I stopped watching Law & Order: SVU when he left. I can’t wait either!
SO CAN’T WAIT for this! Looking forward to his spin-off, too, but THESE TWO TOGETHER!! His SVU is supposed to be about organized crime, and there can be a lot of cross-over shows with trafficking, sex abuse, etc. to keep bringing Stabler and Bensen together!

Am I alone in thinking the Benson / Stabler dynamic got to be very unhealthy and not fair to their respective romantic partners? Like, Olivia grew as a person and a professional, times 3000, once he left.
But their dynamic was NOT romantic in that sense. Did they love each other, sure…as FRIENDS. Remember Stabler was married the whole time he was on the show, with 4 or 5 kids. It’s their WORK partnership/relationship that was stellar. The trust they had in each other. That was the draw.
That’s not true tho – they kissed (romantic, on the lips) by the car in the dark their last episode together where he says he can’t work with her anymore bc he cares more about her than anyone
