Hailey Glassman’s interview with Giuliana Rancic aired last night on E! News. (You can watch it on E!’s website.) We reported on advance details of this story last week, and now the full interview is available. I have to say that unlike Jon Gosselin’s other fling, wacky Star reporter Kate Major, Glassman came off as completely normal. I kind of liked her. She just shrugged at all the stories about her past and explained it away as if all the partying pictures and stories didn’t bother her, but she wanted to set the record straight anyway. In Hailey’s mind, that stuff happened, it’s ancient history, and it’s no big deal. She also seemed to genuinely care for Jon Gosselin and she had only nice things to say about his estranged wife Kate – with one mild exception. Glassman said that Kate was “definitely going for the sympathy card,” but she didn’t elaborate.

On why she’s speaking out
Because there’s so many lies and like ridiculous stories circulating. I love Jon, I’m not some fame whore. This has been like, a nightmare.

On how she got together with Jon
I started talking to him in May. He was just, like, living in my house, the person I joked around with. He was sad, bored, and I was home and bored.

On realizing she was falling for him
After spending a lot of time with him. He’s just a great guy, he really is…

On their relationship
It’s very carefree, fun. We just laugh. He’s honestly like a 32 year-old guy version of me. For real. I really do, I love Jon. I’ve never been in love before Jon.

On her trip to France with Jon to visit Christian Audiger
I was hesitant to go to France, because I said “I don’t want my picture taken….” We get there and to this day he apologizes.

On people saying she’s a homewrecker
One part of me says “Obviously I’m not, it’s ridiculous.” The other part of me says “From what the public sees, because TLC didn’t allow them to come out and say their marriage was done a year ago.”

On when Jon and Kate split
He did call my mom around December or January and said that, pretty much he was left.

On Kate
I don’t know Kate, but their kids are really good kids. I think she’s a great mother, but she’s definitely going for the sympathy card.

On her arrest for drug possession
It was 2005, and it was for possession of marijuana. And I do not have a criminal record. I took a pretrial diversion and I went to a class and it was expunged.

On her partying pictures
There are so many lies and just ridiculous stories circulating. How they’re portraying me is not me at all.

On the photos of her putting a gun to her friend’s head
We had tequila night at my apartment. My roommate had like a little BB gun. My friend like took it up and I wasn’t holding it to her head I was like posing with it…

People are profiteering off selling pictures of me from college when I was 18 years old. They don’t fact check…

The people I know who had those pictures. I was just like ‘why would you sell that?’ My good friends didn’t sell anything and I know my good friends didn’t have those pictures. People pull up all these pictures of me. Do I regret it? No. Everything happens for a reason. I lived and I learned.

On rumors that she’s gay
Am I a lesbian, am I bisexual? No. I love Jon. I love my friends, but not in that way.

On smoking weed
The only thing that is true, did I smoke weed when I was 18 in college? Yeah. Sue me. I don’t smoke weed anymore. FYI. I would watch a movie, smoke and get some munchies. I didn’t smoke alone.

I believe Glassman that she wasn’t as much of a partier as the tabloids made out – in her opinion. It’s like she believed it wasn’t out of the ordinary, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t, if that makes sense. She probably did get into some of the harder stuff, and maybe she was even dealing drugs as one person alleged, but she doesn’t see it as problem. It’s telling that Glassman says she was just hanging out at her parents’ house, bored, when Jon happened to be there too. Glassman dropped out of college and if she was bored and at home that suggests she didn’t have a job to go to, but who knows? The E! interview also dropped the news that Glassman tried out unsuccesfully for MTV’s “The Real World” and Oxygen’s “Bad Girls Club,” suggesting she really did have aspirations to be famous. (I remember reading about The Real World, but the second reality show tryout is news to me.) I also don’t really believe her when she said that she didn’t want her photo taken in France, because after that she happily posed with Jon for those PDA park photos, and even granted an interview to People Magazine for the time she appeared on the cover. She doesn’t mind the coverage and is probably actively seeking it out.

E! has more details of things she said that aren’t in the online segment, and it does sound a little over-the-top. She called herself “the sacrificial lamb” and said that things are hard for her and she’s depressed after the tabloid coverage. “I was never a gossiper. I did my own thing. To be honest, this whole thing, I have lost my happiness through this all. I don’t want to say the public and media stripped me of my self-esteem. But they really have. I’ve been the sacrificial lamb in this situation.”

As for Hailey’s future with Jon, I bet that he distances himself from her after this interview. He keeps saying she’s the only one for him after he had other flings with a babysitter/cocktail waitress and that tabloid reporter. He’s an immature person and I bet that Hailey professing her love will make him pull away on some level. He’s not going to settle down with the second 22 year-old he hooked up with since his wife kicked him out of the house.
