Florence Pugh is part of the new crop of A-list Gen Zers since starring in Little Women in 2019. And after upstaging Scarlett Johansson in Black Widow (she is also the new Black Widow after Scarlett’s exit), Florence has practically become a household name. It seems the brighter Florence’s star shined the more inclined she is to make drastic fashion changes. In October, Florence got a new dark brown pixie-ish hair cut. She had done away with her signature long blonde locks for a more modern do. Wanting to do more “adult stuff,” Florence decided to get her septum pierced recently. Over the weekend, Florence shared the story behind her new septum piercing. Florence shared a few snaps of her new septum ring including one with a needle pierced through. She wrote on Instagram that she fainted halfway through the piercing. Fortunately for Florence her bestie Zoe Lister-Jones came to the rescue with a lollipop to help raise her blood sugar. “When you wanna be a cool grown up and get a cool new piercing and you instantly fail, go green and then faint,” Pugh wrote alongside the post.
She then explained that friend Zoe Lister-Jones came to her rescue after the mishap. “Praise the piercing heavens for my trusty @zoelisterjones to have a handy lollipop to make me feel better. FAAAAAANKS,” she said.
Pugh also shared a quick “warning” at the bottom of her caption, noting that the “last slide,” which features her with a needle through her nose, “will make your stomach scream.”
Pugh’s new piercing comes about after the Black Widow star said goodbye to her long locks in late October.
I am pain adverse but I still make crazy choices like getting my nostril pierced in the middle of Penang, Malaysia and that was painful enough for me for years to come. I am not sure if I could handle having my septum pierced. I probably would have fainted just like Florence. Florence is every woman. We tend to either change our hair (cut, color, style) when we are stressed out or when something drastic has changed in our lives or get a tattoo or a piercing. So far Florence has done two out of the three. I won’t be surprised if I wake up some day this week and Florence is showing off a new tattoo on the Gram. I liked Florence’s new haircut. I honestly think her septum piercing is quite delicate (considering) and I don’t really like septum piercings. I was also once a surgical tech for ten years so seeing the needle piercing her septum in the last picture did not make me queasy. I was quite fascinated with the process she had to go through to get to that point (weird I know, but I’m a blerd). Anyways, I hope Florence stops while she’s ahead. I do not want to wake up to Florence showing off a unicorn tattoo (I actually want one) in an awkward area.

Love her so much, check out lady Macbeth if you’ve not seen it she is stunning in it. She is one of the few actors that would make me watch a film I’d not previously considered.

I will never understand having your septum pierced, ever. Besides the inconvenience, it just plain looks ugly and can lead to many health problems.
She was amazing in the movie Midsommer. I was blown away by her performance.
I think the piercing really suits her.
Worst pain I ever experienced was accidentally hitting off the bar of the septum piercing I had gotten earlier that day.
I took it out after a year or so and this was probably almost 8 ago and I still shudder at the thought of that pain as I hit my off it that first night… it was excruciating.
I think she’s the cutest thing. I really hope she finds something fresher than that fusty middle aged man she’s dating though.
I have multiple piercings and my septum was without a doubt one of the most painful ones I have ever had done.
I pierced my own septum with a kilt pin when I was 16. I definitely got some cold sweats and shaky hands in the midst of it but it went suprisingly well and healed with no problems as well. I would say that getting my nipples pierced was worse. I left my nipple piercings to a professional though.
My daughter has both of the piercings you mentioned; she said the septal piercing made her eyes tear, but that the actual septum itself wan’t pierced- rather, the very thin strip of tissue between the cartilage septum and the center column of the nose is what was punctured.
She’s ‘trying’ to be an adult and do adult things. That’s normal for her age group and good for her for exploring.
That leads me to, WTF is Braff doing dating her. Miss me with all this ‘mature for her age’ ‘such a match’ bs when this is her social media. She’s fine just the way she is, it just makes the difference even starker.
All I can think about after seeing those pictures is her trying to maneuver that turtleneck over her head with the needle in her nose and feeling faint and icky on top of all that! Why do I focus on the weird things?
Is that piercing a job requirement for being Black Widow? ScarJo has sported the same piercing for several years.
She’s quite a talent and seems so sincere and lovely when she would have her IG cooking “show” during the early aughts of the pandemic. This new look is so severe. She’s still so pretty but it’s too dark and looks forced.
