WaPo: ‘Total monster’ Donald Trump is ‘indignant, unmoored & psychologically fragile’

President Trump holds an event on Protecting Seniors with Diabetes

Spare me any and all of the “new tone” crap. That was all over cable news and social media yesterday, as the traitor in the White House gave a lil’ speech where he seemed to finally acknowledge that a new administration would be coming in. Donald Trump kept his eye on the Teleprompter and delivered a speech which was stilted, rather than his gleeful, seditious, violence-inciting speeches on Wednesday. Trump’s Twitter account was locked for part of the day on Thursday, and when the account was unlocked, he posted this sh-t:

“I immediately deployed the National Guard…” No he didn’t. He reportedly refused entreaties from the Pentagon and Joint Chiefs to authorize federal resources to retake the Capitol. It was up to DC Mayor Bowser to coordinate with Virginia and Maryland’s governors and get them to send their National Guard. Eventually, hours into the siege, the Pentagon had to seek Mike Pence’s authorization to bring in their people because they weren’t getting it from Trump.

And this: “My campaign vigorously pursued every legal avenue to contest the election results. My only goal was to ensure the integrity of the vote. In so doing, I was fighting to defend American democracy.” What utter f–king horsesh-t, especially given that ON WEDNESDAY, as his violent cult had successfully laid siege to the Capitol, Trump was still making videos saying that he totally won the election and it was being “stolen” from him. Are you f–king joking.

He also says, in the video: “Now Congress has certified the results. A new administration will be inaugurated on January 20th. My focus now turns to ensuring a smooth, orderly and seamless transition of power. This moment calls for healing and reconciliation.” He did not use the word “concede” or “concession” anywhere in the speech. Nor did he apologize for anything. Stephen Miller wrote a very careful speech, I’ll give him that. Trump said enough to keep half the Republican caucus on his side while still carefully wording things so his cult would still be agitated. But what happened before this f–king hostage video? I’m so glad you asked:

President Trump spent more than 24 hours after instigating a mob to violently storm the Capitol trying to escape reality. Cloistered in the White House, Trump raged uncontrollably about perceived acts of betrayal. He tuned out advisers who pleaded with him to act responsibly. He was uninterested in trying to repair what he had wrought. And he continued to insist he had won the election, even as his own vice president certified the fact that he had not.

Only after darkness fell in Washington on Thursday, after the Capitol had been besieged by death and destruction and a growing chorus of lawmakers had called for his immediate removal from office, did Trump grudgingly accept his fate.

Some of his advisers had pleaded with him to give this kind of speech in November, after it was clear he had lost. Those appeals only intensified this week. During his 2-minute, 41-second speech, Trump read from a script that he agreed to only after a pressure campaign from Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, legal counsel Pat Cipollone and members of his family, officials said.

The portrait that emerged from interviews with administration officials and Trump advisers and associates, many of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to be candid, is of a president indignant, unmoored and psychologically fragile — one who some aides believe has sabotaged his legacy and threatens the orderly transfer of power to President-elect Joe Biden.

One administration official described Trump’s behavior as that of “a total monster.” Another said the situation was “insane” and “beyond the pale.”

“He is alone. He is mad King George,” said a Republican in frequent touch with the White House. “Trump believes that he has these people so intimidated they wouldn’t dare mess with him. I think Trump doesn’t understand how precarious his situation is right now.”

[From WaPo]

Yesterday, I tweeted about this really dark sixth-sense premonition I’ve been having for the past few weeks. All of the cameras are on the exterior of the White House on the evening of January 19th, and suddenly we can see smoke coming out of the building. A dawning horror that Trump is literally setting fire to the White House so Joe Biden can’t have it. Like, I keep seeing the same image of smoke rising from the WH. I hope that doesn’t happen. But I think there’s a good chance it will.

Kaiser, I’ve been having similar dark premonitions. My dad actually just said yesterday Trump might burn down the WH. And my dad is almost always right. He’s predicted a lot of Trump’s behavior.

There’s no bottom. I am fully prepared for a Waco style siege of the WH and Secret Service getting shot at. This is not over.

    • Miranda says:

My stepmom said the same thing. It’s kinda weird how everybody sees this going down the same way: literally in flames. If it does happen, maybe we New Yorkers should torch Trump Tower in response. It’s an eyesore anyway, and is essentially a monument to a greedy, sociopathic, racist piece of shit who committed treason, sedition, and has the blood of hundreds of thousands Americans on his hands.

    • Alexandria says:

If (an empty) WH burns down maybe it’s a good thing. Start anew and no need to sanitize. Use American labour instead of slaves. Hopefully he burns down an empty WH.

    • B n N fn says:

You might not believe this, I just said to my friend we have to be very alert because he’s capable of burning down the WH.
I don’t believe anything he said last night, he is the the reason that officer is dead and that woman was shot to death. He has blood 🩸 on his hands.
He’s corned and he’s the most dangerous now more than ever, he knows the gig is up.
      He must go today.

