I am [redacted] years old and I still can’t really tell the Olsen twins apart. So this primer is for my benefit alone, I guess: Mary-Kate Olsen was the one married to Frenchman Olivier Sarkozy and the marriage ended in a big mess during the pandemic, in 2020, with MK filing for an emergency divorce petition and then escaping to the Hamptons. We still don’t know all of the dirty details about exactly what went on there. MK is also the one into equestrian events, correct? Yes. Meanwhile, Ashley tended to date guys her own age and she had several quiet, long-term relationships over the years. In January, we learned that Ashley had quietly married her boyfriend of six years, an artist named Louis Eisner. They technically got married in late December, but we only found out about it in the new year. Well, it turns out they were expecting their first child when they married.
Ashley Olsen is a mom! The fashion mogul, 37, and husband Louis Eisner, 34, welcomed their first baby together, a son named Otto. No additional details about the infant’s birth have been made public at this time.
Her reps have not responded to PEOPLE’S request for comment. TMZ first broke the news.
The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in December 2022, PEOPLE confirmed at the time.
The pair have been linked since October 2017, however, neither Olsen nor Eisner, an artist and the son of jewelry designer Lisa Eisner, have spoken about their relationship publicly and have kept a low profile through the years. In August 2018, the couple was photographed when they stepped out arm-in-arm for a stroll in Los Angeles.
Otto Eisner? Hm. It’s not bad, but it sounds like a family name is being repurposed. Dollars to donuts, Louis’s grandfather or great-uncle was named Otto. I also sort of love how no one knows if Ashley was pregnant or if they did surrogacy or gestational-carrier. Ashley and Mary-Kate can go months, even years, without being photographed. She hasn’t been on a red carpet or attended a fashion event since the 2021 CFDAs!! They are so discreet, so no one has any idea. Anyway, congrats to Ashley and Louis.

Having been tabloid fodder for so many years, the Olsen twins discuss NOTHING with the press. The press can say whatever they want, they’ll will never get a response. I really do admire that they were able to reclaim a semblance of a private life. The interest in them died down, they rarely make headlines, and they get to feel like human beings.

Congrats I guess. I don’t blame either for being practically hidden these days. They were pimped out since infancy. They managed to parlay that into very lucrative fashion careers. They’ve got fuck you money and can do whatever they want.
They were lucky to have been raised seriously,to have discipline and purpose,without malveolent parents or entourage thirsty for spotlight or willing to steal their great fortune.
This+Their access to F.U money as young adults allowed them to go under radar with better protection during meltdown periods ,when Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan or mischa Barton,or Amanda bynes were self destructing themselves or their carrer.
I think Ashley was the one who was hospitalized for anorexia ages ago. Anyway, congratulations to the couple.

If it wasnt for their constant chain smoking outside their office buildings,i doubt they would ever get photographed.
Supposedly that was how one of their fan accounts clued into the pregnancy (which is probably what got TMZ poking around): They/Ashley hadn’t been seen smoking in a very long time. The fan account started to speculate about pregnancy being the reason.

I really really like them by the way. I worked on their footwear line and they were really kind , engaging and respectful.. at least that was my experience.
I learned how to tell them apart a few years ago, lol. It’s something about their lips. Congrats to Ashley and Louis! Apparently she did give birth to the baby.
Mary Kate has a longer face. She also looks a little older.
Ashley has very wide doe eyes and a rounder face.

They’re apparently not even identical twins and now that they’re older, it’s easier to tell them apart. It’s remarkable how they look more alike than some identical twins when they’re fraternal.
To me, the Olsen twins look really different, but it’s all down to the shape of their eyes. Their faces are still very similar, as is their coloration, but Ashley has very round eyes and Mary-Kate doesn’t.
They are sororal twins, not identical twins, so the fact they looks as similar as they do is a fluke. Genetically, they’re just sisters.
