As we discussed, Scotland Yard has closed down their most recent inquiry into Prince Andrew. Months ago, Scotland Yard opened an inquiry, which should not be confused with an investigation. The inquiry was basically “should we investigate Prince Andrew’s connections to Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and their international human trafficking organization, especially given that one of the trafficking victims says that Andrew raped her in London?” And the answer the Yard came up with was a definitive “Nope.” Sources close to Andrew couldn’t help themselves, and of course they briefed the press:
A source close to the duke told PA Media it had “come as no surprise” the Met had decided to drop its probe. They added: “Despite pressure from the media and claims of new evidence, the Met have concluded that the claims are not sufficient to warrant any further investigation. The duke has always vigorously maintained his innocence and continues to do so.”
Andrew is acting like he won. Which is pretty gross. I would guess that it comes as no surprise to Andrew because he and mummy made all of the necessary calls to ensure that there would be no investigation. That being said, I don’t know if anyone was seriously expecting Scotland Yard to investigate. Still, it looks bad. It’s so bad that retired Scotland Yard officials are going on the record about how bad all of this looks, and they’re calling for an independent investigation into Andrew’s crimes and his ties to Epstein and human trafficking.
Dai Davies says another force must now carry out an independent probe. Met Police officers spoke to Virginia Giuffre, who claims the Duke of York sexually assaulted her in London when she was 17. She says she was trafficked by paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial for underage sex trafficking.
But Scotland Yard decided to take no further action in the case, and refused to probe allegations Epstein had abused other young women in Britain.
Mr Davies, who headed the royal protection unit, said the decision was very premature, with Prince Andrew subject to a civil claim in a US court and his former friend Ghislaine Maxwell – Epstein’s lover – awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Mr Davies said: “There are far more questions than answers here. What have they reviewed, what have they investigated?”
Referring to Met boss Cressida Dick, he added: “What did the commissioner ask? So far she has proved herself totally incapable of making operational decisions so there is a strong case for an outside force to be brought in to independently assess all this information.”
The Met and Dame Cressida have been under fire in the wake of Sarah Everard’s murder by a serving officer amid claims of a culture of misogyny. Mr Davies added: “Given the Met’s reputation and inability to keep their own house in order, what trust should the public have in them to investigate a member of the Royal Family? It is still unknown whether the Met has interviewed a catalogue of potential witnesses including Andrew’s former police protection officers, members of the Royal Household staff and key people associated with Epstein and Maxwell.”
The Brits love their independent investigations – Operation Paget looked into the circumstances around Princess Diana’s death, Operation Weeting looked into the phone hacking scandal, the Dyson Report was part of the investigation into Diana’s interview with Martin Bashir, and on and on. Why not do one of those kinds of not-really-independent investigations into Andrew, Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and the human trafficking organization and coverup? I’m merely asking questions.

People in the UK should be FURIOUS at this – because eventually it will come out that Petty Betty pulled strings to save her little rapist son. #AbolishTheMonarchy
Yep. Instead we’re supposed to be angry about how many bathrooms Harry and Meghan have.
And that Lili may not be christened in the UK.
People in the UK do see right through it. Most people believe Andrew is not just guilty, but also a coward for hiding behind his mother.
We have these independent enquiries because the public know that establishments, such as the police, will cover for each other. So then an independent enquiry happens to appease people, even though the public also know they’re usually not actually independent and unbiased. At that point, the public is at a loss. They’re at the mercy of those in power, just like in any other country. I mean democracy is nothing but an illusion in reality.
IMO an independent inquiry” in UK would not bring out any new information on the sex trafficking ring or the players in it. PA’s already been investigated by FBI and would likely be apprehended if he went to USA (or even France, I’ve heard). Yes, they’re all scum who deserve to rot in jail – but I don’t believe an inquiry like the one described here will serve any purpose.
It’s actually maddening that the Royal family are able to commit so many crimes and none of them are held accountable. Though, I do appreciate those that are no longer at SY to come out publicly and denounce Dame Dick and her utter incompetence. That must burn her bum, a little.
PA will maintain his lifestyle but will be placed somewhere out of the public’s view.
When I was a kid, I read nonstop, and English authors were always my favorites. I used to hold Scotland Yard in the highest esteem. I am honestly shocked that this is what has become of the institution, protection of rapists and con artists.
I know it’s stupid, but this actually depresses me. It makes me think that law enforcement was never and will never be fair in any way. The common folk don’t stand a chance.
They are. Many of them.
At this point the monarchy isn’t going anywhere. It’s just not. And he’s not in line to be the top dog anyhow.
They’ll shut him up somewhere quiet and he’ll live his life out comfortably with everything he could possibly want. He won’t see a day in jail and the young woman accusing him will ,sadly, never officially get her day in court with him. At most, they’ll settle out of court.
Thats just how it’s gonna go.
Because these people were Democrats, a lot of people will make it political.
Let’s go after all the Republican pedos as well.
I mean in principle yes, of course they should.
In practice how ‘independent’ would it be and would the establishment really allow TQ’s son to be exposed like this? Not while the tories hold the power at any rate. As has already been stated above, #abolishthemonarchy
LOL you know why..
According to Omid Scobie’s Twitter, the Met police did not interview Virginia Giuffre. I’m curious as to how they do investigate crimes if they do not speak with alleged victims.
But how can there be an investigation ?
It is a she said/he said thing unless they interview Maxwell who will not talk to them as she is locked up in New York and she not going to give another jurisdiction the evidence to also lock her up
You think there isn’t evidence? It would never have gotten this far without it. It is not a he said/she said situation with this much money involved and a man like Epstein.
