Prince Louis of Wales turned five years old on Sunday, April 23rd. For some reason, I always forget that he has an April birthday – it feels like he has a May birthday, alongside his sister Charlotte. Charlotte and Louis have the same sign, are Tauruses. Prince George is a Cancer (just on the cusp of Leo), and Prince William is a Gemini, just on the cusp of Cancer. Sorry for that zodiac conversation, I only just realized that both Charlotte and Louis fell under the sign of Taurus. There’s a lot going on in that family astrologically. Kate is a Capricorn. I’d love a deeper dive into how their signs play out within the family.
Anyway, to celebrate Louis’s birthday, Kensington Palace released new birthday portraits. Traditionally, the Princess of Wales takes her kids’ birthday photos herself and the pics are usually okay – Kate’s not a great photographer, but I don’t judge her for wanting to do her kids’ photos herself. This year, however, Kate hired photographer Millie Pilkington to do Louis’s photos. I looked at Pilkington’s Instagram – she mainly does portraits of kids and domestic settings. I’m surprised that Kate branched out like this – usually, if she hires a photographer, it’s one of the Rota photographers with some connection to her office. I wonder if she simply heard about Pilkington or looked through the woman’s Instagram.
I also find it strange that Kate is in one of Louis’s birthday photos. I wonder what that’s about? Why do we need to see her wiglet again?? I can f–king see it too. In any case, Louis looks cute. I’ve always thought that all three kids take after the Middleton side of the family more than the Windsor side, but Louis is the one who got Kate’s whole face.

Sun signs are not who people are and astrology, real astrology, is so different from newspaper signs. Who we are intimately would be Moon, Venus, for men, Mars, their placement by sign and house and any affliction to any of them. Who we are in society is our Ascendant and again, its ruler by sign and house, afflictions to it etc. It’s not an easy thing.

Will is a Cancer sun/Cancer moon/Sagittarius rising. No Mars in Aries (his is in Libra), but he does have Jupiter in Scorpio, and since Jupiter rules his chart (bc it rules Sagittarius, his rising sign), those Scorpio aspects of his personality are pretty pronounced in his personality. If anything, his chart suggests he’s extremely emotional and impulsive, but also prefers to be pretty indirect (and potentially manipulative) about how he approaches conflict.

She wanted to be in the pic because the Press was saying that her amateur photography was taking away opportunity from talent photographers who could use good promotion by taking pics of her kids instead of her, which is not contributing. to me its just about Kate needing to center herself in these kinds of pictures at all times. If she’s not taking the picture and getting over the top praise for that, then she’s damn well going to be in it.

At Christina. I knew there was an angle. I’m looking at this picture and couldn’t believe she let Louis take a picture in dirt.
Most parents who actually have to clean their kids and not send them to the nanny would never have their kid sit in a pile of grass and weeds. That likely stains the shorts too. But she’s wearing a pristine white striped sweater so it’s clear she’s never done yard work in her life.
This also came across as “advertising” that she has a good bond (and is therefore a good mother) with Louis after the Jubbly to me.
I find it funny that the papers barely made a beep about this or Kate and William for that matter. The papers must be really pissed with them.
Louis was just seen in the Easter parade also. It’s not so exciting to get photos of the Wales children because they are put out so often.
It’s a lovely picture and Louis looks suitably cute and very happy in the wheelbarrow. No matter what I think about their parents I genuinely wish the three Wales children well. Knowing all we do about the wider royal family and what that institution does to those embroiled in the system they will not all fare well as they grow up and that is just very sad.

Unless you’re a fellow water sign or an earth sign (or have a prominent water/earth placement in your big 3), Cancers can be quite frustrating honestly. They’re known for being caring homebodies, sure, but on the flip side, Cancers can also be extremely passive aggressive and terrible at communicating calmly when there is a conflict, and yet they hold onto grudges for years over the smallest slights (but often won’t communicate clearly why or what upset them in the first place). Even with a water moon, as a fire sign sun and mars, I personally find it can be aggravating to deal with Cancers for these reasons, and their perpetual “I’m the victim” status gets draining over time.
As a fellow Gemini, I second this. We have voted William off our chart.
Agree, cusps aren’t real. I was born on the Cancer/Leo cusp and was told growing up that it meant both were my sun sign. Fast forward years later, I work with a real astrologer, and they say cusps aren’t real, I’m just a Leo sun, but because I have a Scorpio moon, that was probably the water influence that relatives picked up on when I was a kid.
Birth times are always crucial factors in astrology charts. Just a minute over or under will land you in a preceding or following sign. I’m also a Scorpio moon with my rising sign in Leo and birth sign Taurus so l find I’m all over the map when it comes to emotions and personality.

“Cusps aren’t real” LOL. Most astrologers I know believe that at the end of a sign, the influence of the next is bleeding in. At the beginning of a sign, the power of the new sign is at its height, and the previous sign is no longer influential.

I’m the same way! I grew up in the Northeast U.S. and it’s tick central and that was my very first thought… What if there’s ticks in there?? Because I can tell you that if I sat on a pile of freshly cut grass/weeds/whatever from the yard, I would have several ticks within what feels like minutes.
I’m sure those are hand-picked, prime leaves, sourced from the finest forests occupied only by the purest animals with the most delicate, dainty furs inhospitable to ticks or other parasites, and used as high-class rugs in the artistocratickest of homes.

