Katja Herbers is a Dutch actress who lives and works in America. You might have seen her on Westworld or CBS’s Evil or The Americans. Well, last week, she had some thoughts about Taylor Swift’s new romance with football player Travis Kelce. She tweeted:

It was funny and I retweeted it last week, as did thousands of other people. In my opinion, it was not a “diss” on Taylor Swift, but it was a wry observation about the selective obsessions of Taylor Swift’s fans, and how the Snake Fam is, in my estimation, the largest investigative body in the world. If Taylor dated a climate scientist, suddenly Taylor’s legion of fans around the world would care deeply about fossil fuels, green technology, windmills, solar power, hybrid vehicles and conservation.
Well, I don’t know if Olivia Wilde felt the same way, but she ended up posting Herbers’ tweet on her IG Stories. Now there’s a conversation about Olivia was being shady about Taylor’s romance with Travis. Added bonus: Taylor dated Harry Styles, then he dumped Taylor and years later, Harry was the reason why Olivia and Jason Sudeikis split. Anyway, the Swifties were dissecting Olivia’s motives and such, meanwhile Katja Herbers was like “yes, talk about climate science while you’re gossiping!!”

Exactly, Lilly (With the Double-L), THIS! Katja has been protesting for the environment for a long time, and this was both hilarious and wistful. As to OW, eh. As stated, Katja’s tweet was really funny (and relatable to me), so I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt here and not view this as shady.
I think Olivia is petty and ridiculous but not here. This is just a smart, funny comment she is re-sharing and none of it is shady towards Taylor at all.
I guess Olivia needs attention.

Olivia really wants to be part of the conversation. She must have loved the drama surrounding the end of her relationship with Sudekis.
It’s pretty funny that Olivia basically re-tweeted someone else’s quote but everyone is like,” 🙄 Go away Olivia!”
At the same time, the NFL is being really heavy-handed and gross about Taylor and Travis’ relationship. The NFL has been pushing it and (damn near if not literally) advertising it. Katja is right in that all this attention could be focused on something more worthwhile. (And that’s not a diss on Taylor and Travis in any way.)
Having Taylor in the stands is like half-time all the time. As it is, watching football is excruciating with all the blather and commercials (I’m looking at you CBS), now the NFL has found a new way to make money.
And spend it. I mean, they opened the Chiefs vs Jets game with Welcome to New York. Couldn’t have been cheap, especially with the re-release of 1989 looming on the horizon. Scooter Braun’s gotta get that paper while he can.

I’m beginning to think everybody just loves to hate on Olivia the same as they do Gwyneth. She might as well just embrace it and I’m glad if she doesn’t let it stop her from retweeting (re-Xing?) anything she finds funny.
I am unabashedly a Gwyneth fan (because she’s in on the joke and her target audience is thin, rich women who will try anything once) and find Olivia insufferable. She tries way too hard to seem cool and intellectual, and she outright lies (Team Ms Flo!). That alone=not cool/super cringe.

I may also be in the minority opinion here but I don’t even like the original tweet. I just hate the assumption that to enjoy celebrity gossip or be a Swiftie implies that you can’t hold space in your brain to care for other things, like the climate crisis. And I say this as someone who likes Swift’s music and doesn’t like her private jet usage. Liking someone’s work doesn’t mean you have to be an uncritical supporter of everything they do. And look, I didn’t even have to Google climate crisis to understand the tweet.

When you look at her previous boyfriends was there that much interest for them ? Like healy got thrown out so fast because of the snake farm’s intervention, there wasn’t that much interest in Joe or his work (but he’s just not that interesting maybe ?) and then you can also go back further and it’s still pretty mild compared to the sudden interest in american football.
