While I have sympathy for Kim Kardashian in her current situation with Kanye West, I do find it funny/interesting that “sources close to Kim” keep updating TMZ and People Magazine constantly. Kim is basically publicly narrating her back-and-forth decision-making process about whether she’ll divorce Kanye. It’s a difficult decision and it’s not one she’s making suddenly. Last week, “sources” were convinced that Kim was inches away from filing for divorce. This week, those sources say that Kanye and Kim have been in contact more consistently, that he’s promised to do better by her, and apparently told her he wanted to take her away on a family holiday. So that’s what they’re doing:
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West wanted an appropriate setting to try and save their marriage, and we’ve learned, when they jumped on that private jet with their kids, they flew to a tropical island outside the country to take a trip that’s very different from every other.
The Kardashians are famously photographed everywhere they go, but on this trip, it’s designed specifically so there will be NO PHOTOS. Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, the fam is staying in what is described as a “fortress” … an estate that is so remote it’s virtually impossible for trespassers to get close.
It’s interesting … there is total radio silence as to how the vacation is going. As we reported, this could be the final test on the marriage. They have had relatively little contact over the last few months, and Kanye’s pronouncements at the South Carolina campaign rally and on twitter clearly didn’t help.
You know what I find sort of heartbreaking about this? This is not the first time Kim has literally had to drag Kanye away when he’s having a massive, public manic episode. She did it in 2018, during his difficult-to-watch manic episode which saw him glassy-eyed and ranting in the Oval Office. Immediately following that episode – which seemed more like Kanye was in a fugue state – Kim took him to Uganda and they were “away” for several weeks and Kanye was only photographed once. This is just a repeat of that – Kim trying to protect Kanye, trying to get him in a healthier place, trying to get him to spend time away from everything. How many times is Kim going to be the one who steps in and says enough? And how many times will she be insulted and mocked and slammed for trying to do what’s best for him?

Great take. This is what gets me about their marriage …. when is he there for her? When does he have her back and is her support system when she’s low? It’s not that he’s bipolar, it’s that he refuses time and time again to manage it for his health and health of his family. She must be exhausted.
I can’t forget how she had to bury her trauma from the kidnapping because HE was upset about what happened to HER and needed HER support… that was two babies ago too.
@Lo remember when she was pregnant with North, it was an difficult pregnancy and Kanye was in Paris for most of it, doing his “designer” stuff? To me it was a sign that he literally didn’t cared about Kim as long as she was his Barbie doll to dress up and show around. On a Vogue questionaire, he said point blank he doesn’t take advice from her, which to me shows he has little consideration or care for Kim.
Yes, I think Kanye is selfish to a degree of malignancy. I’m not a Kardashian fan, but I have to respect Kim for her handling of this issue, both now and during his earlier manic cycling crises.
Unfortunately I think this is family trip is their plan for them to be all together as a family one last time, without any paps, before they split. The kids will have good memories of this trip together, they’ll have personal pictures of this to finish this off on a better note. And they still tip tmz on the narrative to make it suspenseful – they can milk it now that they know they breakup is to come anyway. Kim cares for Kanye and loves her family – but can’t wait for this to be over with, I mean they were living in different states and she saw him once every month. This is too much drama for what is really is.
The kids will not have good memories of this if he is not managing his illness and acts out during this trip. The little ones might be lucky if they don’t remember it at all but Saint will remember and North will definitely remember and, with what he has been saying and has continued to tweet about her, he could do some serious harm to that poor girl.
That is terrifying. His obsession with the sexuality of women and blurting stuff out about him wanting to abort North. It makes for a lot of bad possibilities for that young girl.
Videos and photographs of highly placed GOP operatives in swing states filing paperwork to get him on the ballot in those states surfaced yesterday. That man is helping to destroy our democracy. He can stay in that fortress forever.
How is he helping? Nobody has to vote for him like nobody had and has to vote for Trump. The responsibility is on the voters more than on the clowns who are on the ballot.
I agree with locking him in the fortress forever. You know the republicans are hoping beyond hope that he takes away a portion of the democratic vote. And no one can be so naive to think that there aren’t the gullible who worship his celebrity enough to follow him. Only a real douche would be messing with such a sensitive and important election.
Despite the heartlessness of it, I don’t give a fig about this guy. I care more about the lives of the people of this country that he is toying with to feed his narcissistic delusions. This is not a game; not some millionaire’s sporting event. Most of us are not shielded by wealth and this can have real consequences. The effing country is on fire and this is what he thinks is appropriate at this time…….NO.
Not just swing states! I’m in WV (the state with the highest proportion of Trump voters 🙃) and was approached in a grocery store parking lot last week about getting Kanye on the ballot. We laughed him off but apparently there are enough signatures here now. Wtf?!
And they are GOP operatives collecting those signatures. One of the women in the videos I saw last night was an attorney for the RNC in Wisconsin. The Lincoln Project people all knew who she was and she was rushing in to file those signatures, openly.
The GOP is so out of touch they think Black people will vote for Kanye over Biden. The only people crazy enough to vote for him are disgruntled Bernie Bros and they weren’t going to vote for Biden anyway.