The weeds thing has me scratching my head as well. I’m a gardener and have worked on my grandparents farm when they had it in the garden and no one was ever allowed in the weed filled wheel barrow because of bugs, thorns, It’s an odd choice, but again, as @ThatsNotOkay said, they were likely aristocratic, artisianal weeds.
It’s also just a weird setup, for the photo only. A kid is more likely to want a ride in an empty wheelbarrow, not one that’s full of clippings. It’s not remotely the same as jumping on a pile of leaves.

I always have a sad feeling whenever I see these kids. They’re just little right now, and soon they’re going to be ruined. I know that’s a horrible word and maybe not the right one… but they’re being raised by horrible people with no interest in changing the destructive family patterns that have bred dysfunction into this family for generations. They’re just little kids and I wish someone would advocate for them like Diana or Harry would have, but instead they’re going to be props and basically “Upvote” reddit buttons for as long as their parents can get away with it. I didn’t look at her IG but there are plenty of photographers in my area who make a lot of money taking this style of picture and it doesn’t strike me as especially talented. That’s been the thing with Kate – she’s a perfectly fine mom-tographer, to borrow the phrase used in my area. She has little to no official training, no professional photography courses in her resume, etc. A good camera with a good lens can make a big difference in terms of quality of the picture.
I’m not super technical when it comes to photography or super knowledgeable, but these photos just seem super basic to me, professional photog or not.
No doubt she was ordering the photographer around and had final say over the pic released. This is a bland, basic photo, just like the ones Kate takes. That’s why she’d direct the photo to be so basic, either because
1) she’s just so basic she has no aesthetic sense and/or
2) she doesn’t want anyone to compare a good photo taken by someone else to her bad photos, so she ensures the photos by someone else are just as bad and basic as hers
I thought the same thing after doing a quick scroll through her IG, Kate must’ve been copying that style, or it’s a style the posh folk like. Closeup of face, blurry background. Pretty blah set of photos.
As for Louis, he’s a cutie. I’d like to see him in clothes he picked out for himself–which I always prefer to see on any kid. I wonder if his entire closet is nothing but blue?
RE Millie Pilkington: She was the photographer for W&K’s private wedding photos (Hugo Burnand was the official one) and one of the photographers for Pippa’s wedding. So Kate has been familiar with her for over a decade.
And he looks cute (as usual). I find it nice to have Kate in them instead of her taking them (not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just a good change).
And before that she took photos for Party Pieces. Very much the Middleton orbit
Yes, she’s a Midd insider who took all the photos for PP while Kate was claiming to do the work herself. All the PP pics were credited to Millie not Kate. In exchange for keeping her mouth shut, she was hired to do the private wedding photos to help launch her wedding photo business. They also let her (instructed her to) give her insider, ‘oh they’re so in love’ interview to press outlets after the wedding.
Interesting she’s being brought back in now that PP is publicly failing. Maybe they needed to give her one last payday to ensure she keeps her mouth shut in the future.

Louis looks cute. Unfortunately for the Waleses, releasing picture of the kids is just not going to generate the PR that it did a few years ago. At a minimum we’re seeing the kids 4-5 times a year (first day of school, christmas, easter, and then events like the Trooping, Jubbly, funerals, now the Chubbly, and then usually sporting events or the like as well.) So we do see the kids a great deal over the course of the year so these pictures just aren’t as interesting as they used to be. And that’s a problem for W&K because they need the kids to be interesting for their own PR.
My guess is Kate watched Harry and Meghan’s docuseries. She didn’t need to be in the photo. It’s interesting Louis’ photo was on the front page of only 2 papers.

The struggle is real.
I’m not going to give her grief about the wiglet. For any number of reasons (stress, hormones, severe weight loss, autoimmune issues), she might have lost a significant amount of hair somewhere. With all of her resources, I don’t understand why she doesn’t have something that blends better but whatever. Hair loss can be pretty devastating.

The issue isn’t that she wears extensions. Lots of people do. The issue is the quality. Someone with her resources should have more quality pieces that are properly blended and installed.

looks cute! good pics too. can tell it was done by a professional. not mad about Kate being in it. probs just a combination of it being a good photo out of the bunch and shows a spontaneous nature of it. she’s blurry and in the background of the shot…a nod that she’s there but not center.

Am I the only one seeing the copykeening? Most of the photos of the Sussex children are action shots that have one or both of their parents actively participating/bonding in whatever the child is doing.
In the photo of Louis, it looks like they are trying to do an action shot (while he’s dressed like a boy from the ‘50s???) and Kate is trying to look like she is engaged with Louis (and yet looks so dang awkward like she just met this child).
But maybe I’m overthinking this.

Louis is the “spittin image” of Michael Middleton.
He’s definitely Kate’s coloring. But I see a little bit of William- the closer-set Mountbatten eyes, and his lips curl similarly like William’s smile.
My mother has the same birthday as Charlotte. If there is any carry-over, the royal family is in for a ride! My mom is all Taurus stubborn and a natural-born leader who everyone turns to for help because she knows how to take care of business. And from what we can see, Charlotte definitely has lots of spirit and sass. I can picture 20 years from now people saying that Charlotte is the one who really has the makings of a monarch.

Only north european and russia have that trait. I know many american have because of mixed gene pool. This is kate her family is not mixed that we know off. I dont usually believed that kate dye these kids but now looking at his photo that’s clear the case. This island never has sun. Even if they got their vitamin d from those tropical island vacation only sun manage to get into their hair and rest of their skin looks pale and stale.

Kate has a very specific idea of how she needs to look. Every woman is entitled to her own aesthetic, but I sort of wish she would grow out of her college look instead of clinging to it.
Also, I don’t want to pile on but William is a Cancer, not a Gemini. This explains their on-and-off dynamic during their dating years. Cancer never fully lets go.
