Tucker Carlson has always been the absolute worst. Back in the day, he used to be the conservative foil on CNN, until CNN canceled his show. Carlson easily found a home on Fox News and other conservative media outlets, where he leaned into all of his worst political inclinations. Carlson is actually pretty typical of the Fox News talking head, in my opinion – he’s like Laura Ingraham with a bow tie, or a fratty ‘80s villain version of Bill O’Reilly. Well, Media Matters compiled a “greatest hits” of Tucker Carlson calling in to speak with Bubba the Love Sponge’s radio show, and the whole thing is just vulgar and misogynistic and rape-normalizing and abhorrent as you would think. NSFW for language and misogyny.
I honestly could only listen to it for about 90 seconds before I was completely done. Media Matters did a good thing by highlighting his casual and disgusting misogyny, even if most of us been knew this whole time. Carlson issued a statement about the video (and I just like how NY Mag frames this):
Carlson says: “Media Matters caught me saying something naughty on a radio show more than a decade ago. Rather than express the usual ritual contrition, how about this: I’m on television every weeknight live for an hour. If you want to know what I think, you can watch. Anyone who disagrees with my views is welcome to come on and explain why.”
The non-apology suggests Carlson might not face much blowback at Fox News, the network that reportedly harbored sexual harassment for years under the dominion of the late Roger Ailes. If Carlson wants his audience to know what he thinks today, here are some of his opinions on women that he’s shared on-air the last few years: In 2017, Carlson said “sexual harassment is a concept made up by Democrats.” Last year, Carlson said that rape survivors who don’t immediately come forward are “part of the problem.” In January, he claimed women earning higher salaries are responsible for “men in decline.” And for International Women’s Month, Carlson counter-programmed his show with a charming series called “Men in America.”
After hearing 90 seconds of Tucker falling all over himself to insult rape victims and victims of human trafficking, I think I can safely say that at some point in the near future, we’re definitely going to hear about all of the women Tucker Carlson has murdered and buried in his backyard. His hatred of women is pathological and it belies a deeper abnormal mind.

I’m surprised no woman has come out to say how he abused her or sexually assaulted her. Maybe someone will now. Not sure that will make a difference for Fox News. I won’t even listen to it.
That’s the sad thing: women could have come forward with claims for all we know, but Fox News has a habit of buying women’s silence and/or crushing their careers with corporate power.
What I want to know is who in God’s name would MARRY this POS? He’s wearing a wedding ring!
Then again, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Ailes, O’Reilly, Hannity, Fat Nixon…all married (or divorced and remarried). And of course that 52% of my fellow white women… JFC I STILL can’t wrap my head around that!
Good GOD, I am so TIRED of these MEN, HOW ARE WE ONLY 3 MONTHS INTO 2019, IT HAS BEEN A LIFETIME.
There is only one thing Tucker Carlson is good for in my book. At my gym they have TVs tuned to various stations hanging from the ceiling (thankfully on closed caption or else the cacophony would be horrendous!). The stationary bike I prefer to ride is located in front of one often tuned to Faux News. I found that when Tucker Carlson is on, I rode harder and faster because his eminently punchable face and inane comments made me rageful!
Otherwise, he is a garbage human being who should be voted out of our universe.
He always has that dumb, slack-jawed look on his face, too. GAH. So punchable.
Seeing “FireTuckerCarlson trending on Twitter kind of made my day.
The same with me. I go to the gym early in the morning, which is when the senior crowd is around. The amount of BS that I see is actually the fuel that makes me go faster. I cannot believe that there’s an audience for that crap.
There’s zero credibility with that organization and I automatically believe anything regarding sexism and discrimination of any kind with them.
This guy. Ugh! Horrible excuse for a human being.
I am not going to listen to this, but I did read a transcript last night. I admittedly haven’t watched Carlson much in recent years and remember him more from his CNN days. Although I did see the leaked clip of the Dutch economist owning him, which was priceless.
I’ve recently come to the realization that not only is he misogynistic and racist and generally angry and hate-filled, like many of the right wing, freedom caucus types, he’s also not very intelligent. At all.
If you haven’t seen Jon Stewart’s legendary appearance on Crossfire in 2004, this is well worth the watch. It’s amazing but also incredibly depressing to know that Stewart saw what was happening to our country, screamed it from the rooftops, and no one listened:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFQFB5YpDZE
“Anyone who disagrees with my views is welcome to come on.”
“….And then have the interview pulled from airing and shelved in a secret room because I completely lost my cool whilst being utterly pwned by the rational argument of a deeply-knowledgable economist and am every bit the tantruming baby you think I am, when I’m not advocating for statutory (AKA child) rape”.