I agree with @Mac. The GOP is waaaay out of touch to think that Kanye would pull Black votes from Biden. Black people are not stupid. Many of us cancelled Kanye a long time ago. Even if we still enjoy his music that does not mean we would trust him to run our country. Period. He can’t manage himself, or his marriage, nevermind the country. Anyone who would actually vote for Kanye was most probably a Trump voter anyway. So the GOP can continue to own themselves by cannibalizing their own base if they chose….
They’re also using Kanye’s frenetic Oval Office visit and Tiger Woods in one of the new Trump ads. Oh, look, he has a black friend. Totally makes up for all that white supremacy stuff and taking out an ad calling for the blood of the Central Park Five when they weren’t even guilty.
THIS is the real story, in my opinion. The GOP is using Kanye to try to peel votes from Biden — and either Kanye doesn’t understand that (in which case he’s in much worse shape than it seems) or he’s tacitly endorsing it.
He either knows that GOP operatives are acting in his name and getting him on the ballot, or he doesn’t. He’s either willingly being used as a puppet or is being duped. I certainly hope that not too many voters will fall for this, but the GOP knows that they probably don’t need may voters in swing states to make a difference.
He’s filed to try and get on the ballot in Wisconsin. I’m dreading if he makes it because we were a red state in 2016 – had always been blue prior. I’m hoping for blue this year but can’t get my hopes up.

With all the travel bans I can’t possibly understand what country is allowing Americans in? I’m in Canada, and we won’t even allow Americans in right now lol.
Some Caribbean countries are allowing in Americans, particularly if they can pay for their own quarantine. The Bahamas is shutting down on Friday, but I think they can go to Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia, St Barts and Jamaica.
I don’t understand why those countries would allow Americans in. My God do they not care about the safety of their own citizens? I wonder if Kim, Kanye, and the kids are really going to quarantine for 2 weeks in the Caribbean or will they get “special treatment”.
A friend of mine lives in the Bahamas, and her area was doing well containing COVID, until a bunch of Americans started traveling there.
Kim and Kanye have done a LOT of traveling during this pandemic. I hope his health improves, but wow, they are putting people at risk.

I can go to Connecticut! Today. That might change by tomorrow. I was planning a trip down to Newport with cousins from Connecticut this weekend but RI was added to the list yesterday so we’re looking at the Berkshires instead but I wanted the ocean.
My sister lives in Massachusetts so really hoping that it doesn’t change! I typically spend a good amount of time in RI during the summer but I didn’t go at all this year. Pictures I saw on social media showed crowded beaches. Berkshires are beautiful. Enjoy!

Saving a marriage, his mental illness, who is actually caring for 4 children who are experiencing trauma? Because seeing their mom distraught IS traumatic for them.
Should have left the children somewhere emotionally safe.

If it is going to be said that it is not Kim’s job to control him during these episodes (not that it is her job) then she should not have to “drag” him anywhere. If they can’t be around each other at home then being in a fortress on a tropical island is not going to be any better.

Lol. I dont think she’s a savior. I think most people trash her and she’s easy to trash, people watch her the way they would a train wreck, it’s evident she has many issues, she isn’t particulary good looking, she’s made a mess of a lot of things, embarrassed herself in countless of ways but it’s good that she coming out with it, she’s been too strong for too long, she’s showing us her vulnerable side for once and it’s real and human and refreshing coming from someone like her.
Kanye needs to be out if the public eye for a while. I thought a lot of Caribbean countries banned US tourists, but money helps ease bureaucracy. What I find interesting is all the GOP operatives helping facilitate Kanye’s campaign.

Honestly I don’t know much about mental illness but since he is supposed to be in the middle of a bipolar episode, is it safe for the kids to be with him at this time ? Maybe he wouldn’t harm them physically, but the narrative was that he was still extremely unstable.
Also, wouldn’t it be stressful for him to be with his whole family he hasn’t seen for months, for an extended period of time ?
Maybe part of it is anxiety about the constant documentation of the family : filming/photos, etc that Kanye needs/wants to get away from.

Kanye is toxic as a husband but even more as a father, especially for his daughters. He’s not responsible for being mentally ill but he’s responsible for not getting treatment.
Also, I can’t see how they’re going to agree on the education of their girls when they’re teens : the Kardashian/Jenner way (early sexualisation & plastic surgery) or the West way (religious extremism & no control over their own bodies) ?
I know Barbados and many of the islands around it are allowing US visitors – but you have to quarantine for a week with daily monitoring and show a negative test within so many days of leaving the US. I know many couples who are there or going soon because they have a great fertility clinic.
Why pile on hate to their marriage? She obviously loves and cares deeply for him and isn’t abandoning him while he fights his demons. I applaud her for her strength, compassion, sense of family and understanding.
There is never any plan to go somewhere “without paps.” They don’t exist “without paps” and probably turn into mannequin dummies when alone. Creepy.