    • Esmom says:

This crazy state senate candidate (who frighteningly barely lost) in my area constantly posts “stolen election” sh^t and fawning Trump-as-God memes, had a post after this video yesterday. He and others are convinced Trump’s mention of “the next administration” means it’s a republican administration. They were coming up with outlandish President/VP combinations with lots of praying hands and heart emojis. I…can’t.

    • Snuffles says:

I could see Trump trying and maybe doing a lot of damage but the WHOLE thing? I doubt it. It’s a big place. There is the West Wing and the East Wing. The East Wing and the residences are quite big. The West Wing is rather small.

I’ve been inside the West Wing. Got a personal tour during the Obama era. That’s where the Oval Office is. The press room, etc. It’s surprisingly old and dilapidated. And I hear it has a terrible rat problem. It could definitely use an overhaul.

As for what will happen on January 19th. I’m thinking he’s gonna Hitler himself.

      • Esmom says:

I have been thinking about how this ends for Trump and I don’t think he has it in him to Hitler himself. And I think he still thinks he has a perfectly viable future.

      • Seraphina says:

@Esmom, yes to what you stated and he is a narcissist, no way would be off himself.

      • Nini says:

Narcissists don’t usually kill themselves. Their biggest fear is the destruction of the self. Sociopaths on the other hand are often completely unafraid of death (or anything else).

      • Circe says:

I think he’ll run — to Ukraine or Belarus, Slovenia, or maybe Israel. The narrative will be I STILL LOVE AMERICA SO MUCH BUT YOU DONT DESERVE ME. People are worrying about him running in 2024, but honestly, I don’t think he’ll live that long. Right now I truly believe he’s being patched together with pharmaceuticals and access to the best doctors at any moment.

      • Lady D says:

“And I hear it has a terrible rat problem” Is that a joke or are there actual rodents in the White House:)

      • Ohlala says:

@Circe what a stupid comment to make. Why would he run to Ukraine? Who will want him there. Or Slovenia? Do you realoze these are democratic European countries and to throw them in one line with Belarus and Israel is a bit of a stretch and showing ignorance.

    • Dilettante says:

      Hostage video. Great characterization.

    • Tiffany says:

A Nazi burning down the house built on native land and the backs of slaves.

Isn’t that too on the nose for 2021.

    • Kaiser says:

It feels like so many of us are feeling our sixth-sense psychic powers tingle… there will be fire and it will be bad

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

I’ve been thinking he’ll be inciting his MAGAts to set various fires all over DC. To be so spread out so as to tax the FD’s ability to get to them all in time. I’ve dreamed this the last three nights now. *shudder*

To say he’s crazy is an understatement. We’ve seen the sharpest decline this last year. He’s also higher than a kite most days. Even on my iPad screen, I could see how HUGE his pupils were during that flat-toned speech.

      • McGee says:

I’m afraid it may not be the WH set aflame.

    • Emily says:

I’m Canadian, but my dad and sister are somehow Trumpers. Very confidently they told me that Trump — not Biden — will be the president on January 20. It’s eery how confident.

The inauguration shouldn’t take place at the WH. I’m not sure how they could keep a second location secret though when this was clearly allowed by people on the inside.

      • Sandra says:

The inauguration is not at the White House. It’s on the grounds of the Capital. But I do think it should be moved inside somewhere secure. I do think there was some talk about that.

    • MM2 says:

Somewhere in our psyche, do we all remember that piece of how the Nazi’s took control? I have been afraid of the Reichstag Fire repeating itself for a long time. Humans tend to redo history, we know he’s capable of trying this & I don’t doubt this isn’t in his wheelhouse. Luckily, he’s past the time that this will work to his benefit in the long run, but, my god, I was seriously scared he’d do this & it would work during the last 4 years.

      • Juls says:

Yes, I’ve been fearing a Reichstag fire for a long time too. Maybe that’s what Wednesday was all about? An attempt to de-legitimitize Congress and suspend the constitution? Declare martial law? Maybe testing the waters to see if the police and military would back him? Scary thoughts. And yes, I believe he will burn the WH before giving it up. Sends cold shivers down my spine.

      • MM2 says:

I think Trump has had it on his radar as well & the people blaming Wednesday on antifa are playing into his hand. Luckily, it’s not enough radicalized loonies to be successful, but damn, yes, this is scary stuff.

      • Trillion says:

From Bill Moyers on Democracy: Something like this happened not too long ago, in 1923 in Munich. It was called the “Beer Hall Putsch,” an attempted coup d’état by Hitler and his followers, which was calculated to seize the power of the Bavarian state government (and thereby launch a larger “national revolution” against the democratically elected Weimar Republic). The attempted coup failed after four police officers and 16 nazis were killed. Hitler was sentenced to five years in prison for “high treason,” but was out with a pardon after less than a year. In jail, he wrote Mein Kampf. The next time round, Hitler sought election to the chancellorship. He lost, but became chancellor anyway, and the rest is history.

