It is my hope and dream that one (small) good thing comes out of the pandemic: people who shouldn’t be married finally realize how incompatible they are AND people who should not get married are seeing their weddings cancelled. Celebrity-weddings have been widely postponed or cancelled during the pandemic. Some of those people I feel sorry for – Emma Stone, for one, because she had to cancel at the last minute, and I think Emma and Dave are a real love match. But others… well, I hope other people take this moment to reassess their relationships (coughPrincessBeatricecough).
Last October, Dennis Quaid announced his engagement to a 26-year-old woman named Laura Savoie. Quaid is 65 and this will be his fourth marriage. Not only that, he was trying to rush this poor young woman into getting married quickly, even though he proposed to her when they’d only been dating for four months, tops. Well, anyway… their wedding has been postponed. Please use this time to reassess!
Concerns over the coronavirus pandemic have caused Dennis Quaid to postpone his wedding to much-younger fiancée Laura Savoie.
“We postponed … once we started to hear about [coronavirus in] Italy,” Quaid recently told Extra. “We have a few members of the family and friends who have low immune systems due to medical treatment, medical issues going on. We decided, ‘Let’s just postpone.’”
The 65-year-old “Parent Trap” actor was supposed to wed 26-year-old Savoie at Craig T. Nelson’s home in Kauai, Hawaii on April 4. “It was going to be nice and small,” Quaid said, adding, “Now, we may do something closer to home. We’re going to wait for this to lift.”
And Savoie already has her wedding look ready for when that day comes. “The dress was already ordered and somehow it made it here from Spain,” he said.
He reaffirmed that following the CDC’s advice to practice social distancing takes priority over their wedding. “I think everyone needs to obey the rules,” he said. “We are hunkered down. There is a lot of time to catch up on things.”
I appreciate it when celebrities are like “this isn’t about me, we have to think of public safety first.” I’ve heard, anecdotally, that there are still brides and grooms insisting on going through with their weddings this month and next month. To which I say… that’s a huge red flag, people. If your impending marriage can’t wait through a global health crisis, than what does that say about YOU? Anyway, I kind of hope Laura dumps Dennis? Is that mean?

SO, Dennis Quaid is more considerate than Sam Heughan? OK, then 🙂
We just postponed our May wedding to late August, and even with that we’re kind of concerned!! Our venue has agreed that we can push it to 2021 by June/July if things have not calmed down.
I know this is totally different because my partner and I are 1.5 years apart in age and have been together for 5 years (and we’re in our 30s) but …postponing a wedding is not fun! It’s obviously the least we can do – anyone still having their wedding in the middle of a pandemic is selfish and needs to work out their priorities. But it’s still a huge disappointment, even though we realize in the grand scheme of things we can have our wedding at any time as long as our guests can be safe.
She’s 26?? Looks way older
Wow. 26 and already fully Botoxed and surgerized.
He does realize that he is in a high risk category too, right?
you mean if she realizes he’s old and in the wrong demographic for the disease, she should go ahead with it but just elope
@ MARCIE~BWAHAHAHAHAHA 🤣🤣🤣

With the weddings- some people might also want to have the marriage certificate now more than ever so that they have health insurance, can make medical decisions for each other, or inherit. Though in this cases it would of course be ceremonies with just the least amount of people necessary there (physically) to make it legal.
She really looks a lot older in the photos where she’s dressed in black
Why are we talking about HER face?!!
What the hell is going on with his???
Does he shoot his ass fat into his cheeks? Yikes.
