Please do not comment “who?” on this post. I am trying to highlight Wunmi Mosaku, a Nigerian-British actress who absolutely killed it in Lovecraft Country. I had no idea that she was British because her accent work is excellent, but more than that she was compelling and sexy on screen. If you haven’t seen Lovecraft Country and you like horror (it can be hard to take unless you’re a horror fan), please watch this excellent show. You will come away wanting to see more of the cast, particularly Wunmi. Last night at the BAFTAs Wunmi was nominated for best actress for her work in His House, a horror film about South Sudanese refugees in England. It’s on Netflix and I haven’t seen it yet. The trailer is terrifying and I’m definitely watching it, but not alone. If Wunmi is our new scream queen I’m here for it.
Her dress is Alberta Ferretti! I love the jewel tone and the classic off the shoulder silhouette. Her jewelry is so gorgeous too.

Vanessa Kirby was also nominated for best actress, for her work in Pieces of a Woman. I fast forwarded through that one as the film was really hard to take. Plus I can’t stand to see Shia LaBeouf after everything we know about him. Vanessa gave a great performance though. That category went to Frances McDormand for Nomadland. Vanessa is in Versace. I love how sleek this slate gown is.
Bukky Bakray was nominated for best actress for Rocks! She’s in Prada. She didn’t take home that category but she got the EE Rising Star Award.
Presenter Andra Day actually wasn’t nominated, which is bizarre to me. (She’s not British, but The BAFTAs are open to everyone.) She was lovely in a green Elie Saab gown with gold braid piping.

Dominique Fishback is definitely American and she was nominated for best supporting actress, for Judas and The Black Messiah. She’s in an amazing abstract print Georges Hobeika with a deep v-neck. We’ll be seeing more of her.
Wunmi Mosaku is also in the Loki series, along with Tom Hiddleston, Gugu Mbathi-Raw, and Richard E. Grant, all of whom presented. The show was well represented at the BAFTAs
Oooo, that makes me even more excited for Loki. Wunmi was *great* in Lovecraft Country.
Lovecraft Country is brilliant but I didnât even recognize her here in Hollywood glam. She really disappears into that role, which I think is a high compliment for an actor. Plus she really rocks those mid century fashions on the show.
I just looked at the trailer for Lovecraft Country and now I will be scared to sleep tonightđł. The trailer alone scares me to no end, but I know my daughter would love it as she is big into horror.
Wunmi was also in Vera for a series or two and was wonderful.
I’m loving the fashion on this post! They all look really good! Those jewel tones on Wunmi and Andra look extra beautiful and it makes their skin tones pop! A friend has been continuously recommending Lovecraft country. I might actually give it a shot.
Wunmiâs makeup was gorgeous and glows next to that necklace. Also, loved the print of Dominiqueâs dress.
Sheâs beautiful. Inside and out. Thankyou for highlighting our work with her!. âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸
These ladies all look beautiful. I love that color green and the entire styling for Andra Day.
Something I find frustrating at this point in award season is that there are really not many surprises. An award might be between two actresses or two BP nominees, but for instance, Vanessa Kirby is getting all dolled up to attend these awards she knows with absolute certainty she isn’t going to win. Yes, it’s an honor to be nominated, but isn’t that annoying for her? IDK. I love award season and always look forward to it, but then when I’m watching the shows I get annoyed with how predictable they often are.
The Versace is my favorite of this group, but wow, Wunmi’s dress is gorgeous! She looks lovely, and that necklace is great too.
Gorgeous. All of them.
I love Dominiqueâs dress and I donât usually like print dresses.
Me too!! As a petite woman, and she looks petite as well, itâs hard to pull off large prints, but she looks amazing!! In fact they all look gorgeous!!
They all look lovely but Wunmi, Bukki and Andra here have I’ll fitting dresses. Andra’s really bothered me yesterday. There are serious problems with that dress. Either it was ill fitting or just the wrong fabrication.
That being said Dominique looks absolutely stunning.
Wunmi seems to radiate from within. The dresses she has worn for the BAFTA promos have all been great, but what I like best, apart from her immense talent, is the way she’s being styled.
Looking forward to finding out more about what kind of person her TVA’s Hunter B-15 in the upcoming Loki series will be.
Ugh, even being a huge Marvel fan, I had absolutely no interest in watching Loki but now I guess I have to if she is in it. I watched Lovecraft Country and I need Wunmi content!! Like, as much as possible. Directly into my veins.
I love all those dresses.
Wunmi is stunning and that blue looks gorgeous on her (she has a couple Blue Dress moments in Lovecraft Country, too).
I love everything about Dominique’s dress and styling. And, in addition to her great work in Judas… she was also great in Project Power with Jamie Foxx.
Loved Wunmi in the last season of Luther. She is just gorgeous!
Wunmi was also on season two of In The Flesh. She was great on that too!
Yes! I was excited to see her in In the Flesh because I’d thought she was so good in a small horror movie called Citadel with Aneurin Barnard. Her face is freakin’ perfection.
His House was a GREAT film and definitely should be watched.
I have such a crush on Vanessa Kirby đ