    • Kt says:

I think he slinks out in the middle of the night like bullies always do

    • Sayrah says:

I’ve been thinking more of a Hitler in his bunker situation.

    • Leigh_S says:

I’m not afraid of him burning down the WH. I’m afraid he has someone loyal who will help him use the codes on Washington to take out all his ‘betrayers’ at once while he hides in a bunker somewhere.

I’ve been afraid of this for a long time, and its much worse after Wednesday’s failed attempt

    • My first thought is: would he even have a clue as to how to start a fire? This is a man who has no real world skills beyond wiping his own a@@. I doubt he even knows how to drive, operate any kitchen appliances, etc. We do know he can dye his own hair and do a incompetent spray tan. He has some sort of valet for his clothing.
To start a fire he’d need matches or a lighter. Where would he get those? His valet? Secret Service? The kitchen? And then we’d have a witness.

    • Lucky says:

I know this will sound crazy, but: In January 2020 my goat died. She was a young mother who was totally healthy and then just dead. Something about that moment I was standing there and I said to my wife, “I think this year will be nothing but death and it will get so bad. I can see it in her eyes.” My wife (knowing I tend towards anxiety and panic) was like “oh no, things happen. this is nature.” But she was missing the bigger message of what I was saying. I wasn’t panicked or freaking out – I just felt it all coming.
I can see the smoke as well. I don’t know if it will be a real fire or not, but I do have a feeling it will be the end. Like that smoldering flame is the end to all of this and I truly hope that we will finally get some justice and change in the aftermath.

      • clomo says:

I’m so sorry, for me my animals are part of my family and losing one is very painful. Animals love unconditionally, so sweet.

  2. Seraphina says:

Yesterday’s statement had to be scripted and a video, because they need to be able to control the situation because if they don’t he will go rogue and they know it. The real Donald showed himself in the video released Wednesday afternoon AFTER Biden’s. Let’s not forget his last words in that video: Our incredible journey has just begun. Those are ominous words from a man who incited a riotous mob on the nation’s capitol. Allowing him to remain in power and in the WH is huge mistake and sending a message to others that we tolerate this type of behavior.

    • Darla says:

I think McConnell and others let it be known privately that he was going to be impeached, removed, and very likely indicted. He was forced into it because they bully got scared. Let’s see how long that lasts.

      • Golly Gee says:

Yup. The only reason he came out condemning the violence in the end was because he was told there could be legal repercussions, and he knows his days of invincibility are numbered.
As I mentioned on another thread, an advisor told reporter Olivia Nuzzi that he was enjoying watching the siege on TV, but didn’t like the messiness.
        Here’s a quote:
“Donald Trump was annoyed by the violent siege on the Capitol Wednesday — which left several dead — because it looked ‘low class,’ according to his adviser. ‘He doesn’t like low class things,'” Nuzzi said.
So no remorse, just a sense of aesthetics, dictated by his belief that he’s entitled to a higher class of loyal subjects, rather than his army of knuckle draggers.

      • Mac says:

Chao and DeVos didn’t resign because they have principles or character. The 25th amendment discussions are happening.

      • Darla says:

        @Mac I think you’re right.

      • WayupNorth says:

Rats fleeing a sinking ship. I up here in Canada feel wwaaaayyyy too close for comfort at this point.

      • Juls says:

Devos may have resigned, but her brother’s private militia is waiting in the wings……we should all be on high alert. This isn’t over. Dump said the journey is just beginning. Its maybe the first time he was telling the truth.

      • Traveler says:

@Mac I am sure you’re right. Effing cowards.

    • Esmom says:

Yeah and that alone is such an insane dereliction of duty — that our “leader” is incapable of appearing in person and facing the press. This alone seems like a perfect example of his utter unfitness for office. And yeah, in trying to strike a balance, the speech still left so much open for the zealot base to ravenously consume and fuel more false hope. It’s so scary. He is so scary.

      • LillyfromLilooet says:

@esmom I am deeply disgusted that Jack Dorsey let him back on Twitter. Terrible. He should have to face the press.

    • MyOpinion says:

@ Seraphina, Agent Orange only posted that very scripted video once he found out he could be charged for inciting violence, this is another reason why he is petitioning a pardon for himself and his children! The great news is that after January 20th., none of us will care what he does, well we will if it pertains to jail time!!

