Meghan McCain: Dr. Fauci should be fired because he doesn’t ‘understand science’

Skeet Ulrich visits Build Studio in New York promoting 'Riverdale'

As we all know, Meghan McCain is the worst. She stands for nothing, she’s a dumbass and she probably voted for Donald Trump, the man who said that her father is burning in hell. She parrots right-wing talking points constantly yet inconsistently. She says “my father” about everything, even armed insurrections. And now Meghan McCain would like to see Dr. Anthony Fauci – the director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases – fired because he doesn’t “understand science” and because he has not personally told her, a 36-year-old clueless Nazi Barbie, when she can get a coronavirus vaccine.

Meghan McCain, who may have been reading too many Ben Shapiro tweets Monday morning, embarked on one of her signature rants during which she both complained about not getting a COVID-19 vaccine yet—despite her position as a co-host of very important daytime talk show The View—and called on President Joe Biden to fire Dr. Anthony Fauci and replace him with someone who actually “does understand science.”

She began by sharing a clip of Fauci on CNN’s State of the Union over the weekend resisting Dana Bash’s plea to give concrete advice to vaccinated grandparents about how to visit their unvaccinated grandchildren. “There will be recommendations coming out. I don’t want to be making a recommendation now on public TV,” he said. “I would want to sit down with the team and take a look at that.”

“So I was very frustrated when I saw this clip,” McCain said, explaining she has “respect” for the pandemic that has now taken more than half a million American lives and doesn’t mean to “downplay” the tragedy. “That being said, next week it will be a year since we left the studio and I have been very responsible in many different ways as so many Americans have been. And the fact that Dr. Fauci is going on CNN and he can’t tell me that if I get the vaccine, if I’ll be able to have dinner with my family.”

“It’s terribly inconsistent messaging and it continues to be inconsistent messaging,” she said, comparing the U.S. response to a billboard from Israel she saw online—“Get a shot, take a shot”—that promised people they could go to bars with their friends after getting vaccinated.

“The fact that I, Meghan McCain, co-host of The View, don’t know when or how I will be able to get a vaccine because the rollout for my age range and my health is so nebulous, I have no idea when and how I get it,” the 36-year-old pundit said. “I want to get it. If you call me at three o’clock in the morning, I will go any place at any time to get it.”

“I want to be responsible and obviously wait my turn,” she continued, “but this rollout has been a disaster. And I understand President Trump can take much of the blame, but now we’re in the Biden administration and I, for one, would like something to look forward to and to hope for because if getting the vaccine means that just nothing changes and we have to wait another few years until everyone gets it, there’s already a lot of people not getting it.

“So I’m over Dr. Fauci,” McCain declared. “I think we need to have more people giving more opinions and honestly quite frankly, I think the Biden administration should remove him and put someone in place that does understand science or can talk like these other countries about how we can be more like these other places that are doing this successfully.”

[From The Daily Beast]

Countries like Israel have been able to get so many people vaccinated because their population is around 9 million. It would be like America pouring every national resource into merely vaccinating New Jersey. America is big and distribution will obviously be a much bigger issue in a huge country, especially compared to a densely populated country like Israel. As for Meghan’s bitching about how she has some particular need for the vaccine because she’s a View co-host… my God. So many white women really think this way though.

Here’s the clip – Meghan actually goes on and on about this, but yeah. Peak White Woman. Big “I Want To Speak To The Manager” Energy.

How terrible it must be to wake up that willfully stupid every day. Ugh.

    • Liz version 700 says:

Willfully stupid is the perfect wording. She chooses to be this stupid.

    • damejudi says:

Exactly. I read this stuff, and I think “Is this performative? Is this some sort of weird persona she’s chosen for her tv role?”

Have your opinions, have your viewpoint, but lead with intelligence.

    • Her father must be rolling in his grave about how she voted for Trump even after he dragged her beloved father’s name and service through the mud. I remember her eulogy at her father’s service and it’s like night and day to the total idiot she is now. Seems she had one moment of clarity in her grief and that was all she got.

      • ElleE says:

Her father is the source of her republican “values”.

Why are we creating this myth that JM anything but a lifelong republican? Why does anyone on this board think that he/she knows JM more intimately than his own daughter?

LINDSEY GRAHAM WAS JM’S BEST FRIEND.

JM CHOSE SP AS HIS RUNNING MATE. He knew about her family, he knew she was a misogynist herself, he knew what the end-goal was: own the elitist libs.

