The Victoria’s Secret show was last night in New York, and CB asked me to cover it. I’m not really sure why VS shows are that big of a deal, but I guess “models in panties and wings” is some kind of huge deal. The biggest name on the runway was Heidi Klum, of course, who looked stunning, and was perhaps the most covered up. Heidi told Page Six that she didn’t offer the younger girls any advice, saying “I didn’t have to tell them anything. To be honest, they all seem cooler than I was my first time, so they’re fine.” Since there are a lot of pictures to get through, I’m just going to make some notes of some the most extreme highlights and lowlights (additional photos in the gallery). First, Heidi, looking cute:
Now, for Fergie, who performed with the Black Eyed Peas. This is a bad picture of her, but it’s nice to see a girl on the VS runway with nice, thick thighs. I kind of think Fergie was one of the prettiest girls on the stage:
Next, Chanel Iman, who is dangerously thin in my opinion. If you look like this from behind, I don’t want your body.
Another too-thin girl was Miranda Kerr. Why does VS hire girls with zero hips? It’s like strutting a 12-year-old boy down the runway in panties.
I love Doutzen Kroes. She’s got such an amazing, athletic, healthy figure. And that face! God, she’s gorgeous. I love her.
All in all, it was a good night for Victoria’s Secret. The show will air on CBS on December 1, and I’m sure it will bring in high ratings.

Miranda Kerr = Most overrated model today
Chanel Iman’s whole looks kinda disturbs me… She looks like a prepubescent 10 year old, she is way too thin to be an underwear model. Plus the stylist put her in undies from the teen department “Pink”… It’s like VS purposely cultivated the image of a really young girl in undies. Gross.
Chanel Iman is way, way to thin. Karl Lagerfeld must be proud.
Ah Heidi, I love you. She just birthed a baby a month ago! I watch that Project Runway follow-up Models of the Runway just so I can see Heidi chatting with the girls. She’s so funny and sweet.
I’m not liking Fergie’s outfit. She probably didn’t get to choose it, but it just doesn’t do her legs any favors, IMO.
I’m with you on the too thin girls, especially the first one that looks like a young teen. I’m not a huge Fergie fan but her legs were banging.

Glad to see some healthier looking models out there for a change. But I agree that those two are way too skinny.

I agree with u that many of the girls are too thin and thus not sexy. But fergie looks terrible!!!! So bad that I’m in shock!!! I assumed she had a much better bod. Just as too thin isn’t hot, too thick isn’t either- let’s just be honest

I wish we could’ve seen heidi’s legs. I bet they look really good a little bit thicker. fergie’s athletic figure makes me so happy, as does doutzen’s bangin’ booty.
I think it’s really important that ALL body types are projected in these VS shows. Curvy, athletic, average and, yes, skinny.
Some women are naturally incredibly skinny. My best friend has been a size 2 her whole life. She deserves better than to be called a prepubesent boy. She’s gorgeous and fantastic. It’s comments like this that make her ashamed to wear a bikini for fear of looking ‘too slim’. Or that makes her self concious that her cheast isn’t as big as other girls. That’s not right.
If we’re going to celebrate curves, we can also celebrate the serpentine body type which, in some woman, comes completely naturally and can be just as sexy as a Sophia Loren hourglass.
Jeez.

Well said, Peach! Many of us forget that not every skinny/slim person looks that way in an effort to join the ranks of the supermodels. Good for you in sticking up for your BFF 🙂
I agree with the statement about all body types. I think part of the problem though is that on a taller girl, that weight catches attention, and not in a good way. You can’t tell just from looking at her that she’s that thin naturally, or through unhealthy means. I also think it’s safe to say that people are more inclined to think a professional model is the latter, after hearing decades of models/actresses who have talked about various methods of staying skinnier then they were meant to be.
Canidce Swanepoel and Rosie Huntington-Whitley = 2 hottest victoria’s secrets models. And candice is toned and hell but definitely has hips.
Doutzen Kroes looks like a softer prettier Denise Richards.
Another amen to Peach here. I’ve been my share of awful to thin girls, sometimes because I was jealous, and they deserve better. Some girls really are just thin without being anorexic or unhealthy.
… I am not one of them, so I personally want to hug Fergie and Doutzen Krous and their thighs, because they look more like me, and it makes ME feel comfortable when someone in great shape and famous looks more like something I could obtain, if I, like Fergie Ferg says in Delicious, “be up in the gym just workin’ on my fitness” more often.
But, Miranda Kerr doesn’t look unhealthy to me – just thin. She’s got some bangin’ obliques there, and I have to give her props for being comfortable walking or standing in that teeny tiny strip of fabric. I would spend the whole time thinking, “My lady garden, it is seriously almost a public park.”

I like Miranda’s outfit the best. That is hot! Sure she could gain a few pounds and still look perfect,but I don’t think she looks unhealthy.
Chanel is only about 19 or 20 years old. She is really tall and long limbed (like most models) so I would say she she is probably okay.
IMO Fergie always looks rough. The picture of her walking is not flattering mainly because when you’re stomping around on stage trying to be fierce everything jiggles.
Also she needs to get a better fake bake. Looks like she needs to exfoliate and put a little lotion on beforehand.
Heidi looks great. I want to hate her so bad but I can’t. I love the peek of her underwear through her outfit. I’m not loving all the tulle or whatever it is. But she is perfection.
While I love Fergie’s and Doutzen’s thighs, I don’t see what the big deal about the other girls are.
Miranda’s thin, but at least her thighs are bigger than her calves, unlike Chanel.
When there’s no difference in width between someone’s thighs and their calves, that’s when I see a problem. Otherwise, who cares?

OMG, most of the girls looks so thin. Maybe that thin works for high fashion, but not for victoria secret. Beside the bad fashion, where are the curves and sexy bodies? Fergie was bar far the sexiest!

Thank you Peach! I’m a size 0-2 and I’ve been that way my whole life. I’ve never once worn a bikini, I don’t even like going to the beach. I have just as many body issues as someone who’s trying to lose weight. It’s one thing if the chick is clearly anorexic or is on drugs, but to bash all skinny chicks isn’t the answer either. Stop bashing any body types and start embracing them all!

They’re not super skinny … I bet they’re at a health weight. We are use to seeing fat people in America and don’t know what a normal size is!

I think Miranda’s adorable (I’m a sucker for dimples), but I think she’s gotten skinnier as she’s gotten more famous. She’d look so much nicer with some curves! Heidi looks amazing, I can’t believe the baby was only born 5 weeks ago!

The one and only knock out beautiful model here is Doutzen Kroes . Wow , look at her face. I have never seen a model looking this beautiful. Where did they find her? Absolute beauty.

I’m definitely loving Doutzen Kroes here. Healthy body with such a beautiful face. And Heidi is of course just being her sunny self. I like looking at the models bodies, but the clothes or lingerie are always hideous.
Only Chanel Iman, and Miranda looks nice…all the others have no body…only like a fat pig..shapeless body….Fergie? My Mother looks better…but she is 74….
The one major problem I have with this is the whole “where are the curves” thing. Some women are naturally NOT curvy. Curvy means having larger hips and not all woman naturally have that. It simply comes down to genetics. I’m not as thin as these girls (I’m 5’4″ and 125) but I also have small hips like Miranda Kerr. Your weight won’t change that. I could weigh 400 pounds and still not have big hips. It doesn’t make me any less of a woman, just like a dude with a smaller frame doesn’t make him any less of a man. Keep your body shaming remarks to yourself. Women don’t have to look a certain way for your approval.
