I kind of dig Ireland Baldwin. She’s just doing her own thing and being honest about it. I know she got a lot of flack for having her baby shower at a strip club, but I think it was fine and she wasn’t hurting anyone. I appreciate how she deals with social media and with people hating on her. Anyway Ireland had her baby! She welcomed her first baby, a girl she named Holland. She’s had the name picked out for months and said on the Girlboss Radio podcast this January that she wanted to name her daughter after a country and that “I love the actress Holland Taylor.” [via People] Here’s People’s writeup on Ireland and her boyfriend, producer RAC’s, new baby. I didn’t realize she was only 27, but she’s been famous for so long.
Ireland Baldwin is officially a mom!
The 27-year-old entrepreneur — daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger — has welcomed her first baby, a daughter named Holland, with boyfriend RAC (born André Allen Anjos), 38, she revealed on Instagram Thursday.
Sharing a photo from the hospital where she lays with her infant daughter in one arm, Baldwin smiles as RAC leans into them both…
The new mom received well wishes from famous friends, including Rumer Willis, who welcomed daughter Louetta Isley last month, who wrote, “Omg omg hi sweet girl 😍 we can’t wait to squeeze you 😍.”
“Happy birthday sweet angel holland,” Sailor Brinkley-Cook wrote, “I love you already. Omg.”
Holland is a super cute name and is unique without being stigmatizing. The bar is low for celebrity baby names. I didn’t realize that Ireland was friends with Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Rumer Willis, but that tracks. Holland will likely be friends with Rumer’s baby, Louetta, born late last month. A lot of outlets are pointing out that this is Alec Baldwin’s first grandchild. He’s 65 and has eight children including Ireland, seven of whom are with Hilaria Baldwin and are under the age of ten. I doubt little Holland is going to spend much time with her slightly older aunts and uncles. Ireland doesn’t seem close to her dad’s side of the family. Hilaria did comment on Ireland’s baby post with two hearts though. Anyway congratulations to Ireland and RAC!

OK, can we stop giving all the Baldwins attention?
I doubt it. There’s dozens of them and they’re all celebrities. Ireland’s not at fault for how obnoxious her father and his wife (I doubt Ireland considers her a step-mother) are, but they do provide a consistent stream of celebrity gossip.
Holland (holly for short?) is a cute name but since her name is Ireland it’s kinda cringe. Will the next be London or Paris? France works too. Kenya, Kyoto? Possible names endless.
This doesn’t bug me as much as the people who think all of their children need to have names that start with the same letter.

Only Holland isn’t a country. Sorry Ireland! Its a region within the Netherlands.
Either way, she’s got a name she loves and I wish them every happiness as a family.