He could not fight back against anything Tr*mp said about him because he himself shared the same values: the statements about veterans, all of it. Think carefully: when did JM say he was “proud to serve” in response to DT’s digs about being a loser who was captured? The media created a myth and his wife is selectively perpetuating it.

If there is one thing I learned from the last administration is that the republicans are the party of Tr*mp: the racism, misogyny, and the hate was there all along, just beneath the thin veneer of civilized discourse.

    • paranormalgirl says:

My husband calls it “militantly stupid.”

  2. Teresa says:

I genuinely don’t understand why she is tarnishing her families name. John McCain I think would be disappointed in her at this point. And I am not defending things he said or did, but he at least had enough intelligence that I think he wouldn’t have dissed Dr. Fauci.

    • Liz version 700 says:

Both of her parents were/are better spoken than this. It is amazing to watch her act like a spoiled dumb toddler

  3. SarahCS says:

How is she paid for this nonsense? Yikes.

  4. OzJennifer says:

Her hair stylist clearly despises her.

  5. BlueSky says:

Wait? She’s John McCain’s daughter??? She never mentions it! 🙄

She’s so used to using her white privilege to get what she wants that her brain is malfunctioning at the thought she can’t use it to cut in line to get the vaccine.

When are they going to get rid of her. She uses her father for relevancy and I read that the person who has been protecting her is no longer with the network.

    • UptownGirl says:

Yes!!! They must dump her ass!! She is a cancer and should have NO place to speak to people!! I don’t watch the show or her, but come on!! Dump her a$$ now!!

  6. Who ARE these people? says:

At 36, healhy enough to go on daily TV and wealthy enough to get everything delivered, she should be setting an example of patience and selflessness.

    • Liz version 700 says:

Exactly. I want the vaccine, and I have asthma so I really am afraid of Covid. But I allowed to work at home right now and can afford to have what I need delivered. I am not gonna complain and try to shove grandma out of the way to grab a vaccine. Be a damn grown up!

    • whatWHAT? says:

*insert GIF of Veruca Salt stamping her feet*

“but I want it NOW, daddy!”

  7. smcollins says:

    I’m sorry, WHAT?!

  8. Snuffles says:

Does this self absorbed trick realize that the Biden administration already told the public that the Cheeto administration left them with NO roll out plan and that hundreds of millions of vaccines that were supposedly purchased DISAPPEARED!?

They literally had to start from SCRATCH. So, cool your jets you entitled brat and let the grown ups do their job.

On a personal note: I was on a family Zoom call this weekend and almost all of my senior cousins have been vaccinated. Both of my parents have gotten their first shots. So progress is being made. We ALL need patience.

    • SarahCS says:

This is the rant I debated posting! Plus the previous administration did nothing to slow the spread of the virus which has made everything else so much worse.

We’re in the UK and people who’ve had at least their first shot are getting ever close. It feels great! Now to tackle my ‘the vaccine makes you infertile’ and other nonsense mother…

    • Mac says:

I don’t know when I will be vaccinated, but I know where and how because I registered with the health department in my city. Pretty sure she can do the same. Or maybe she is waiting for an engraved invitation.

    • Agirlandherdog says:

She obviously doesn’t understand politics, or manufacturing, or distribution…

Also, Dr. Fauci is smart enough to know what from what he *does* say, people will pick out the parts they want to hear and discard the rest, so he has to be very careful.

    • SofiasSideEye says:

Right!? Biden has been in office a little more than a month, starting from scratch and has still gotten more things done than Dump did in four years! She sounds dumber than a box of rocks.

  9. atorontogal says:

Nazi Barbie, Can’t Understand Normal Thinking.

She needs to take a seat and watch while all seniors and vulnerable people get their shots. And for her stupid “Im Meghan McCain” comment, she should go to the back of the line!

    • Miranda says:

I can’t believe she actually said that “I’m Meghan McCain” comment. I think that tells us all we need to know about her lack of self-awareness. She sounds like an outlandish parody of an entitled, rich white lady. Like she’s just about to demand to speak to Dr. Fauci’s manager.

  10. Osty says:

Nothing new here guys , just head Karen being stupid

  11. Miranda says:

One of the best indicators of true intelligence (not that Meghan McCain would understand anything about that) is knowing what you don’t know. That’s what Dr. Fauci is doing here. He has no control over the vaccine rollout, and he doesn’t want to give concrete dates because that would get peoples’ hopes up, and inevitably invite more and worse criticism if there were further delays. Meghan needs to sit her entitled ass down.