      • Babz says:

The only reason I’m in favor of impeachment over the 25th is that if he’s impeached and convicted, they can then take a vote to prevent him from ever running again. I thought impeachment automatically prevented another run, but they were just discussing it with a Congress person on MSNBC, and prevention is a two-step process – conviction in the Senate, then the prevention vote. I still would rather have them go that route, because Pence, for whatever reason, seems incapable of invoking the 25th. He did his job the other day, but seems to have reverted to his loyal, toadying persona. I also think more cabinet secretaries will resign rather than cast a vote to invoke the 25th, because apparently seeing the Capitol stormed and people killed still isn’t enough for them to grow a spine and remove this madman. Chao and DeVoss didn’t resign because of their “discomfort “ about the riot, they did it to save themselves. I just want him gone by the quickest means, because 12 days gives him way to much time to instigate more evil things.

      • Seraphina says:

Trump’s actions are ALWAYS for his own self interests. Thus, that video was to save his skin. And we should be super focused on him after 01/20/2021. His last sentence in yesterday’s video is a war cry to his minions. He is continuing to Tweet to them. Having off our radar would be a huge mistake. HUGE, in my best Trump impersonation. You don’t let a criminal, an unstable mentally delusional criminal, walk free unsupervised.

      • Babz says:

You’re absolutely right, Seraphina. He’s back on Twitter, and someone posted a screenshot of his Parler page, which he joined about an hour ago. There’s only one reason he’s on Parler, and that’s to exhort the Orcs. Twitter is littered with Parler screenshots of them boasting about what they have planned for the Inauguration. This is not over by a long shot. He needs to be removed immediately, but that won’t stop his rampaging mob army. If he’s removed they’ll be more pissed than ever, but even so, he has to go.

  3. Miranda says:

He is fucking LOVING this carnage. Just like with his execution marathon. You have to think that he’s sitting in his bunker with a closed-circuit TV, watching all this violence unfold and trying desperately to get his sad little mushroom (thanks, Stormy Daniels) to cooperate.

He should be forced to attend the inauguration, and act as a human shield for Biden.

    • Genevieve says:

There was a video that Junior posted of a bunch of them watching it on a big screen. There was definitely a celebratory mood.

      • Esmom says:

That video was horrific, but it was before the rally Wed morning. They were getting pumped up like NBA players before a playoff game, ready to hit the stage to incite the crowd. Did you notice the song “Gloria” they were blasting? Laura Branigan’s estate tweeted that they want no association with those people or that event and condemned their actions.

      • Miranda says:

        God, this family is trash.

      • Indywom says:

Junior has been noticeably silent as all the Trump children and their other halves. Probably figured out how much legal trouble they are in. Even if Daddy pardons them, they could face a number of lawsuits. These people are indirectly responsible for the death of a police officer and placing another officer in the position of shooting a person. Hopefully, that killed all chances of a White House run in the future. Guiliani should be disbarred.

      • whatWHAT? says:

“Gloria”?! a song about a woman who’s always chasing men and is essentially a gold-digger but has lost her looks and doesn’t realize it?

        uh….sure, makes sense.

        /S

      • MissMarierose says:

Junior was so clearly high as a kite in that video.

    • MyOpinion says:

@ Miranda, 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I think your suggestion is exceptional!! But the little baby and his temper tantrum is taking himself out on January, 19th! The coward won’t even be there on the 20th!!!

      • Rapunzel says:

Myopinion: I am now wondering if Trump’s desire to avoid Biden’s inauguration is because he’s scared to be near the violence he knows is gonna go down 🙁

      • WayupNorth says:

Well, or he might appear to have taken himself out…Putin disposes of what he’s finished with.

    • Liz version 700 says:

And there are pictures of Ivanka and shared with moving trucks. So burn the Capital then split town…

  4. Lizzie says:

He is a danger to the country every minute of the day. Each crime emboldens him and I shudder to think what could be next.

  5. Darla says:

I don’t think Trump will set it on fire, but I was just on Twitter and they have a lot of Parler posts copied there about plans for the 19th and 20th. It’s terrifying. They might set the WH on fire, yeah. Are the FBI ready? is the National guard ready? I don’t want Biden and Kamala inaugurated in public. Just move the inauguration and tell no one. It’s virtual anyway. I’m very scared.

    • MattyLove says:

Darla, I agree. Just get it done-no need to take risks by doing it in public. Just televise/stream it.

    • Alexandria says:

Agree. Inaugurate Biden Kamala in private. It’s the spirit and legality that counts.

      • CoKatie says:

No. I disagree. Biden and Harris NEED and deserve to stand at that podium and have the world see that we are starting a lawful transition of power, as per our Constitution, and at the direction of a majority of Americans who voted them in. No hiding. No perception of fear. They (and us) have earned this.

Pence will be there to witness it. As for that Orange Menace and his entire despicable family, let THEM crawl out of their hiding places and go on to their empty future (which will hopefully include jail time). And honestly? Trump is done. The riot he incited this week, the blood on his hands from those that died there, the depths to which he drove this country’s reputation… It’s done. Any hope he or his family had for a financially or politically successful future is over. The emperor truly had no clothes.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Alexandria, Lyndon Johnson was sworn in on Air Force One on his way to Dallas after Kennedy’s assassination. Others have also been sworn in in other places than D.C. There’s a Congressional Inauguration Committee that actually determines the place, etc. I think they should do it privately–only the people who need to be there and televise it for all of us. Biden/Harris are not safe and won’t be for a long time. These people are not going to go away for possibly years. Hopefully, the FBI will keep arresting them and they can live off of the taxpayers in prison.

