Over the summer, the rumors about Ellen DeGeneres’ less-than-kind nature finally erupted into a full-blown scandal. However, as predicted, after she jokingly addressed it in a half-assed manner on her first show back post-quarantine, the matter was swept back under the carpet. Although, it looks like not everyone is willing to let Ellen off the hook so easily. Actor and Reese Witherspoon ex Ryan Phillippe took time out of his morning jog to post this to his Instagram stories:
The internet consensus is that Ryan is shading Ellen, which I think we can all agree with. Nobody can say why, though. Of course, nobody really knows why Brad Garrett or Lea Thompson chose to speak out about Ellen’s cesspool of a studio either, when all her celebrity friends were rushing to her defense about how lovely she was. Not that anyone owes us the full, gory story but obviously I have a vested interest in gossip so any scrap they’d be willing to throw my way, I’d be happy to turn into a full meal *maniacal laugh* CinemaBlend noted that Ryan has not been a guest on Ellen’s show since 2011, so it does appear the two are avoiding each other or, more accurately, Ellen‘s probably shut her door to him. We know that Reese is one of Ellen’s inner circle. But, while I don’t think they are best friends, Reese and Ryan are co-parenting well-enough to share familial birthdays together, so I don’t think Reese is the source of Ellen and Ryan’s animosity.
I’m certainly not going to atta boy Ryan for anything, because he’s an abusive POS. I appreciate that Ellen’s not getting off the hook. It’s just the right amount of shade, too. Although, going by her recent ratings drop from both her talk show and game show, it looks like the viewers aren’t buying her act anymore either. I swear, there is a tell all book being written about her as we speak. And Ryan may have just given us the title.

“I swear, there is a tell all book being written about her as we speak. And Ryan may have just given us the title.” 😂😂😂 I love that!
Really rich of Ryan to be saying this…
Yeah, his behavior is a little worse than Ellen’s. Guys like him, Tekashi69, Cee-Lo Green, and others are really something. They think they’re still in great positions to point out injustices in the industry when the bandwagons they jump on stop short of their own behavior. It’s like the expectation of getting away with abuse does something to their self-awareness.
I’m so behind in gossip. Why is Ryan abusive? I could just google.
If you click on his name under the title (where he’s tagged), you’ll see the whole mess. He pushed his girlfriend down the stairs and then she filed a civil suit and he wanted to countersue for defamation? Something like that .
Brad Garrett did not come to her defense . He called her out.
Which was noted above – both Brad Garrett and Lea Thompson ‘spoke up against the cess pool of a studio’.
And remember to not abuse women…. allegedly….wait!
Oh its definitely shade. And interesting bc it seems like most of the celebrities were defending Ellen, because she was nice to THEM.
Good. Because she shouldn’t be allowed to be back to her fake act. She is occupying a spot intended for someone more talented, more genuine and more invested.
Part of me is pleased that anyone with a public profile will speak out against her but having said that, he has a terrible history and it’s a bit rich that he’s criticising her. Sort yourself out first Ryan.
He is just so gross that I cannot entertain anything he says. He has the worst personality on top of his bad behavior. So arrogant and comes off as sleezy.
My favorite type of petty fight. One where both people suck, so no matter the outcome someone gets a bit of what they deserve.
Rumours I’d like to start –
Ellen ‘broke’ Reese and Ryan up
Ryan hates Ellen because she has larger hands than him
Ellen made fun of Ryans dance moves and fired the set assistant he was flirting with
Ryan is my guilty sex. He’s so damn cute but ugh.