  12. mynameispearl says:

The countries that are fastest at rolling the vaccine out are Israel and the UK, both of which have a National Health Service, that is probably a big part of it also. The UK NHS has been absolutely brilliant at the roll out. In addition to the roll out of vaccine, the UK government were for once quick off the mark on procurement.

I don’t know why she is blaming the Chief Science Officer for what are administrative and logistical issues. Wrong person, wrong team.

    • Noodle says:

“…and put someone in his place that does understand science.” If her complaint is vaccine rollout, why is she questioning his scientific knowledge. He is a scientist, not a community planner, nor an all-seeing, all-knowing being. How does he know what is being done at my local CVS? His job is to advise on matters of epidemiology and public health.

      The levels of people’s stupidity, I swear…

      • Julia says:

That comment blew my mind, because logistics are not epidemiology. If you call your doctor’s office and they can’t get you an appointment any time soon because they’re all booked up, is your first thought: ‘Clearly, my doctor DOESN’T UNDERSTAND SCIENCE?’ One has nothing to do with the other!

    • Sienna says:

Here in Canada we have a national health service and our roll out has been beyond abysmal. The US has done a much, much better job than we’re doing. With zero domestic production and a leader who’s more interested in covering up probes into his unethical deeds, and preparing for an election, than running this country and keeping us safe. We still don’t have all of our health care workers vaccinated.

      • JCan says:

We don’t have a national health system in Canada, we have provincial health systems. I agree the rollout has been abysmal. Also, the companies we bought our vaccines from reduced their shipments to us because of need in the EU (where we have to get them from because the US won’t export theirs). They’re only now starting to up their shipments to us. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/covid-19-vaccine-update-feb-18-1.5918175

      • Jaded says:

Justnot Trudeau should be ashamed of himself, he’s mis-handled the vaccination roll-out horribly. He should have been on top of this a year ago. I can’t wait to vote him out.

As for Meghan McCain – why is she given a platform to spout such idiocy? She’s as dumb as a box of mall hair and her mother must be so embarrassed by her (and her father must be rolling in his grave.)

      • Janice says:

Trudeau really f*#@ed up badly. He is so out of his league. My 95 year old dad (veteran) and 92 year old mom STILL haven’t been vaccinated! They’ve been told that maybe by April they will. Sheesh, what does that mean for the rest of us. What the hell is Meghan complaining about. As far as I’m concerned, Biden and Fauci are doing an incredible job.

      • kat says:

@Jaded, who will you vote him out in favour of?? There is no chance of an NDP majority or even minority if we’re being honest with ourselves, so Erin O’Toole?? 🤢 That’s not going to make anything better…

      • Charfromdarock says:

We don’t have production because or privatization by the Conservatives.

@jcan is correct. We have provincial systems.
My province has most of the LTC patients, front line health care staff and the Indigenous population vaccinated. The next trays of vaccines are going to 85years and older.

Also, M Mcain is a grade A biatch.

      • Sienna says:

Thanks for the clarity Jcan. I always felt we had national health due to the Canada Health Act, that was created federally and administered by each province.
My vote will definitely be O’toole in the next election- Unless the liberals sack their leader. Harper was bad, but Trudeau unethical and sneaky – and that makes him dangerous.

  13. ME says:

Let us not forget she is married to a garbage man who co-founded garbage website The Federalist. Also, she’ll just try to “my father” her way out of whatever next hot water she gets into. Bah.

  14. LightPurple says:

I agree with whoever wrote that article that she was channeling that imbecile Ben Shapiro, who has been on a fire Dr. Fauci rant for days now. Cindy needs to have a serious talk with her daughter.

And the Trump administration left every single federal agency an utter shambles. It isn’t as easy to clean that up and function properly immediately.

  15. Lanie says:

Meghan McCain is a national embarrassment.

    • Merricat says:

      100%

    • Liz version 700 says:

Amen!! This times 1000. She is embarrassing

    • Pusspants says:

Indeed she is! And her entitlement is off the charts! I’m not a fan of John McCain’s due to a bunch of his political stances & the fact that he went along with the Palin thing. However, when he was a young man in Vietnam he showed great courage as a POW and refused to benefit from being his father’s son and accept the offer to go home early from the POW camp. If he had Megan’s attitude he would have been screaming as soon as he was captured, “Don’t you know who I am? Send me home now or we’ll drop an H bomb.”

