We always knew that Barack Obama would enter the campaign trail in the final weeks, but what I wasn’t expecting was the joy radiating from Obama as campaigns for his former vice president. Obama was always a great campaigner – he’s folksy at times, professorial at times, a great orator, and always a great communicator. But he’s flat-out having FUN as he campaigns for the Biden-Harris ticket. I don’t know who’s helping him write his campaign speeches this time around, but they are coming up with some zingers aimed squarely at getting under Donald Trump’s thin orange skin. Obama was in Orlando, Florida yesterday for a “drive-in rally,” which is all part of the Biden-Harris campaign’s effort to campaign responsibly during a pandemic, and NOT host super-spreader events. Again, Obama’s speech is fun, so I’m posting the whole video:
My favorite lines: “What is his closing argument?… That people are too focused on Covid. He said this at one of his rallies ‘Covid, Covid, Covid’, he is complaining. He is jealous of Covid’s media coverage.” LMAO. He had more zingers specific to the pandemic too: “If he had been focused on Covid from the beginning, cases would not be reaching record highs across the country this week, the White House would not be having its second outbreak in a month. Winter is coming. They are waving the white flag of surrender. Florida, we can’t afford four more years of this, that’s why we’ve got to send Joe Biden to the White House.” Winter is coming!! Tell Bigly that THE NORTH REMEMBERS.
Obama also clowned on Trump for still talking about his inauguration crowd size (which Trump keeps mentioning in rallies!!), and Barry clowned on Trump calling himself “the best president for black folks since Abe Lincoln. Man … his son in law says black folks have to want to be successful. That’s the problem. Who are these folks? What history books do they read? Who do they talk to?”

Trump spent most of yesterday afternoon and last night furious that Fox News broadcast Obama’s entire speech. Such a ridiculous and petty excuse for a man.
I miss him so much, my favorite president of my life and I’m not a kid.
I keep waiting for Michelle and Barack to swoop down and save us in their super hero capes. Sigh.
It is NOT Black folks’ jobs to save America from the mess white folks have created. 53% of white women voted for Trump in 2016. Why do the Obamas have to come do ANYTHING? We are fortunate to see them out campaigning. They owe us NOTHING.
Remember this and tell your friends – Magical Black Folks saving white folks from the consequences of their own dumbass actions is a racist trope and it needs to end.

President Barack Obama gave his youth to the United States. His wife was called an ‘ape’ and a ‘man’. And what did the American people give him in return? They elected Donald Trump, a creature dedicated to erasing everything that President Obama worked his ass of to achieve.
The Obamas don’t owe anybody ANYTHING. And if Americans want to be saved from Trump, they better get out and VOTE.

We only got to see a snippet of Obama’s speech. so I’m looking forward to hearing it all. On Sunday, my older son and his girlfriend came for dinner. As invariably happens, talk turned to our politics. A former Prime Minister, the wonderful Paul Keating, is our Obama. PK had great takedowns. One of my favourites was what he said about a future treasurer: “He’s a chill looking for a spine to crawl up”. Keating, Obama. If only we could turn back time.
A few days ago, Obama referenced “Florida Man” in relation to Trump, and it gave me LIFE. Ugh, I miss Barack even more than Kate McKinnon’s Angela Merkel does.

I love that Obama is finally unleashing on Trump too! It’s long overdue – and he is spot on about Trump’s one concern about Covid getting too much media coverage LOL!! That is the ONE single thing that Donald Trump has always and will always care about – his damn media ratings. Everything else can go to hell as far as he is concerned. I don’t know if anyone else saw this, but there was some WH press release yesterday of the “accomplishments” of Trump and his Administration – one of them being that they “ended the Covid-19 pandemic” I was I was fucking kidding. As cases rise all over the country, this deranged President thinks he ended the pandemic???

I am glad he is finally saying what he thinks instead of being diplomatic which I understand he felt he had to do following in the footsteps of previous presidents. I guarantee that if Biden wins this election and we somehow manages to get Trump and his elk out of the white house, he will not be diplomatic for the next four years regarding Biden’s presidency.

As brilliant as Obama’s speeches may be, the question is are they swaying undecided voters enough to make a difference? I hope so. I keep asking myself how we went from this man to Orange. Obviously there was a vast swath of Americans who were really unhappy by 2016, so much so that they put the Clown in Chief into the White House. I hope enough of them now realize what a tragedy their decision has been and they vote Biden now.
He did not win the popular vote. The EC put him in the White House.
@Merricat he still won, which means enough people actually went to the polls and check his name. Yeah, lots of cheating and all of that, but the point is enough people voted for him to give him the numbers to win. Hopefully Obama can reach some of those people who sat it out because the hate Hillary, or just wasn’t enthused.

I think Trump went salty about covid the day he saw it trending more than he did on Twitter. It even has its own trend, unlike him.

I am one of the 47 percent of suburban white women who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. I just voted yesterday for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I voted for President Obama twice. Of course President Obama does not need to swoop down and save white people from their own mess. We are blessed that he chooses to do so. He is a truly great leader and yes, it was a travesty that trump was “elected” as backlash against a black man. It is shameful and despicable that trump’s only agendas were to undo Obama’s legacy, corrupt the entire federal and state governments, make illegal money from his position and spread hatred and bigotry. Thank you, President Obama, for fighting to crush this maggot.
