New “Hills” castmember Kristin Cavallari was a guest on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show yesterday. She was promoting her role as the “bitch” on the show, which premiered last night on MTV. In case anyone cares, Kristin explained that she doesn’t get along with Audrina Patridge and blamed it on Audrina, adding that Audrina doesn’t like her. She also denied the report that came out about their salaries, and said it’s not true that Audrina makes more than she does.
Ryan asked Kristin about the rumors that she dated John Mayer, which Mayer denied a few weeks ago with some creative tweets including “I have never Bensoned her Hedges, nor have I attempted to Bartle her James.” Mayer never denied hitting on Kristin, though, and she told Ryan Seacrest that he tried to pick her up but that she wasn’t having it, particularly because he’s dating a friend of hers. I kind of wonder who she’s talking about, although I don’t particularly care.
There was a rumor that you were dating John Mayer. How did that start?
To be honest, it’s interesting because I’ve met him once for literally five minutes.Did he ask you out?
No – yeahHe did ask you out. And you said no, why?
Yeah. I just feel like I don’t need to be another notch on his belt…I think he’s a really nice guy. One of my friends is hanging out with him.

Kristin also said that she’s not dating a businessman as has been reported. Her co-star and ex boyfriend Brody Jenner was on the air with her for a while, and he suggested that something was up with the business guy though. “I just think that Kristin doesn’t want to talk about that.” She assured us that she’s single, has been for two years, and that she likes it that way. Cavallari definitely seems to have some sense if she’s staying away from John Mayer and trying to keep her relationships under wraps. That’s not enough to convince me to watch her show, though. Someone’s got to be watching it.
Meanwhile Cavallari’s co-star Stephanie Pratt told Hollyscoop that she’s leaving the show after this season. “I think Audrina, Lo and I are all going to leave after these 10 episodes. I don’t know how much more I can take of The Hills. The Hills is very brutal.” There are a lot of people who agree with Stephanie, but is she sure it’s the best career move to step away from the show? It’s not like she’s in high demand.

it’s getting tired to read the same thing every day, that Mayer or others didn’t deny this and that on their twitter. twitter isn’t celebs’ rep, only an ocasional one when things go too far.
Who is Kristen trying to kid? If John asked her out she would be on him in a flash. I think a couple of years ago she said she wouldn’t do reality tv again because it would be a step back for her career. I guess when Kristen stopped getting attention, reality tv wasn’t beneath her anymore.

I have a confession to make. I have never before watched the Hills, but I stopped on MTV last night and was strangely taken in by Kristin…I know she is probably playing it up for the show, but she’s this strange mix of bitchy, tough, fun-loving (at least around the guys) and beguiling. Those other twats (excuse my french) don’t really compare. She is much prettier on camera than the pictures make her out to be. She reminds me of a prettier Chloe Sevingy — and I love Chloe!
Maybe things are totally different for “reality” stars like the Hills airheads, but in the REAL real world most employers have very strict policies about keeping salaries secret. Like ‘I would be fired for telling someone else what I make or talking about what a third party earns’ kind of strict. So it’s very interesting that the newest cast member seems to know that she and someone else make the same thing. I wonder if MTV is just different from most employers, or if she’s full of bs.