    • shanaynay says:

      She certainly is

  16. Becks1 says:

I feel like she’s just the spokesperson for a certain segment of white women. There are so many who think this way – that THEY are entitled to the vaccine for XYZ and Fauci or their governor or Biden or whoever is standing in their way (like states arent busting their butts to get as many people vaccinated on a daily basis as possible) and that THEY Should be able to see their parents because THEY are responsible and so on. And they dislike Fauci because their lives arent back to normal yet, but Fauci has been very honest IMO about the timeline here, even if some things keep changing (because hi, pandemic) and when we’ll be back to normal. I dont recall anyone saying that by February or March everything would be normal again.

  17. Lady Luna says:

The Caucasity of this woman. Why is she a thing? Is it because they need a conservative woman in the panel? I’m sure you can get one who actually understands science and know her stuff. Or they just want her for the ratings? Appalling.

  18. Elizabeth says:

Megan is deliberately being a jerk for attention. She literally just wants to complain about Democrats not fixing everything in one week and make excuses for conspiracy theories like her husband spews on the Federalist.

    • Kalana says:

That’s pretty much it. Meghan is a jerk so she can get attention. That’s her entire schtick.

Why don’t Republicans demand better than people like Meghan McCain or the people on Fox news? My family is a mix of liberal and conservative. I may be a lefty liberal but I grew up hearing sound and genuine arguments for conservative policies. There are smart and interesting people who could do this but instead we get Meghan McCain or Tucker Carlson.

    • Lucy2 says:

I agree. She gets a lot of attention when she says stupid crap like this, and she must love it. She gets to complain, and then play the victim when people call her on it.

But I do also think she believes this particular thing, because she is very entitled, self absorbed, and just a jackass. I don’t doubt for a second that she thinks she is incredibly important and deserves to be first in line for everything.

  19. Kristen says:

I’ll never forget the time that she was on Bill Maher and said she didn’t know about something because she hadn’t been born yet. She got just slammed.

    • Soupie says:

Really foolish of her to say something like that to Bill Maher, of all people. I can’t believe she even went on his show, but I think she was trying to prove to everybody how big her balls are.

So done with this privileged white chick. Get somebody on there from the “right” who is working class – that’s my take on this whole thing if they’re going to have somebody that’s from the “other” side.

      • Lightpurple says:

Maher was among the first to invite her on any show when she decided she wanted to be a pundit and he was protective of her because she was so young at the time and just starting out but willing to come on the show.

  20. Cee says:

Wait until she hears some countries aren’t even able to purchase vaccines to cover their populations.
I won’t get vaccinated for a long ass time until most countries use their doses and then labs start mass producing for private labs and maybe then I’ll be able to PAY FOR IT.

I’m sure White Nazi Barbie will be vaccinated by the end of the year while I’ll be vaccinated by the end of 2022-2023. So yeah, my violin has disappeared for this asshole who can’t even recognize how privileged she is.

  21. Amy Bee says:

She needs to be fired for being so stupid.

  22. agnes says:

Dumb stays dumb, she proves it every time she decides to open her mouth and let sounds come out of it.

But: Can we talk please about her hair style? Holy crap, her stylists really truly, deeply hate her, non?
Is this supposed to be a hommage to the dead animal her Dear Leader is flaunting?

  23. whateveryousay says:

I really want to fight her. As someone who is older and black and still hasn’t gotten the vaccination she can take a damn seat.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

And you should be getting it at a younger age than a white person your age.

Well – John McCain voted against making MLK Day a national holiday. Lest we forget.

  24. Aeren says:

Take all the seats you badly coiffed twat! These are very uncertain times, nobody is enjoying it and we have to be patient and make the best of it. She’s one of those idiots who thinks life is “fair” and can’t fathom the fact that there is no one authority to make everything better.

  25. M Narang says:

As a Scientist, it takes 10+ years just to get all the necessary degrees and then another 5 years of post-doctoral training. Dr. Fauci is 80 years old so he also has about 50 years of actual research work under his belt. He’s also not the only person making decisions. There is a big team under him who painstakingly are looking over global data. The reason he can’t yet speak about vaccinating kids is because those clinical trials are currently underway, in kids 12 – 15 year old. Kids under 12 have not be tested in North America yet. Science isn’t a belief system. It’s is constantly changing based on evidence. That’s how we extended life expectancy from 40 to 80 years.