Hannity’s pretty dumb too.
Junior has come to his defense tweeting grammatical errors and nonsensical what-aboutisms. These are dark days in America.
Wasn’t Stewart’s visit to Crossfire part of the reasons why that show got cancelled? Like the burn was so perfect, complete and accurate that no one could justify keeping this garbage on air any longer.
And yes, the current climate has been predictable since the late 90s. I blame Karl Rove for the normalization of hatred and bigotry.
I blame Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich. They were the first ones to find a broad-based audience for hyper-partisan BS.
wouldn’t it be awesome if Jon Stewart took him up on his offer and appeared on his show and burned him as badly as he did previously?
someone needs to start a petition.
I think it’s so sad that he’s raising three daughters. The man just OOZES with misogyny.
His non-apology was completely expected. He doesn’t feel sorry and why should he? This is completely on-brand for him and it’s why Fox News gave him a job in the first place.
I’m just constantly baffled at woman who allow men like this on top of them. I’m sure his daughters grow up to be good little conservative voters, internalizing their misogyny well enough to want to subjugate all other women to its agonies, too. After all, if they have to walk around hating themselves, why wouldn’t the rest of us?
OMG I KNOW.
Out of curiosity I did a Google image search of his family and it’s just so disturbing to look at these corny-ass family photos of his wife and daughters (I think he has one son too), knowing the deep-seated hatred that he has for women. Blows my mind that any woman would touch that toxic shitpile of a person. I bet his O face is that dumb open-mouthed, cross-eyed stupid look he always has on his face.
Gross and I’m sorry for that imagery.
Kitten! there’s not enough sorry in the world for the image you just put in my mind!
Kitten, that is such a terrible mental image! He looks like a befuddled weasel about to sneeze.
If he’s like the others, he’ll use those daughters to his own advantage..you know, the old ‘of course I care about women’s rights, I have daughters!’ line.
the Level of misogyny in those comments must bleed through in his interactions with them and their mother. No one can act that well.
What happened to these people to make them that way?
They’ve accepted (probably a long time ago) and chosen as adults to embrace the misogyny they’ve been exposed to. At this point in life, they most likely won’t try to change either. They’ll keep on standing their ground.
Oh noooo – I didn’t know he had daughters! It is depressing to think how it is for them to have this guy as their father. Ugh.
IMO “Naughty” is how one describes something harmlessly risqué. By Tucker calling this “naughty” he is verifying that he still has those opinions, considers them barely even off-color, and thinks the scandal is like being caught swearing.
It’s the Tucker Carlson equivalent to “locker room talk.”
Remember that Tucker was born extremely rich His father is a former ambassador and his stepmother is the heir to the Swanson frozen food fortune.
Yes we used to call him little lord fauntleroy back in the W years on the old rate bush netscape boards. Back when I thought we were living through the worst timeline. Isn’t that funny now? you know, in a sad way.
I mean, technically, we are still living in the worst (and dumbest) timeline. The Bush years laid the path that led us to where we are today. Even the Obama administration didn’t do much to undo the civil privacy and invasive imperialism toward the Middle East that he started.
I think his attitudes towards women stem from the fact that his mother abandoned him when he was young and had little contact with him since. Not defending his misogyny at all.
I think having a little misogynistic shithead of a son is reason enough for any mother to not want contact with her son. Will you blame his father for raising him like this? Why bring his mum into this if not to excuse his bigotry?
Asshole proven to be asshole for decades. Quelle surprise!
Just replace the T in Tucker with an F and that pretty much sums him up.
I wish I could “like” this comment a million times!
Leave it to this bow-tied twit to defend Warren Jeffs. How unimaginably disgusting. I hope there will be consequences for this but of course there probably wont be. He’ll probably get a raise.
I read the article about this on Slate, and apparently, one of his rants had to do with how sorry he feels for Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan because he thinks she’s ugly. The notion that Justice Kagan is somehow diminished because some cretin like Tucker C. doesn’t want to f*ck her is pretty much everything that is wrong with the world.
The incels/mgtows now have new fodder. Which by the way these men are not all the white maga types. I have seen the display of hate for women across every race, age and background of men on the internet
Ugh, the frustrating thing about it, is even if Tucker loses his show, so what? He’s richer than rich anyway, so really, is it going to hurt him that much? Doubt it. He’ll just do something else, and probably fall into another pit o’ money. . .he doesn’t care, because he doesn’t have to care. He will never pay any sort of price for being literally a dumb ass douchebag, he’ll just keep counting his money and laughing at his naysayers. Argh!
No surprise. Ever listen to him on Fox? Tucker is an a #1 a**hole.
