Courteney Cox’s pantry is so perfectly organized and Monica-like

One of my favorite Friends episodes is the one where Ross dates a beautiful supermodel, played by Rebecca Romijn, and she ends up being a hoarder slob. Spoiler – the end, where Monica comes over and tries to clean her place, is priceless. I met a guy early in quarantine who was like that. Fit, liberal and when I saw his house on Zoom I was appalled. It’s not that hard to clean up the space behind you! I’m the kind of person who shoves sh-t in drawers with a loose organization system and values a clean space over perfectly organized cabinets though. Not Courteney Cox! She recently shared this video on Instagram of her pantry, with the caption “Tell me you’re a Monica without telling me you’re a Monica.”

OMG her spices! I am so jealous. I have my spices laying down in a drawer (lined with contact paper, that makes me fancy) and sort-of alphabetized. As for my dry goods, some are in plastic containers, some are in their original packaging, but they’re put away and I can find stuff so it’s neat enough for me. I don’t think I would have the wherewithal to set up a system like this and maintain it. Did she get professional help with that? It reminds me of Khloe Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen’s amazing pantries, both of which were professionally created. I’ve watched so many YouTube videos (Do it on a Dime and Clutterbug are some go-tos) and feel like I’ve made enough progress with my house. However this week I lost the whisk attachment to my mixer and was digging through things trying to find it. I’m more of a Rachel though.

And it’s attainable! (Pretty sure it’s mostly Ikea)

I mean…if you have paid help just standing around, guess they’d be tasked to “monica” the F outta the pantry….

The drawer for all the various gadgets…!

The utensil drawer got me too. I don’t think I’ve seen that before.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

I’ve seen those. They sell them with the utensils. Cutco does one.

      • PrincessMe says:

That’s what got me too. The pantry seems normal, but my eyes were bulging at the utensil drawer.

@Wiglet Watcher, I’m going to have to look that up. I was wondering if she had it made for her utensils, but it makes sense being a set.

That drawer looks amazing, but what happens if you buy something new?

While the Gadget drawer looks very extra the rest looks more attainable and more realistic than the home edit celebrity pantries, for example it’s not all in rainbow order. She might actually have done it herself and use it.

Not as organized but the first thing I did when we moved ten years ago was having a carpenter basically recreate the big pantry I had at my previous house with pullout shelving so I can get to stuff in the back. Did alphabetize my spices during quarantine and having them in a pullout drawer is the best.

The Friends reunion promo has begun.

If she were the real Monica like I am, she would know that the sauce/dressing/condiment bottles should be arranged by height, taller bottles in the back, shorter in the front, like they are in my pantry. Also her spice bottles are not in alphabetical order, like mine are.

P.S. I took up organizing during the quarantine, to help with my anxiety and now I cannot stop, send help, please…I am disgusted with myself hahaha. ( Granted my boys are older, out of the house, and we are Empty Nesters, my kitchen was never like that when the kids were home, I didn’t even bother ).

    • PrincessMe says:

Yes, all day to arranging by size.

We remodeled our kitchen at the beginning of the pandemic, and when I got everything back in there, it was so organized we were all afraid to touch anything…for about five minutes. With three teens at home for a year, it’s all chaos again. If I had a dollar for every time my husband shouted, “Where’s the salt shaker?!?” I could pay for the remodel.

    • manda says:

we organize spices alphabetically too! Otherwise it’s nothing but chaos

I gasped at the utensil drawer. I’M IN LOVE!

I tried to have a spruce drawer like that and a pantry with pasta and crackers in glass jars. It’s tougher than you’d think to keep clean.
Crumbs in the bottom on jars. Smudges on glass from multitasking while cooking. She has cleaning help.

I tried to create a uniform and aesthetically pleasing pantry with mason jars and labels… but I need and buy things in much larger quantities that I had half full bags of stuff to store AND the jar of same to contend with. So I’m back to storing bags and boxes and tubs and jugs… we are a family of 5 adult sized eaters. We also are all cooks with experimental palates and a penchant for baking. My pantry looks like a hurricane hit it constantly, but it is organized chaos. At any time you can ask me where something is and I can dig and find it in seconds! Though if something happens to me… my family would be lost!☺️

There’s such a thing as too organized in my world lol. It begets a rigidity and inflexibility (that’s what I’m going with). But I’m a huge lover of wicker baskets of all kinds, lazy susans and unusual containers repurposed like metal chicken feeders and old vintage metal and glass items say from 19th century bakeries and medical storage. Anything that isn’t plastic.

OXO Pops containers people. They’re where it’s at.

Courteney is surprisingly great at social media. She doesn’t post a lot, but what she does post is always entertaining. She’s a good follow!!