  26. MattyLove says:

“Someone who understands the science????” Dr. Fauci literally wrote the books on this science.

    Take all the seats, lady.

  27. emmy says:

Girl, the man understands science. You just don’t understand the scientists. Maybe don’t brag about being a “highly educated woman” and then let the world know you can’t grasp the concept of data collection and evaluation?

  28. Liz version 700 says:

Whew, there is a lot to unpack here. Generally I don’t object to stupid people being on TV…stupid people have to earn a living too, but most seem to understand they should stay in their lane. But this stupid woman is too arrogant to realize she is doing actual harm. Anyone stupid enough to listen to her could end up sick or making someone else sick or dead. She needs to go period. Given her hair and make up of late her makeup artist and hair people despise her, her co-hosts look ready to have a stroke….just go do stupid stuff off of TV

  29. MsIam says:

Sure Meghan, this award winning scientist needs to have a seat because YOU say so. Got it. The View needs to post a job opening real soon, I’m sure there has got to be somebody on the right with a brain. Maybe?

  30. vertes says:

Her mother came out last fall in favor of Biden.

    • Liz version 700 says:

Her mother has class, not sure what happened to the daughter but it didn’t get passed down.

      • HoofRat says:

Her mother started her relationship with John McCain while the latter was till married to his first wife. Cindy may have more class than Ms. Browbraid, but that’s not saying much.

  31. Izzy says:

She and her busted hair need to stay in their own lane.

  32. Leah says:

She really isn’t doing her dad proud.

I mean even after Trump said those things after her dad died, she still supported him. Awful.

Dr Fauci has a medical degree from Cornell and is a immunologist. What about you Meghan? *quickly checks wiki*, she has a bachelors in art history. A BA doesn’t make you a medical doctor honey, so take several seats over there…

  33. GrnieWnie says:

Baffling. The lack of self awareness. She, a person with zero scientific credentials, imagines herself credible when it comes to assessing someone else’s scientific credentials.

I do not understand this attitude. Yet it is pervasive in society.

  34. fluffy_bunny says:

I’m so tired of listening to Megan whine about how she wants to be able to go to dinner parties again. It’s never ending.

  35. Bath Lady says:

Actually, Kushner probably sold all the missing vaccines to Israel.
He referred to the PPE as “ours”…& he didn’t mean Americans. He meant the Trump/Kushner clan.

    • whatWHAT? says:

      yeah, this.

as soon as I read “missing vaccine doses” I figured they stole them and sold them to another country and then pocketed the $.

  36. Christin says:

Spoken like someone who has someone “assist” them with the daily tasks of life. Looking up your local/state information isn’t that hard.

If she has a defined higher risk health condition (such as obesity), then she may be close to qualifying in her state. Whatever state she claims to work or reside in. Unlike most of us, she probably has multiple choices of where to register for her vaccine.

  37. Rapunzel says:

Meanwhile, I have a pre-existing condition that puts me at high risk, and I’ve volunteered to help (registration, etc) at the vaccine clinic my county has at the college campus where I teach. No vaccine available for me yet.

Get your head out your ass, Megan. And stop expecting that the Biden administration can just snap its fingers and fix everything in a month.

  38. Teebee says:

This chaos and debating are exactly why she’ll be on The View forever. Shows love a controversy-generator, so she’s probably encouraged to be as mouthy as possible. She is there to specifically represent the other side, so they’ll watch. Or we hate watch. But she also doesn’t like being criticized, she hates the mocking, you just know she has the most fragile ego ever. So she cares what’s said about her, it may galvanize her and make her even more stubborn, but she whines and feels bad ALL THE TIME. It’s so obvious. And that’s all the comfort I can glean from someone like her. She might be willing to be a right wing punching bag, but she also spends a lot of time feeling sorry for herself.

  39. Jayna says:

She would never vote for Trump because of her complete adoration for her father. Trump’s treatment of and comments about her father enrage her. She didn’t even want his spawn at her father’s funeral and was pissed off Ivanka showed up. Nope.

But Meghan’s tirade about Fauci is despicable. Listening to far right hubby-dearest, I guess.

