She is just a kid, only 18, I wish the IAAF had been more discreet, after all they are discreet with drug cheats. Whatever her sex, it is not her fault. Why is it that the people complaining about her came 5th and 6th. They are still losers whether Caster is a man or woman.
She is currently undergoing tests; they began earlier this summer.
Her face does look quite masculine, and coupled with her training and even something as simple as PCOS can exaggerate that.
The fact that most photos are shown of her in isolation or against smaller runners like the British bronze medalist exaggerate that. But there are other runners with a similar physique:

Either way, God love her, she’s still only a teenager and having this accusation could mess her up for life.
Granted: Many female athletes look a bit masculine.
But if you see “her” next to other female runners, it’s pretty obvious that there is every reason for a gender test.
She is a woman. She has been competing as woman. She won the the Junior African championships, an IAAF event. The IAAF started doing tests on her a few weeks back. On the day of her final race someone from the Aurtralian went to the media with gender speculation rumours, a blatant attempt to humiliate her…and she still won. Her mother, teachers, and coach all say she is female. An Italian athelete who came in sixth had this to say about her “these kind of people should not run with us, for me she is not a woman, she’s a man.” umm these kind of people!! Sour grapes much? The girl was treated in a disgraceful manner…and she still won. Congratulations to her.

If she’s inter-sexed and identifies/living as a woman, she should still keep her trophies. (I think that’s the PC term for hermaphrodite now.)
I saw her getting her meddle yeterday and she did it with grace and class. Good for her for not letting this rumours ruin her. I hope she sues these losers when all is done regardless of what they find. What they did is so uncalled for.

Everyone knows that men and women compete in sports separately because they have different biological limitations. And any thinking person can figure out that someone with both male and female chromosomes very possibly has a big natural gender-based advantage when competing with women. You seem concerned about fairness only as far as someone like this athlete is concerned, but not in regards to women athletes who may be at an unfair disadvantage.
I`d say intersexed. Common thoughts are she/he has male chromosomes and hasn`t responded to the male hormones in the women. OR, testicles are still tucked up into the abdomen. Her voice is very deep.
Men do have greater advantages than women in long and short distance running. Larger lung capacity…
To be subjected to this is insane! This should have been kept private like previous posters have noted. Even if she continues to win and compete, she will never forget this. It is so odd and sexist that it is accceptable for Bolt ot break records but not Caster? This would never happen if she were seen as attractive.