My friends and I have been saying for the last year that we really think that Trump will burn it all down before he goes. We never meant it literally, but Trump destroying whatever he could in our government–oh, yes. Also, someone suggested that he wants a civil way because if Congress declares war, he gets to stay in office. This man is beyond dangerous. His Niece, Mary Trump, was interviewed after the insurrection. She said that for the next two weeks he’s very dangerous.

Also, you all might like to listen to the press release from the Maryland Governor’s office regarding everything the State of Maryland did to get law enforcement and the National Guard to D.C. You’ll find the info about the National Guard very interesting. It seems where the Secretary of Defense failed, the Department of the Army did not.

        https://governor.maryland.gov/2021/01/07/this-assault-on-our-democracy-cannot-stand-governor-hogan-provides-update-on-marylands-response-to-insurrection-at-u-s-capitol/

    • Golly Gee says:

6000 National guard will be there plus I’m guessing FBI and whatever police forces are around.

      • Thirtynine says:

It only takes one traitior in the ranks though. And there ARE traitors. We know it now. The Dems campaign videos were stunning. I have full confidence they could do a completely creative, amazing Inauguration video. I mean, if I was making a movie, I’d do it on the deck of that John McCain ship at dawn, surrounded by a few servicemen they’ve supported, or something. I think the actual inauguration part doesn’t take long, like a wedding. Its all the unnecessary hoohah that takes up space. Things don’t always have to done the same way to be right. After Kennedy was shot, it was done on the run. Different circumstances, different responses. And it sends a Covid responsible message-“Stay home, watch this, and pray for the nation.” They could start on making a video right now, at the same time a continuing to plan a physical inauguration as a decoy.

    • Esmom says:

I mean they had no problem mobilizing enough manpower for BLM marches so we know they are capable. After Wednesday I’m sure they will err on the side of showing as much protection as possible being mobilized but who knows how effective it will be if people in law enforcement want the chaos to ensue.

I was reading that one reason the capitol police were so gentle was because a lot of off duty cops were among the mob. Frightening.

      • Golly Gee says:

The national guard offered manpower to the capital police well ahead of the event, and they refused saying they weren’t needed.

    • damejudi says:

Put Biden and Harris on Air Force One, get it in the air and inaugurate them there. Keep them on the move until it’s safe.

      • MyOpinion says:

@ Golly Gee, the Capital and DC were both offered the NG on Sunday ahead of the violence from the deranged and demented MAGATS! Both declined, and Agent Orange did NOT call in the National Guard, Penis Pence did.

      • Jezebeelzebub says:

YES, or… I was thinking on a submarine. Literally anywhere that nobody can get to them I’m not kidding, I’m extremely worried for them both but for Harris especially.

  6. HeatherC says:

I never post here, but I had to share this with you. I don’t have a Twitter account – but for those who do, can you share this? I would also love for Kaiser to see this. It needs to be everywhere, as Trump’s people really do have blood on their hands.

The way Junior barks “Kimberleh” to beckon her. Shudders.

I mentioned above, Laura Branigan’s estate wants no association with this, as they blasted her song to pump themselves up for the madness.

I am fascinated by Don Junior’s coked up demeanor. He doesn’t even seem to have full control of his mouth. I see an OD in the future, perhaps? He hasn’t tweeted since Wed afternoon, which has to be a record.

      • whatWHAT? says:

Esmom, I noticed the “coke jaw” too. his mouth moved exactly the way I’ve seen coke users’ move.

    • Seraphina says:

It sickens me to watch the video and enrages me at the same time. Rejoicing from a distance as others put their life on the line. Mindless masses. The blood spilled is on their hands.

  8. MellyMel says:

Yeah, I don’t think he or his cult followers are “done” now that he’s made this little speech. I’m genuinely concerned about Joe & Kamala and what’s to come on inauguration week. I wish I was less pessimistic, but these ppl are truly unhinged.

  9. Darla says:

I was there for Obama’s inauguration. I went with a group of liberal friends, we had spent the W years together. I was the communications person for a liberal activist group during those years. It was so beautiful. We had been there so many times during the W years, and people do forget how bad those years were. I have stories, believe me, we had to hide our identifying marks from the group we represented, back then Maga called themselves the tea party, and they roamed the streets of DC during large events, in the very early morning hours when they knew we were setting up, looking for a stray lib they could push around (or maybe worse, I don’t know, they never found us).

