If you ever want to laugh, try explaining to your mother who Grimes is and what she does. My explanation was basically: “She’s a singer but she thinks she’s a fairy and an elf, she used to be a socialist but then she started seeing the richest man in the world and now they have two children together but they broke up again and she’s in her 30s.” I think that’s a good summary? That’s basically where we were on Friday – Grimes had confirmed on Twitter that she and Elon Musk had broken up again, just months after welcoming their second child via surrogacy. Then Gawker had a mysterious blind item about Grimes moving on with someone else, and then Page Six dropped this story. Apparently, Grimes is now with Chelsea Manning, the hacker who leaked reams of highly classified documents to Wikileaks in 2010. Chelsea served seven years in the brig and then prison, and her sentence was commuted (by Obama) in early 2017. Apparently, Grimes and Chelsea are already living together in Austin?
Grimes is dating infamous leaker Chelsea Manning after her relationship with Elon Musk ended for the second time, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
“They’re getting serious. They U-Hauled it,” a source tells us of the fast-paced nature of their relationship. “They’ve been living together in Austin.”
Our source also says Manning still has her apartment in Brooklyn. Neither Manning nor reps for Grimes immediately returned Page Six’s requests for comment. The pair have been interacting on Twitter in recent months, with certain messages hinting at their relationship.
In one exchange, Grimes, 33, explained why she had not yet appeared on a user’s Twitch stream, tweeting that she had not been “in LA” but felt “bad for postponing like 10 times.” In response, Manning tweeted, “vouch.”
And in December, Grimes tweeted, “Celebrity culture is suffocating a f. I’m not quitting music, but def changing my main day job after BOOK 1. Music industry feels old and tired, reliant on archaic systems.” When Manning once again replied, “vouch,” Grimes responded to her, “Since I seem to be taking ur word as final these days.”
Manning, 34, also has “liked” multiple tweets having to do with Grimes, including the announcement of the singer’s Vanity Fair cover story, in which she revealed she secretly welcomed a second child via surrogate, a girl named Exa Dark Sideræl, with the Tesla founder, 50, in December.
It seems a bit bonkers to me but whatever, I wish them well, I guess. This doesn’t seem like it was built to last, but I’m sure I’m just saying that because I’m so bourgeois and I have such a conventional view of relationships, especially when children are involved. But seriously, Grimes is now taking care of two young children with little-to-no help from their father, and she jumped into a relationship with a notorious hacker two seconds after meeting her? They’re already living together! Come on, this is messy.

Call me old and boring, I have accepted this about myself.
Drama, drama, constant chaos, switching partners, moving towns, 2 children under 3 years old, etc.
Creative beings are wired differently than me.
Elon Musk, IMO, should get “the snip”. He now has 6? 7? children.
At 50, will he live to see them graduate high school?
I watched a bio doc on him a few years back, apparently Elon is one of those god-complex guys who believes he is so gifted genetically he should have as many children as possible to pass down his supreme genes as much as he can for the benefit of humanity. And justifies that he can because he’s so rich.

Definitely messy. I’m no “you have to stay together for the kids” advocate but FFS you do owe them an effort at calm and stability.
This, so much. Do what you want when it’s just you or you and (an) adult partner(s), but once kids enter the picture, you need to do what’s best for them, full stop. Elon is not going to be that person as he’s demonstrated with his other multitude of children, so Claire needs to step up and she’s not. These people all seem to think this is a giant game. Even the “secret reveal” nature of the existence of the second child is just appallingly juvenile.
Are these just people with creative eccentricities or is it mental illness?

Same! When I watched her Harper’s BAZAAR video about her diet, I was struggling to understand how this was the same woman who went public with Elon at the Met Gala 2018. Her face never looks the same every time I see.

Apologies for being pedantic, but Chelsea Manning was/is not a hacker – she released/blew the whistle on various classified and unclassified documents and videos that she had access to due to her government clearance as part of her Army job.
That being said, what an odd pairing! Though I suppose no more unexpected than Grimes and Musk??

Grimes first album is brilliant. And her second album is on rotate. She’s been around forever and I find it sad that Elon is what she’s known for.

Omg I was explaining this to my mom yesterday as she read something about it and was asking me if I knew who Grimes was and that she was now dating a woman, she didn’t know it was Chelsea Manning though, just thought it was a random lady. Seems messy. I hope the kids have some stable Nannies around them because the adults don’t seem like adults to me.

All I can think of is those poor kids. She’s already stated she doesn’t identify with being called a mother, that she finds it “distasteful”. I may get dragged for saying this but people like her are so self-obsessed and caught up in their own performative sh*t that they shouldn’t have kids.