  40. Case says:

Does she not understand that Dr. Fauci doesn’t want to make recommendations without preparation on national TV because when you give people an inch, they take a mile? We’ve had people going to bars and spas and flying to different countries this ENTIRE PANDEMIC. So yeah, of course he’s hesitant to officially tell people what’s acceptable once they and their family members vaccinated. I also think the answer is just common sense, which Meghan and a lot of people don’t seem to have.

  41. Elo says:

If she wants to skip the line she could go creepin on a vaccine facility like that other semi- famous white lady did in the article yesterday.

I have to say though, I feel her frustration. I haven’t hardly left my house in a year. I haven’t seen family and only one friend a handful of times. I have been at home with my child nonstop for a full year and I want a vaccine so bad. None of this is Fauci’s fault but I’m gonna give her some grace just like I would want grace given to me when I get jealous or mad because I see people around me getting vaccinated and I have no date to look forward to. I feel like this is hard for all of us. Even bad haired, vapid and stupid Megan MCCain.

    • Jenn says:

Like you, I’ve been at home for exactly one year. I’ve only left the house to keep my most important medical appointments (my next appointment is to test for an antibody deficiency). Yesterday I commented on this website that some of the ire is probably coming from people like me, who have multiple high-risk conditions that aren’t mentioned anywhere on our states’ vaccination schedules. Like you, I have no date to look forward to. I also agree with McCain that the schedule is inscrutable even under new leadership.

But in this clip McCain said she’s been “very responsible in many different ways, as so many Americans have been,” which honestly feels SO disingenuous, because her lips are so very freshly filled. I realize we all have different definitions of what constitutes an “acceptable risk,” but you just KNOW she’s been going out all year — she wants a vaccination to use as a moral “pass” to continue doing whatever she’s already been doing. People like McCain confuse their own sense of overall discomfort for “being responsible,” and it drives me up the wall.

      • Elo says:

I don’t disagree. I didn’t watch the clip as her voice drives me up the wall, but I know what you mean on the different definitions of being responsible that exist.
An acquaintance has been posting all year about her fear and the trauma this is causing her (which I understand) she rushed out and found a vaccine for herself and her husband both late 30s early 40s, but the entire time she has been going and getting tattooed.
It’s the weirdest damn thing to me lol.

No kidding though, I hope you get a chance soon. What is going on currently with rollout is so depressing and anxiety inducing and in many ways, unjust.
        Sending hugs your way.

      • schmootc says:

I hear you. I only have one condition (asthma), but my state is still doing the elderly and teachers. A friend told me someone else we know with epilepsy just got her first shot, which is confusing because people with risky health conditions aren’t even on the schedule yet, and she’s definitely not elderly. But I tell myself I have no idea what’s actually going on with her, maybe she got a spare shot that was going to spoil like so many have or maybe the friend who told me misunderstood. Or maybe she qualified via another avenue. I have no idea, and for now, I just have to wait, like everyone else is and give others the benefit of the doubt.

I would still like MM to hush up though. She makes more sense than many MAGAs, but that’s not saying a lot.

      • Elo says:

        I feel you, it’s confusing.
My city, San Antonio has nothing on the schedule. There are no registration links, none of the places they have posted have vaccines at all. At this rate it looks like it will be late summer before I can get a shot.
I’m trying to mentally prepare myself to have to wait another 4-6 months. I’ve even thought at times that I should just go ahead and catch it just to get the awfulness over.

  42. FancyHat says:

I’d bet $1,000 she voted for Trump. She hates Democrats more than she loved her father.

To paraphrase a great movie – Arrogant and ignorant is a terrible way to go through life.

  43. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I wish ABC would sack this insufferable blowhard. She easily makes conservative women look angry for no reason and, well, just plain stupid. Come to think of it, so did that Elizabeth chick who preceded her. I’m sensing a pattern…

    • Chrissy says:

@NotSoSocialButterfly: EXACTLY!!! ABC needs to get her off the air.

It is a shame because her mother is a good and smart woman, so the apple just missed this branch entirely.

  44. Bibliomommy96 says:

This Karen! I have had to work every day of this pandemic, with the public, praying I don’t come home and give my family covid because people don’t care about me, and I get yelled and berated at least once a day because ‘merica, and people can’t wear a freaking mask.
But poor MyFather mcain wants to go to bars, so she should totally go first.

  45. Mel says:

In France the rollout hasn’t been great either. I have a theory about Israel (could be wrong, don’t yell at me): Netanyahu pretty much had a foot in prison. I think they put all their efforts into the rollout to save him.