Anyway it was so beautiful, oh what a day! I knew getting out of DC afterwards would be a nightmare and I got a hotel, some of my friends did too, and we celebrated and got drunk. If anyone could have come up to me in that hotel bar and read me the future, what the Obama years would lead to, I would have fallen off my chair. And you could not pay me enough to be in DC next week. Don’t you think I’d like to Kamala sworn in? To celebrate at Georgia Brown’s? (well, I wouldn’t do that regardless because of covid). But 12 years later there is no joy in this inauguration. Just terror for my country, for Biden and for Kamala Harris.

    • Esmom says:

Oh Darla, thanks for sharing. No joy in this inauguration at all, only fear and anxiety that Joe and Kamala survive and that DC doesn’t burn to the ground. And we barely had a moment to savor the historic GA wins.

Hang on to those memories. I have never been to DC but my friends and I had a kinda fancy (for us) brunch party for Obama’s inauguration, which I also remember vividly. We toasted and cried through the proceedings and I felt a lightness I haven’t felt again at all, except for maybe a few minutes after hearing the race called for Jon Ossoff. Maybe someday we can get back to feeling actual hope again. Right now it feels impossible, but I can’t imagine how we’d be feeling if Trump had won another term and if the GOP Senate majority had held.

    • olliesmom says:

The Tea Party was awful but nothing like these MAGATs. And what became of the teabaggers?

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Teabaggers are at Lady G’s “parties” 🥴😂

        (Sorry…couldn’t resist!)

  10. Arpeggi says:

I read the WaPo article last night and kept think that it must have been the 958th one about him raging, sulking, insulting everyone cuz he didn’t get what he wanted while watching TV and not doing the job he is supposed to do. And yet, 35% of the pop probably still approve of him.

There’s been a terrorist attack in Nashville that apparently no-one cares about, earlier this week, Republicans in Pa also attempted a sort of coup, refusing to let newly-elected Dem swear in. It’s not just him or even the hundreds of terrorists that invaded the Congress this week, it’s all the other ones too, that have been gulping the same BS by the same fake news outlets, we have to care about. Clearly they can do a lot of damages

    • Esmom says:

So true. PA is truly insane right now. The BBC yesterday had a GOP representative on to get his take about the Capitol riot and he blamed “the radical left” for inciting it, would put zero blame on Trump and would not back down from that position. It was sick and the interviewer was clearly stunned by the guy’s delusion.

    • Veronica S. says:

They know their days of grabbing power democratically are numbered as demographics shift, so they’re making their moves before it’s too late. The PA Senate situation is insane because it’s entirely symbolic – even if they seat that Democrat, they still hold the majority. It’s 100% a power play to see if they can thwart election results. People really need to start paying more attention to state elections.

  11. Rapunzel says:

The video has some of his supporters feeling betrayed by his “concession”- they really thought he’d be their dictator.

Other supporters were convinced the video was him saying he’d still be president’ they were posting memes of him shaking hands with himself- welcoming the “new administration”

Meanwhile, his supporters are spilt between “it was an antifa false flag” and “it wasn’t any more violence than a BLM riot /average Chicago day and we were totally justified.”

New conspiracy theory is that the dead woman didn’t really die.

These folks are not good, or stable.

  12. WeirdFishes says:

He didn’t use the words “concede” nor “conciliation” in his statement because his vocabulary is limited to “bigly” and “covfefe”

    • B n A fn says:

He did not used those words, “concede or conciliation” because of hid limited vocabulary. He did not write that speech, it was written for him, he does not believe what he was reading. He read it to buy time to plan for more destruction to the government. Don’t believe him. Remember there are good people on both sides with Charlotte village.
His people believe he has betrayed them and they are saying there are more destruction coming. He must be taken out today. We are in grave ⚠️. When are they going to arrest 45, Rudy, Donald Jr. they should be arrested now.

      • olliesmom says:

His body language and his face in that video as he was saying those words were saying something completely different than what he was saying. He doesn’t believe a word of it and I agree, he did not write it.

  13. J ferber says:

Twitter and Facebook need to ban him permanently. Remove him now. He is unfit and rabid.

  14. Leah says:

“He is alone. He is mad King George,” said a Republican in frequent touch with the White House”.

Tyrants always end up alone at the end. I figure this will end in a few ways, and all involve him being carried out one way or another. DC should pay close attention to the threats his followers are making because I have no doubt they are planning another siege to keep him in power. The city needs to be sealed off before the transfer of power can begin.

    • Juls says:

I’ve had ‘King Nothing’ by Metallica on repeat. Perfect song to describe this Orange bag of flesh.

  15. damejudi says:

He’s not psychologically fragile. Whatever his mental health problems are, he is psychologically disordered, and his behavior is dangerous to others. At the very least, he’s a malignant narcissist.

He should be on a 5150 hold.

