Kylie Minogue was dripping with diamonds and crystals at the London premiere of the two hour documentary about her comeback from breast cancer, White Diamond, last night. She wore a gorgeous sleeveless Dolce & Gabbana satin gown adorned with literally a million dollars worth of Swarovski crystals. She sat in the back of the theater and laughed and cried at the film which showed her regain her health, stage a comeback tour and face a difficult breakup up with longterm boyfriend Oliver Martinez. Minogue says she was reluctant to do the film and tried to call it off five different times:
The movie lasted nearly two hours, during which Kylie sat at the back of the cinema either laughing out loud or sobbing.
Afterwards the star, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana satin cream gown sprinkled with £500,000 of Swarovski crystals, said: “I didn’t know if I’d make it through that screening, it was very emotional making the documentary and even more so watching it.”
The documentary follows Kylie’s emotional comeback after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.
But the singer revealed she took a lot of persuading to do the film, adding: “It wasn’t my idea, it was William Baker’s. I canned it five times before this. I was hoodwinked basically because I really tried to get out of it. But he said, ‘This is who you are and we all love you for who you are’.
“There was a time when I’d been stripped of everything and depended on nothing, and I felt like I had everything in terms of love and support, and I think that had a lot to do with me agreeing to this.”
Kylie was overwhelmed with the thousands of people who came out in the rain last night to see her. She told us: “I said to Willie in the car, ‘What if there are only six people here’, but I’m overwhelmed.
“These people have been so patient, not just tonight but for a long time and they’ve given me a lot of support on my road to recovery.”

Kylie’s sister Danii and her good friend, the filmmaker William Baker, were at the premiere with her, but she was not accompanied by a romantic interest. Kylie says she’s single and that when her manager recently asked her “are you sure you’re not with anyone?” she said “If you can get me someone that’d be great.”
I’m sure there are hoards of men who would like to take Kylie out, but only a few who are good enough for her. (And I mean that like she deserves a great guy, not that she’s super picky, but if she is then more power to her.)
Kylie Minogue’s documentary White Diamond will be in limited release at Vue cinemas in the UK, after which it will be available on DVD.
