This is my last Emmys post of the day! I’m out of practice covering these big awards shows. This past week has been a lot but I should not complain about my cush job covering entertainment news and fashion. First off we have Mandy Moore looking pretty but a bit staid in this Caroline Herrera gown. Now that I’m seeing it on her Instagram I like it more than I did on the carpet though. The top is kind of standard spaghetti strap fitted bust but it has a pencil skirt that flares out into a tulle back. That’s so clever and I appreciate that feature a lot. I would have liked to see her do something different with her hair but that’s a minor complaint.
Sarah Paulson was also in red Carolina Herrera, in a voluminous v-neck empire waist gown with balloon sleeves. Sarah wasn’t nominated this year, she was there as a presenter. I’m kind of divided on this dress. I like how bold it is, but it looks like so many other giant dresses we’ve seen before.
Beth Behrs was in a blush Georges Hobeika that had a little too much going on for my taste. It looks so pretty in motion though.
This is funny!

Yes, I thought Mandy was one of the best dressed! Simple but really well executed. Red looks great on her.
I think Paulson went too OTT for a presenter, and I HATE this trend of cleavage-showing dresses that pull your breasts apart and down? I saw several of those last night and yikes it’s not flattering on anyone.
Me too, I’m sick of all the boobage. From one angle they look droopy and another angle they smashed in. From JLo to Sarah, this fad does nobody’s figure favors.
It looks like the wedding dress from Beetlejuice to me, but I like that!
I like Sarah’s dress. Not crazy about the bust on Mandy’s and the bottom one is too glitzy for me.
I’m loving the Kate Bush vibes of this… Heeeathcliff, it’s me, it’s Cathy, I’ve come hoooome, I’m soooo cold, let me in your windooooow
I love that song so much.
I like BB’s dress, but the shoes make it a fail for me. She mentions how hard it was to walk in that dress. Someone should explain that wearing shoes with several of your toes hanging over the edge doesn’t make it easier.
Stylists know what size they’re clients feet are … how hard can it be to source ones that actually fit?
Oh Mandy…. Why the black hair?
I was thinking it made her look striking, but on the other hand she doesn’t like like Mandy anymore and that’s not good. I absolutely love her on this dress though.
the dress is really amazing, with her usual blonde it would have been ok maybe, even if it’s a color too strong for her, she’s so soft… but the black hair… for me it’s a no. It’s not like she isn’t beautiful, she is! But the hair is so dark kind of add her 10 years, it looks like she had some botox gone wrong 🙁
Thank you Celebitchy! I watched the Emmy’s and loved the fashions. Your articles have been delightful this morning.
Same! It’s been SO LONG since we had a post like this!! I’m enjoying it!
Until seeing this pic, I wasn’t even aware there WAS a pencil skirt in all that tulle! That’s all I saw, even on an OLED TV: giant tulle skirt. And I agree about the hair: too dark and “solid”, needs some low lights to break up all the dark (doesn’t look natural to me).
SP dress…big nope. Hate the sleeves, the fabric, and the too-wide V neck. The dress seems to overwhelm/wear her. You notice the sleeves, not the woman in the dress.
BB looks like another pale pink princess/fairy. I expected her to pull out a wand and go: “Bibble-de-bobbedity-boop!”
I thought Mandy was Dakota Johnson when I first saw her arrive and I was so confused about why DJ would be at the Emmys
The same thing happened to me, it’s the bangs I think. And the dress looks like something Dakota would wear too.
I thought Beth was Cameron Diaz for a moment.
Red is definitely Mandi’s color.
I like Mandy’s. She looks good in red.
I feel like Carolina Herrera always looks good.
I like Mandy’s dress; it’s a great shade of red and the silhouette is interesting. Sarah’s gown looks like it’s going to swallow her whole, and I think the shiny crinkly material makes it look cheap. Beth’s gown is lovely, but it looks like a real pain in the you-know-what to wrangle.
Mandy looks amazing, I didn’t recognize her at first her eyes look different, maybe the bangs. She’s gorgeous in red.