  16. Veronica S. says:

Which means he is now at his most dangerous. I guarantee you his supporters will try again before the 20th. Even if it doesn’t occur then, I have a grim suspicion we’re going to see an increasing amount of domestic terrorism in the coming years. Don’t be surprised when Republicans still balk at removing him, though – this time, not so much as to appeal to the base, but out of fear of turning that mob on themselves after they’ve now had to face it.

    • Vizia says:

Yeah, he’s decompensating, but he’s a figure-head for people who have wanted this for years. A convenient malignant narcissist, easily manipulated by adoration and flattery. He’s terrifying and capable of enormous damage on his own, I’m not trying to minimize that. But the darkness that fuels him has been around for a long time–he gave them permission to come out in public, and a platform for all the conspiracy theories and evil. I know some of these people–they don’t care about Trump, they don’t like him, they just laugh about how they use him to get what they’ve always wanted.

    • Vizia says:

Several of the sites devoted to this ideology have been planning for the 6th, and the 19th/20th, for quite some time. Even if Trump didn’t push them towards it, it was going to happen anyway. These are not private channels–anyone who cares to look at them–parler, thedonald.com, DLive etc–can see the chatter.

      • HoofRat says:

I used to work in. Family Violence prevention program, and we were always advising those planning to leave abusive situations that they would be very vulnerable at that time, as a users will do anything to retain control over their targets. Believe me, that thought has been playing through my head since the election.

  17. Snuffles says:

    Wow, everyone having premonitions.

I’ll share mine then. I had a dream the night before. But before I go into it, I’ll preface it by saying that on very rare occasions I have these. My first time I was a teenager and I woke up swearing I was hearing sirens. I lived in the boonies surrounded by farms and woods so these sounds weren’t normal. I remember walking into my parents room, asking if they could hear the sirens and they told me I was dreaming and to go back to sleep. A few days later, there was a horrible accident at the entrance of my neighborhood.

In more recent years, before the DC sniper I had a dream of someone shooting up my family home but my family was OK. Not long after the sniper had struck at two locations that were literally around the corner from my parents and my brother’s houses.

And before 911, 2 days before I heard a loud chorus of voices in my dream saying “ghost world” and woke up freaked out.

So fast forward this week, my dream the night before. I was walking towards a grocery store and the people around outside were unnerving me. I felt the sudden urge to get as far away from the building as possible. I started running and began running up a dirt road. I passed by Trump and could hear him on the phone complaining how unhappy he was about something. Then I walked past Biden and turned to him asking if he was hearing this. He gave me a curt nod and I kept running. Then I kept running. As I got close to my home, the ground started shaking and splitting open. Before I shook myself awake I heard someone say “But don’t worry, everything will be OK.”

    • B n A fn says:

I’m hoping everything will be ok, but I believe he’s going to do some more damage to the country before he leaves.

      • Lady D says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was another country that caused the destruction before he leaves. The govt. is in chaos, the US is vulnerable in a way it has never been before and he has pissed off a lot of countries that have no reason to love the US. Stay safe, friends.

    • elle says:

Every hair on my body is standing up, reading this.

    • L says:

Snuffles your post gave me goosebumps o_o

  18. Prof Trelawney says:

Weird! I had a nightmare Tues night that thick black clouds were descending all around me, so thick I could see them swirling, couldn’t see past them. I’m hoping that was premonition for what happened Wed, but I too am worried this isn’t over… Esp if zero consequences…!

  19. Emily says:

I really don’t want to speculate too much but I… wonder if we are going to see something similar go down like it did for the end of Salvador Allende’s presidency in Chile–that coup was in part orchestrated by the US government by the way. As in Trump will share the same fate as Salvador Allende (who I am not comparing to Donald Trump, just to be clear).

  20. Suezyqh says:

He’s laying the foundation to claim “insanity” if/when he is indicted after he’s out of office.

    • Julia K says:

This saving himself and throwing his complicit family and followers under the bus to fend for themselves.

  21. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

His anus-shaped mouth is so frakking offensive, and the words oozing out of it are nothing but bile. His monumental lies will never stop, and my only hope for that piece of shit is a slow death while some brave soul sows his lips together with barbed wire. I apologize for my lack of decency.

  22. Marigold says:

There is zero excuse to not remove him from office. Zero.

  23. Digital Unicorn says:

I don’t think he will figuratively burn the WH down but the Presidency and US democracy are going to take an even darker and more damaging hit that the one that we saw on Wednesday – something big and bad is brewing. Everyone can see it – those who have resigned now are only doing so cause they know what is coming.

  24. MA says:

Remember when Pelosi ripped up Trump’s speech and the Trump-enabling media and politicians clutched their pearls.

    • olliesmom says:

Yep. And God forbid taking a knee. But it’s acceptable to violently storm the capital.

      • Just A Thought says:

Preach, they called the players SOBs simply for taking a knee in regards to police brutality. To this day I don’t care watch the NFL.

