapping, and then these two found they had more in common. Maybe they just happened to be getting divorced at the same time so Bezos hired her to play out this love story to protect his business because people are less likely to hate him and turn from his business if they feel for a love story than if they find out he’s a coked out model fucking wife beater.
No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. I hope the original spouses find their own happiness. I like the Bezos and Snachez story because she sounds fun (a hobby pilot!) even if she looks crazy. And they have same face so their pictures are cute. But I don’t condone cheating so if that part is true it’s very sad.