  46. Delphine says:

This b*tch. Get in line after the teachers and custodial staff at our schools lady. As if she’s more important than getting our kids back to school. She’s all entitlement with zero self-awareness.

  47. Amelie says:

She needs to take a seat. The US’s vaccine rollout program is far from perfect and I’ve heard that the NY and CT websites to sign up for an appointment are beyond confusing. I’m going to assume it’s the same for a lot of states. However in comparison to other countries, our vaccine rollout program is way better then what is happening in Spain or France for example. I talked to my cousin last week in France, she and her husband do not know anyone who has received the vaccine. My grandparents who are in their 90s still haven’t received and according to them the nearest vaccination site is 40 miles away. (Which I cannot understand because I looked at a map of vaccine sites in France and there are supposedly plenty near their city so I dunno if it’s lack of appointment availability or if the site is lying). Apparently people in France are very wary of the vaccine and many don’t want to get it.

Whereas most of the people on Celebitchy know people who have gotten vaccinated or maybe you got the vaccine yourself. We aren’t far off from the vaccine becoming widely available. All my friends who work in schools have gotten it, all my friends who work in the medical field have gotten it, my elderly relatives and family friends have started getting it. It hasn’t been without its struggles, the websites are confusing, and the info may not always be clear. But it’s working because millions have gotten vaccinated. Meghan McCain definitely knows people who have gotten the vaccine. She is lucky to be living in a country with a somewhat decent (not perfect or seamless mind you) vaccine program. I get she says this nonsense for attention but she is not that important. She is a deceased politician’s daughter who is a TV host on the most annoying talk show. Not like Dr. Fauci who is legitimately helping save lives.

  48. Josie Bean says:

Now she has Fox News reporting her comments about Dr Fauci. Just what she wanted – attention.

  49. Murphy says:

She lives in New York right? Shouldn’t she be aiming this at Cuomo? You’d think she’d be just as willing to go after that target.

    • fluffy_bunny says:

I think she fled to VA when things got bad in NYC. I’m not sure if she’s back in NYC because they are all working from home. The fact that she’s not railing against Cuomo leads me to believe she’s not back in NY.

  50. HoofRat says:

During the CBS Sunday Morning profile of Cindy McCain, they showed a photo of Cindy and Myfather with duct tape over their mouths, from a poster promoting Cindy’s anti-human trafficking initiative. If someone cropped the portrait down to just Meghan’s face, I’m sure they could sell a million copies. I’d certainly buy a few.

  51. Tiffany :) says:

This FOOL wants certainty from Fauci, and it is an immature and ignorant ask.

This is a new virus, we are still learning about/discovering variants and how they impact vaccinated people. She wants to be told after she gets a vaccine, it’s ok to hug unvaccinated people? Well then wait for the SCIENCE to come in. The reason they aren’t saying that now is because they don’t have the data!

People want to be given hard deadlines of when they will get vaccinated, when things can open, when they can be close to people, but it is just not realistic. Pouting and blaming Fauci doesn’t make it better.

  52. Em says:

This is the man who helped write the Holy Grail of Internal Medicine- a huge multiple volume text that we in medicine use as an ultimate reference source. People like her don’t understand that this is not purely a SCIENCE issue. There has been a lot of conflicting or unclear information to the public in part because the CDC and NIH have been suppressed and controlled by the Trump administration, limiting the ability of clear information free of political influence. So Fauci isn’t going to come out guns blazing making a comment one way or the other without being clear that it doesn’t skew the public health message to any direction or extreme due to risk of misinterpretation. Having had the vaccine does NOT mean it’s “safe” to do anything in particular. It doesn’t minimize the risk of transmitting Covid. It minimizes the likelihood of severe disease in yourself if you’ve been vaccinated….there is so much eagerness to return to normalcy- obviously for everyone. But vaccination doesn’t yet mean you’re protected until more herd immunity has been achieved. I’m so tired of laypeople making their own inferences and trying to challenge people who have dedicated their lives to medicine and public health. People in medicine are just effing tired now of brainless idiots trying to challenge science.

  53. Mel says:

Did anyone tell her to shut up?

  54. Melanie says:

I’ve worked for a lot of doctors and all I got out of him not answering the question yet, was to think that would be the appropriate response from any good doctor that does not know the best answer yet. I’d rather a doctor admit he’s not sure yet than to think he has to make something up just to give us an answer.