  25. Zia says:

Im a bit concerned that Biden is taking the train to the ceremony. I just don’t think he should. Maybe he’s just saying he is and he will do something else.Hopefully. But I know, that in a traditional sense, he really wants to carry on like past presidents and live the glory of that day with all the traditional ways. But we have a terrorist in chief that could seriously pull something crazy and i think Joe should be extraordinarily careful with his decision to take the train. Uggg… the fact that we even have to think this way! NUTS.

    • olliesmom says:

And I wish that Biden and Harris could have a normal ceremony/day because they deserve it. Maybe if Donnie would have actually done something instead of calling it a hoax we wouldn’t be at this place.

  26. Jaded says:

Getting him out of the WH asap by any means available seems to be Pelosi’s main focus right now.

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/08/politics/pelosi-letter-on-nuclear-codes/index.html

    • Christina says:

Pelosi is doing what she can; she is amazing. I just hope that she is able to get the impeachment through if Pence doesn’t invoke the 25th amendment. Pelosi/Omar’s resolution is written and ready for Monday. Pelosi is smart: she knows that Pence may do it, and she’s given him time to organize the cabinet against Trump if he chooses to accept the mission.

Initially, I thought that Pence wouldn’t invoke the 25th amendment. Pence is the fastest route to get the matches and nuclear codes away from Drumpf’s fat fingers, and his refusal to communicate with anybody hopefully means that he is planning to invoke the 25th. He’s sort if an evil genius who holds his cards close. Working for big tobacco made him very good at slight of hand with a steady hand. I hate his politics, but admire his cold-blooded abilities. He’s fine with playing second fiddle as long as he is moving toward his plans. I hope that his cold-bloodedness kicks in now that Drumpf tried to get him killed, because that is what a lot of those MAGAts who stormed the Capital had in mind.

  27. olliesmom says:

The headline on Yahoo! news just now is: “Pelosi seeks clarity on Trump’s nuclear access”. Good Lord that’s frightening. Also, he’s not attending Biden’s inauguration because he’s a big huge baby (and he wouldn’t be welcome there anyway).

  28. Mel says:

Remember what Cersei did to the Sept in GOT? I hope that nothing like this happens and that Trump is arrested when Biden is sworn in…

  29. florencia says:

I get everyone is scared, but it’s worth pointing out if something was done to Biden/Harris by insane Trump terrorists, Pelosi, then Schumer and then other dems would just be next in the line of succession. The mob attack on Wed was horrifying, but it was also entirely scattershot and unsuccessful, let’s not give these rioting morons, though scary, more power by letting our terrors run away from us.

    • Delilah says:

“Let’s not let our terrors and fears run away …” Yes, thank you. Giving Trump and his cult too much power is dangerous. They need to know our strength. We are 81 mil to 75. Good prevailed. Trump legit lost the election and the GOP lost the Senate. We overturned Georgia. We are the victors. Indeed, while it’s true we must stay vigilant so that things don’t descend into chaos, we must have faith we will prevail.

  30. Implicit says:

It’s definitely on the frequency because I said he won’t be happy till he burns it down

  31. olliesmom says:

Pence has to be pretty much done with Trump at this point for trying to bully him and then endangering his life.

  32. Leah says:

They just suspended his Twitter account. Forever.

    Yippie ki ay. About time.

  33. samipup says:

I get premonitions too. I see pictures in my head. I saw chaos the morning of 9/11 as I had written the date on something at work. I had, for an instant, a strong smell of fuel at the time of the first plane crash. When the Challenger crashed, I saw it, in my head while driving and nearly went off the road. I think this type of sense is one we all have and those who pay attention to it help it develop. I have not yet seen anything re: 1/20, except writing the date scares me. My birthday is the next day and that date scares me too but not for me but something I don’y know.

  34. DenG says:

January 19 is Robert E. Lee’s birthday. Not a good thought right now.

  35. Rise & Shine says:

There is is absolutely no level of low the Trump Kushners will not go beneath. It IS frightening, and it is true. All of them referenced those that acted so atrociously and egregiously on January 6th as Patriots. NO! True patriots are all of those that risked and sacrificed their lives on 9/11 to save others and to defend our government buildings, including the House of Congress. Those were Patriots, not these people.

  36. L4frimaire says:

I remember when Trump won in 2016, I wrote “ Goodbye America, we had a good run since 1776”. The damage this man has inflicted on this country will last way longer than the four years he was in office. He has irrevocably broken faith in our system and completely exposed the rot that was underneath. He has laid the groundwork for a one party state. I am so angry and truly want him and all those who supported him to suffer. Unfortunately, they won’t, but we will. Our rights are hanging by a string and they will do everything they can to further restrict our rights, sow violence and divisions, and invalidate legal challenges to right wing hegemony. This selfish, egotistical man and those, most notably those Senators who know better and endorse his lies, have undermined our democracy and we just can’t fix it and forget it.
