Charlotte Church has the voice of angel, and now has a little baby angel too. The 21-year-old songstress and footballer boyfriend Gavin Henson had a baby girl on Thursday night.
Charlotte Church has chosen a name for her new daughter – but was yesterday keeping tightlipped for fear of jeopardising a reported six-figure magazine deal.
The singer-turned-TV presenter gave birth to a 6lb-10oz baby girl at home on Thursday night, with boyfriend Gavin Henson and mum Maria at her side.
The thrilled parents did not know what sex their first-born would be, so waited until after the birth to choose the name.
They are expected to reveal it in a forthcoming lucrative magazine interview.
Charlotte had considered the name Ava, until Myleene Klass, 29, announced she had chosen it for her daughter, who was born last month.
A celebrity name like Apple (Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter) or Bluebell (Geri Halliwell’s daughter) is out of the question, though, as Charlotte’s mum Maria has already confirmed, “she wants a traditional name”.
But friends have revealed the 21-year-old singer has chosen Maria as the middle name, in keeping with family tradition.
The baby’s last name will be Henson, after her father.
Charlotte also very cleverly avoided those ugly paparazzi pictures of her outside the hospital by having the baby at home, attended by two midwives in a birthing pool. Having the baby at home also meant that there was no chance of pictures getting out and jeopardizing the magazine deal. It also meant there was no chance of hospital-grade pain relief, so I for one am impressed!
Congratulations Charlotte and Gary. We’re looking forward to the pictures of your beautiful baby.