The point is Epstein is dead so it is a she/he thng .And Maxwell is going to say nothing at the minute as she is on trial next month
So it is her saying he did it and him denying it
And the reason the Mirror is involved is they really want their pensions that her dad and brothers spent
Well, first off, they could pull all the records for Andrew’s RPOs and compare his comings and goings with what he said (was he ever on epstein’s island for example). They could talk to other victims of Epstein’s to see if any can corroborate Virginia’s story. They could at least ask to talk to Ghislaine – she doesn’t have a lot to lose at this point -they could follow some of Andrew’s financial dealings and how they connect to epstein, etc.
This idea that “he’s dead so there is nothing else to be done” is EXACTLY why Andrew and the Queen were smirking and gloating in the car to church the day after Epstein died. They were counting on most people just thinking that was the end of it.
Really? “He said/she said”??? It implies that “he said he didn’t” is more believable. This is the language of rape culture.
You are aware that paper trails, physical and electronic, exist, right? They didn’t just vapourize with Epstein’s death and more people than Maxwell are involved? That there is very likely a hideous mountain of stuff that hasn’t been made public? And that the “she” involved was a MINOR? Gross. No.
Lol. Epstein was into blackmail. You think records weren’t kept, notes and videos weren’t filed? This was his BUSINESS. Death doesn’t disintegrate computer hard drives or erase financial transactions.
A lot of trials are “he said/she said” — and then it comes down to credibility. But if they’re not even going to speak to the victim, how can they say she is not credible?
There should absolutely be an independent investigation! But there won’t be. The Queen will see to that.
Thr ironic thing is there’s plenty to investigate about Andrew. His dodgy dealings in the middle east for example. But because all of his shady deals had connections to the establishment he will never face consequences.
This! There are just so many crimes – pick one!
Yes, absolutely yes. This time, they may actually want to interview those involved…
There will be never an enquiry into this because it involves the British establishment.
Exactly. If you really start investigating, who knows how many prominent people outside the royal family will turn out to have been involved in similar behavior? It’s the same reason it was such an uphill battle for any cases to move forward in the US.
I remember when the Jimmy Saville situation came to light in the UK. It was amazing how many powerful people protected him because they’re all corrupt in some way and have something on each other. It only came to light after he was dead because then he couldn’t show his hand. Which makes you wonder what else is hidden. Jimmy Saville’s case was clearly a huge web and I’d bet the same is true of Andrew.
Bingo. They can’t investigate Andrew without putting the whole house of cards in jeopardy. There was never going to be a real investigation or inquiry or whatever.
But, I am glad that someone is coming out and saying it was a sham.
It won’t be investigated until mummy falls off her perch, but it’s doubtful this will see the light of day again. The BRF is in cahoots with the Tory establishment so nothing will happen unless there’s a change of gov’t or Charles decides to go after Andrew. My guess is he’ll quietly shuffle him and his gross grifter ex-wife off to exile in some royal pile never to be seen again.
I read somewhere that some people expect PA to have an “accident” or “heart attack” after TQ dies and is no longer there to protect him. PA’s has caused too much grief to both the aristos and the BRF and won’t be missed.
If not an independent investigation let there at least be some Netflix mini series, please!
My kingdom for a manacled perp walk…
There should be one but there won’t be one. The institution has damned itself by it’s own actions. Prince A allowed to hide behind mummy’s skirts, “climbing the walls” in his 30-roomed mansion – poor f*cking you.
The firm might weather the storm pro temp but the jig is up in the long run. After Brenda dies, Charles will keep the seat warm for Fredo who is ill-educated, impetuous, probably authoritarian and all together unsuited to the role of constitutional monarch.
One of the UK’s many problems is that our politicians do not fear us – the people. The UK government has stripped the poorest families in the country of a paltry £20 a week. A paltry amount that means the difference between going to school hungry or fed.
William has aligned himself the right-wing gate-keepers in the media, and people are noticing.
By all means, do an independent investigation on the rapist. He needs to have the screws put into him so he will spill the beans on the entire corrupt Windsor clan.
Things will get nastier for Andrew once civil case and G Maxwell get properly started. What if Ghislaine cuts a plea bargain in exchange for spilling all the tea in every direction? It is NOT over yet and the Paedo formerly known as Prince could find himself washing up at Woking Pizza express to pay his legal bills!
If Ghislaine does that, there’s a real possibility she will have an “accident” or “suicide.”
Novara Media have some great analysis On YouTube about Prince Andrew and Epstein. (Just sharing in case anyone wants to learn more without having to go to The Daily Mirror).
I admire Virginia Giuffre for taking him to court. It’s meant he can’t just hide from his criminal behaviour. I’m sure there’s other victims too that we don’t about. I hope the court rules in her favour and that helps her heal.
Maybe they need to wait until the queen dies, so she can’t step in and protect him? All she would have to say is that Andrew was acting as her emissary when the (alleged) crimes took place, and he would get immunity.
Although, there’s a chance that Charles might continue to block any investigation. I know people say Charles dislikes his brother, but there’s the bigger issue at stake — opening the royal family members’ financial schemes to investigators, and Charles would surely be against that.
I guess I’ll try to be fair to Cressida: what’s the point in trying to prosecute this? The Queen will squash it and nothing is going to happen, and meanwhile Cressida ruins her entire life and career for trying.
Same with an independent investigation: go ahead and investigate, but what the hell good is going to get done?
