Kris Jenner always has a lot to celebrate on Mother’s Day. Is she a good mother? In some sense, yes, but in other ways, no, of course she’s not a good mother. I’ve often said that the younger ones would have been better off raised by wolves. To celebrate Mother’s Day – which is May 12th in America, so you still have time to figure it out! – Refinery29 spoke to Kris about her daughters and her grandchildren and all of that. Weirdly, I found it interesting.
The most memorable late-night call from her daughters: “The first one I ever got was the most alarming. It was when Mason ate peanut butter and his face started blowing up and his throat started closing. They had to rush him to the hospital. He had a peanut butter allergy for the longest time. He’s fine now. The scariest is always the first time. The most recent one that comes to mind is a week ago or so when we went to Palm Springs and Saint, my little grandson, we discovered he might be allergic to grass. We ended up in the E.R., but all is well — we figured it out.”
Her favorite Mother’s Day: “I think the most memorable Mother’s Day was, I wanna say, 12 years ago. My kids came into my room and said, ‘What do you want to do today?’ And I said, ‘You know what I wanna do? I wanna go to Disneyland.’ We got two cars and we drove to Disneyland and we had the time of our lives. We ate all the churros that they could serve, saw all the shows, and ate the barbecue.”
Whether Kylie Jenner should be called “self-made”: “I feel like she’s 100% self made in the true sense of the word. She’s been independent her entire life — from the time she was a little girl all the way up to her teens. When she became old enough to make a great decision, she took the money she had earned working since she was eight or nine years old, and she put that into her business. Nobody gave her any financial help whatsoever. She saved up her own money and built this amazing business and I just feel like there’s nothing not self made about that.”
Saint is allergic to grass? It’s probably a certain type of grass, or maybe a strong ragweed allergy, something like that. It’s weird that they only figured that out now, at Coachella. Has the child never been around grass before now? As for what she says about Kylie… it’s weird, right? “She’s been independent her entire life — from the time she was a little girl all the way up to her teens…” In what sense? Kylie lived at home, as most children do, and her mom helped start her business and she had a built-in audience because of the reality show. I mean? Why are being forced to parse this so much? Kylie is not self-made.

These children are not going to have any kind of normal life are they? Pretty weird that they have not discovered a grass allergy sooner. Do they never go outside and play? And is Coachella a child friendly place?
I’m sure it’s child friendly when you have family and friends and a giant security squad and backstage/vip access. Y’all think they’re just out there with us peasants letting Saint roam around and eat pills off the ground? My god.
I’m sure the grass around the home is that nice golf course grass, not average park grass. Allergies can pop up at any age. My 3 year old just recently started showing symptoms of tomato allergy, that doesn’t mean she’d never eaten a tomato before? What kind of garbage logic is that?
I had allergy testing at around 8 years old. Grass, multiple trees, pollen, way off the scale for dust, minor levels of pet allergies. I was a very snotty child in the literal sense, not the attitude sense haha. I’ve grown out of a lot of it, but I still get bad dust reactions, and usually have to take allergy meds for at least part of the year starting about now.
And allergies can start mild and repeated exposure can cause them to worsen. It’s difficult to pin that kind of thing down.
Allergies don’t really work like that. You can simply all your life been eating shrimp and then you suddenly become allergic to it. Or it can be on your second go at it. I was a immunology tutor all through med school. Trust.
I get you have a medical background, but to laymen, people who don;t have extensive medical knowledge, like Kris Jenner or many of us, many allergies definitely DO feel like they do that, just pop up out of nowhere. My boyfriend is convinced he;s developed a random allergy to strawberries and he ate them all his life. A little googling and we discovered that it’s possible he had a random allergic reaction to pollen on the strawberries he ate he could not wash off. It’s an actual thing.
So it’s reasonable to think a random allergy could develop or happen.
Georgia, I trust you, girl. In my late 30s, I became allergic to chocolate. I ate some
Every. Single. Day. When it happened, I didn’t believe it. I would try after a week and would break out in hives again. I gave it up for a year. A year later, I tried again and I was no longer allergic. Same type of chocolates (Dove and Hershey’s milk). Now I am allergic to stuff in some foods, so I try to only eat stuff if I knew what’s in it. When I’m with friends at a restaurant, I’m not precious about it because that can be annoying since I don’t really know what I am not allergic too, though I am trying to figure it out. I carry now. I’ve been in places and my face gets hot, and I ask hubby who lets me know if I am truly turning beet red. When that happens, I take the Benedryl. Weird.
That happened to me. I used to love shrimp. Had it all of the time. Then out of nowhere my face blew up while eating them. Also it could be that Saint was allergic to a specific grass. A lot of people have a reaction to certain species of flowers or dogs, etc.
As for Kylie I don’t know why people give her so little credit. Yes she started on third base but so many celebrity businesses/products fail. Name doesn’t mean instant success.
I suddenly became allergic to red wine, for a couple of years. Been drinking it for years, one day, my whole face swelled up, ears, lips, tongue, nasty stuff. A few years after that, all good! Weird!
Gotta rewrite history to fit the narrative yo!
So independent that her mommy and daddy bought her a very expensive car when she turned 16? Also, how on earth can you be independent at 8 years old? Shut up lady.

Uh, the answer is right there… ‘she took all that money she earned working since she was eight’. In other words, what made her wealthy and able to invest, was being handed lucrative employment in the family business at eight. That isn’t an opportunity she crafted on her own, she didn’t interview, audition or in any way earn that job. And when she started her own venture, she already had a huge customer base thanks to the family business she was let into. How on earth is that self made? Smart investment? Yes! But not self made. The only reason she sells so much without the need to advertise and hussle like regular brands need to, is precisely because of her pre existing audience. No new, self made business can do that.

I doubt he is allergic to ground grass.
The photo of the baby in a stiff leather jacket (not to mention pierced ears) makes me cringe. Poor little things.
Good thing he’s not allergic to plastic…the fraudulence is strong in this one. But cute kids though. I’ll give them that. I wonder if Kourtneys kids are aware they’re the only ones out of their cousins lacking melanin in their skin? Like seriously all the other ones are brown? Or are they too young still?
I’m allergic to grass (and a multitude of other things) but I’m more reactive to some species of it than others. Different parts of the country use different types of grasses (I presume based on their climate) and my reaction can vary a lot by location and by season.
Same. I didn’t figure it out until I moved down to Santa Barbara for college. I was really struggling, went to the doctor and got dot tested, and my big allergies were grass and olive trees. So random. Not much I can really do about it now except load up on meds throughout the year, and avoid rolling in grass.
You can develop allergies completely out of nowhere. My sister had a dairy allergy diagnosed when she was a toddler. It was before the Lactaid milk came out so she had eat TUMS every day to supplement her calcium levels. Now with Lactaid and the Lactaid pill, she can eat ice cream or desserts with dairy. She never had to go to the hospital but she occasionally threw up if she didn’t know she had accidentally ingested dairy.
However in college she was diagnosed with Celiac’s. It’s not an allergy, it’s an auto immune disorder so she’ll never go into anaphylactic shock if she accidentally eats gluten. But she DOES get very sick and will spend hours puking her guts out. As time goes on and she has eliminated gluten from her diet, what used to be intestinal discomfort as evolved into a much stronger reaction (but as I’ve said no anaphylactic shock you don’t need an Epipen if you have Celiac’s). As far as we know, she didn’t have Celiac’s as a kid. It popped up when she was older.
Kylie was independent as a kid because her parents didn’t bother to parent her- she had no choice!
And no 8 year old should be working like that.
