Page Six is reporting that Jessica Simpson is causing some financial problems for VH1 with her daily beauty budget for her new reality show, The Price of Beauty. Irony much? They claim that Jess’s “camera-ready” daily beauty budget is $25,000 because Jess “insists on using her own hair, makeup and fashion stylists, who are more expensive than J.Lo’s.” However, a VH1 spokesperson says there’s really no issue because, “A budget was approved when the deal was made. All parties were satisfied.” Kind of sounds like a non-story, but I do believe that Jessica probably spends a lot of money of her beauty regimen. What bothers me is that she doesn’t need it – she’s a naturally pretty girl, and all of the make-up and hair extensions and stuff just make her cheap and old. The one good investment she could and should make is a really great stylist – Jess really does need help in that department.
In other Jessica news, the National Enquirer is reporting that she’s sworn off men. No mention if she’s on to women now:
No more short pants romance for jilted Jessica! Jessica Simpson is now swearing off men for six months after QB Tony Romo sent her to the showers, sources say. Since her marriage to Nick Lachey collapsed in 2005, Jessica has gone from one dead-end relationship to another.
“She needs time to clear her head, so she’s putting dating on the back burner,” said a source close to Jessica.
Before she hooked up with the Dallas Cowboys hunk in late 2007, Jessica romanced a conga line of “love ’em and leave ’em” types, including comic Dane Cook, Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, rock singer Adam Levine, actor Jared Leto and emo-rocker John Mayer.
Now the usually boy-crazy beauty plans to focus on “inner growth,” said the source.
“Jess knows she’s overly needy and tends to define herself by the men she’s with,” explained the source. “Jessica wants to figure out what she does to repel men and fix it.”
“For the time being, she’s refusing to be set up, she doesn’t want to date, and she’s definitely avoiding meaningless hookups.”

Okay, the line “Jessica wants to figure out what she does to repel men and fix it” is both cruel and hilarious. I don’t think Jessica repels men, but I do think she’s got some issues with neediness, clinginess and generally self esteem issues. Poor Jessica. No, I’m not going to feel badly for her anymore. She’s doing pretty well, and I think she’s won the publicity war post-split with Tony Romo. She’s fine. Well, she’ll be fine. After she gets some therapy maybe.

That works for me, because even though I am interested in Jessica, I’m way too busy to start seeing her. Unless she wants to come here.
So this works for both of us! LOL!
25k a day is SUCH a waste. I don’t know how I could face my own conscience knowing that much was being spent on me. Especially in my 20s!
Agreed that she doesn’t need all that shit. She is pretty. She just needs to chill and date people who are not shallow assholes.
I think those 6 months ‘downtime’ are a really good idea. In addition, if I were her I would decide for myself that no matter what, I would not get married within the next 5 years. Maybe that would create some breathing space to just date someone and enjoy myself, rather than feeling or creating the pressure for every relationship to be ‘going somewhere’ and being a fast-track to marriage.
meh, she really should fire Ken Paves. He consistently makes her look like a beauty pagent reject mixed with a texas drag queen. Unfortunately he’s the only constant man in her life besides Daddy Joe.
I think whatever Ken Paves does to her hair, plus his general presence is what repels men. I doubt her boyfriends wanted to hang around with Jess’s main gay waiting for her extensions to be done. I remember on Newlyweds, Nick hated when Jessica would sit around being ridiculous with Ken. Maybe he just brings out a really unattractive side of her.
“She won the publicity war” I don’t think Tony entered the contest. I think just like Nick L these men really want their privacy and Jessica alerts the media for every stop she makes. That’s a big part of why men don’t want her.
I think Tony was the big winner.
She is swearing off men only untill the next one come along. Let John Mayer call she will be in his lap before he put the phone down
Oh man.
That explains so much.
Ironic, isn’t it, that it costs so much money to look cheap! The bleached-blonde hair, gobs of makeup, melon-size boobs — it’s so overdone. She looks like a cartoon character.
@PJ – while I agree with you about the hair and makeup overkill – she can hardly help the size of her natural boobs. They are real, not silicone, so it’s a bit unfair to use them as an example of her tartiness!
…thinks it would be great to get to spend 25K a YEAR on my looks, much less a day.
Judging from the pics of her out and about with no make up and hair in a pony, I can’t fathom the idea of her needing 25k a day to make her look like this! All this girl needs is some lip gloss and a little mascara.
The title of her new reality show turns me off. They really should name it something else like, “”The Price of being a needy bimbo.”
The 25K is not just for “beauty” (agree that it all just distracts from her natural beauty and ages/tackifies her), it’s for “friends”. That Ken Paves and his acolytes are such fakes & moochers.
Awesome post! Something else I found regarding this matter, for anyone interested in making a quick buck (well, actually, up to 160$ per hour), just filling surveys. Try it, trust me, you’ll love it. It’s on TheBuzzTrend dot com (replace dot with .)
discover certainly plenty references like that to consider into consideration. That is exceptionally point to bring up. I supply the views above as common inspiration but clearly search questions like the one you bring up where by far the most surely thing could be working in honest notable faith. I don?t know if fine practices have emerged available things like that, but I’m certain that your career is plainly identified for a fair game.
