After Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s surprise, last-minute wedding in Las Vegas, they both returned to Los Angeles and continued working. Ben is currently in post-production (?) on the untitled Nike movie, where Matt Damon plays Sonny Vaccaro and Ben plays Nike co-founder Phil Knight. Ben directed it, and while IMDB has it listed as “in post-production,” I think they’re still doing some exterior filming. Imagine stepping away for a weekend to elope in Vegas while you’re directing a movie! Anyway, Ben did manage to find time to go on a mini-honeymoon with Jennifer Lopez. They arrived in Paris yesterday.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are celebrating being officially husband and wife in the city of love –– Paris, France! Dinner guests at Le Matignon Restaurant were surprised to discover the newlyweds arriving for dinner on Thursday night.
The couple arrived at Le Bourget airport by private plane just hours earlier, a source tells PEOPLE. The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer and Argo director wasted no time stepping out to kick off their post-nuptial celebration.
Hitting the restaurant near the Champs-Élysées, the world’s most celebrated newlyweds held hands while asking for a table on the outside terrace. “They just showed up,” one surprised eyewitness tells PEOPLE. “He looked like a typical American except he had on a jacket and tie in this heat.”
Lopez, 52, looked radiant in a gorgeous red dress, wearing her hair in a loose updo with face-framing layers while keeping her glam fresh and natural. The couple stayed approximately two hours at the upscale restaurant and dance club before heading back to their hotel on a romantic nighttime drive.
I appreciate that the eyewitness mentioned the heat. Ben was probably sweaty and dying for a cigarette. But he still did it to make his WIFE happy – she wanted to go to Paris for a mini-honeymoon and so he obliged, at least that’s how it reads to me. Imagine choosing to fly into the European heat wave though… yikes!

All this hugging and kissing and hanging on him in public , is this for the camera, for the PR, for the magazine covers she hopes to get from this? She’s a business woman and knows she needs to stay in the public eye to stay relevant. I have no beef with this. She has to do what she has to do. But to use their kids and her new husband as props is a bit unclassy, needy and embarrassing.
Did they have any kids with them? Somewhere yesterday it was mentioned two of their daughters were there too. I thought that might be a fun surprise trip for them, plus sharing the honeymoon.
Seraphina, Emme, and Violet are def with them. There are pictures of Seraphina and Emme holding hands! I think it’s so cute that they get along so well.

There are three daughters with them, I guess People didn’t know or they wouldn’t have said they went back to their hotel on a romantic nighttime drive. Not with three kids is it romantic. Isn’t her birthday coming up? I would think she’d want a big cruise like they did last year. Actually I think her cruise last year was planned as her honeymoon with ARod and they both wanted to still go and she was already with Ben by then.

I am kind of glad they had a very simple Las Vegas style wedding. Big fancy weddings are so stressful especially for Ben. Maybe they should’ve flown to a more northern city where the heat is not so intense.
I’ve only spent a couple months in France but always always always dressed for dinner. Maybe a French celebitchy can help. If you want to be looked down upon as an ugly American you could go casual.
It was crazy hot on Monday and Tuesday (39/41 celcius degrees) but the temperature has significantly dropped down – it’s 24 today, cloudy with some rain here and there. Ben will not sweat his a** off.
Interesting to see Violet there and looking so happy after those weird Page Six sources tried to create drama there.

It was allegedly reported that he lunged at Chris Messina on set. This seems to be alot for Ben right now…directing & acting in a movie, planning wedding celebrations, & trying to co-parent, all while maintaining his sobriety…I wish him well…

I think Ben’s movie is titled “New Model” based on what I’ve seen some crew members post on IG. Anyways, I was delighted to see that they took some of their kids on vacation. They both have been busy this summer and I don’t think the kids had gone on any trips yet since school ended. It’s JLo’s birthday weekend and then she has a performance in Capri, Italy. I hope they all have a fun time. Hopefully the extra attention from fans and paparazzi isn’t too much.

I kinda wonder if JLo is equipped to deal with an alcoholic. Jennifer Garner mentioned that she hadn’t been and she’d wished she’d been more prepared. It’s easy to fall in love with someone when they’re sober. It’s a lot harder to maintain a good relationship when they’re not, and that’s always a possibility with someone who has had chronic sobriety issues.

I’m a grownup and I know life is complicated, but they just seem so self involved to conduct their relationship like this. (And I LOVE a mature love story, but nothing about this feels mature.)
In my early 20s my mom and dad divorced and my mom married her high school sweetheart. Awww, great, lovey dovey story, blah blah blah. Except she kept saying things such as “its like we were never apart! No time has passed at all” and I’m like hello, excuse me, that “no time at all” is my entire life!!! For a couple of months that really hurt my feelings and I was a dang adult, I can’t imagine being a child hearing things like that.
