why does anyone think that is fake? that looks real to me!

    • Stacy Dresden says:

      Definitely looks real

I saw a news expose a while back that showed that “faux fur” is a lot of times REAL fur…just not the fur it claims to be. Like it’s fake mink, but it is really raccoon or something. They took all of these clothes from various stores and tested them, and nearly all of them were animal based. It might have been sensationalized, but the thought horrifies me.

She lost her style mojo, I need Mel Ottenberg back!

    • Anony83 says:

I don’t know, I kind of like those pants and I usually hate camo.

      • Moxie Remon says:

Personally, I think he gave us more editorial looks, which were iconic and these, I’m not feeling it. It’s the styling, this stole looks off for some reason.

  3. Anony83 says:

Other than the fur thing, I kind of love the rest of this outfit and I am not usually a fan of camo. The cut of the trousers are beautiful on her and the shirt just looks comfy.

    Riri gonna Riri.

    That’s it.

    That’s the comment.

It’s his birthday this week and every year they do Read across America in our schools during his birthday week and they have dress up days and talk about him and read his books. That is what has set off the Republican faux outrage over him right now. Because the estate I believe decided to announce that they are no longer printing certain offensive books.

    • cantdoattitude says:

also penguin random house announced this month that 6 of his more racist titles will be going out of print, including: and to think i saw it on mulberry street, if i ran the zoo, mcelligot’s pool, on beyond zebra, scrambled eggs super and the cat’s quizzer.

so there’s been a lot of talk about whether dr. seuss is cancelled or if this is just a responsible act by his estate. i go with the second-it was his estate that made the decision. no one really cares about how dr. seuss is racist.

      • cantdoattitude says:

here’s an ok article from the guardian about it, in case any one is interested.

      • Emm says:

Right. You know what’s weird is that I just did a book purge in my house and threw out “and to think I saw it on mulberry street” because it was super boring and my kids never read it, we never got more then a couple of pages in so I don’t even remember the pics.

      • cantdoattitude says:

i’ve always thought adults get more out of seuss than kids do. they’re too long for readalouds and too boring and obtuse for most independent readers at that age. there are so many better choices for both these days.

      • BeanieBean says:

It’s more of a publisher’s move, these titles are outdated & probably not selling anyway.
Liked Lainey’s take on TQ’s statement, especially the tag, ‘douchebags’.
Rihanna’s fur certainly looks real to me.

    • marci-m says:

Those Seuss titles are not well known/popular. If the publisher had just quietly dropped those few titles, nobody would have noticed. Hundreds of books go out of print every year. This uproar was unnecessary.
