The only part of Ariana Grande’s chaotic and cockamamie PR I believe this year was the part where she claimed that she and Dalton Gomez had been on the rocks long before she started up with Ethan Slater. The scandalous part of Ariana and Ethan’s adultery was that Ethan’s wife Lilly Jay had no idea, and that Ari and Ethan were going around behind Lilly’s back. Dalton wasn’t around – Ariana had basically already left him, although I’ll also buy the idea that she kept giving him just enough emotional incentive to stick around in case she needed him. In any case, Dalton was also the most quiet of the four people in this toxic situation – he didn’t make a big stink, he didn’t pile on, he didn’t sell his story, he didn’t chat with Page Six. He and Ariana quietly worked through their sh-t, filed for divorce simultaneously, and Dalton is walking away with a seven-figure check for his trouble.
Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez have made quick work out of their divorce, settling up just weeks after they filed to end their marriage. There weren’t a whole lot of contentious issues … there was a prenup, and, as we reported when we broke the story, Ariana cut Dalton a check … and according to the settlement Dalton will receive $1,250,000, tax-free. Dalton is getting the money upfront, so there will be no spousal support.
Dalton will also receive 1/2 of the net proceeds from the sale of their L.A. home. And, Ariana will pay up to $25,000 of Dalton’s attorney’s fees.
A source close to the situation tells us, “There is still a strong mutual love and respect between Ariana and Dalton and they wanted to make sure everything was done right in lockstep with one another.”
The settlement is standard operating procedure for Ariana’s lawyer, disso queen Laura Wasser, who tries — usually successfully — to quickly settle even the most contentious divorces. You’ll recall, she recently settled the bitter divorce between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner.
The settlement has been filed with the court, and all that’s left is for the judge to sign and they will be single again. Ariana is in deep with her newest boo, “Wicked” co-star Ethan Slater, and we’re told Dalton is dating as well. The date of separation on the divorce docs is February 20, but they didn’t file for divorce until last month.
It can be clean-cut like this when there are no kids involved and one spouse feels a bit guilty and wants to write a check so that her ex will be able to land on his feet. As I said before, I wonder who “managed” this for Ariana, because this was the only part of the drama which was handled correctly and efficiently. I guarantee Ari got an NDA attached to the settlement and Dalton would never break it. It’s good that he’s also getting half of the profit from the sale of their home – that will probably be more than his cash settlement, considering the real estate market in LA. I wish Dalton well and I’m sure Ari does too. And yes, she’s moved on. She moved on while she was still married.

She loves being in love. But people like this leave a lot of hurt people behind.
Ariana appears to get fulfilled by acquiring love interests that are recently attached to others and fulfilled by the beginning of a relationship. Once the honeymoon phase wears off, she moves on. To the next guy with a subtle familial resemblance.
Good for Dalton! I wouldn’t be surprised about the NDA, and my guess is that his real estate business is dependent on his discretion with famous clients anyway.

Is it that they love to be in love? Or that they love the high emotions of first meeting someone? The giddiness and butterflies part (and in her case, the secretive don’t-tell-your-SO part). And then once those feelings die down and they’re left with the more normal parts of a relationship it stops being interesting?
I don’t know a ton about Grande but I think there are people who like the drama parts of relationships the most. If they’re not getting big hits of emotions then they start thinking something’s wrong and start looking for something new.
I agree with the poster below who stated that the $1.25M was likely the pre-nup value negotiated up for inflation and the house was the sweetener for the NDA. Also as they were partially based in London (aka the divorce capital of the world) during the marriage that would have worked in Dalton’s favour – especially when you put into context Ariana’s vast fortune.
Also, in regards to Ariana Grande, I have always felt that she likely a very different person in private to the public persona that we see.
Healthy adults tend to attract fellow health adults and vice versa and Ariana Grande has historically dated men with a lot of baggage, substance abuse issues and ongoing challenges with their mental health.
Ariana needs to start actually listening to the lyrics of her own songs and date Ari for a bit and get some serious therapy, because all these highly charged and high profile relationships in quick succession will eventually burn her out (and leave her broke).
I don’t know how much she is worth but how many guys will she have to pay to get out of the relationship especially if she marries them?
Ariana is hella rich. Well north of $250 million so paying off Dalton was not even a drop in her bucket. He also deserved it for keeping it classy when he could have easily played the victim and run to the press.
Well then she can go through a whole lot of men with her love them for a minute then on to the next.
There is a part of me that is quite envious that she can just cut checks left and right, not unlike the many rich men who do the same thing.
Of course I hope she learned her lesson to 1) Stop marrying the men she dates (yes, she’s only married one; I hope that’s lesson enough) and 2) Stop messing around with married or taken men.
Ethan will be alright for about ten minutes too, and then she’ll be gone again.
I hope the money eases some of the hurt. He handled himself well, and hope he is smart with this new money.
The divorce was easy because they’ve only been married for a year and have no kids. Dalton likely wouldn’t get much more than if he went to court. He’s been low key during the marriage so I doubt he’ll be running to tabloids now that it’s over. I kept forgetting Ariana was married.

Read through this twice to see what I was missing. They are both gainfully employed, had a short marriage with a prenup, no children, so how does he walk away with cash upfront, lawyers fees and half of her house? What does she get? Divorced.
She probably gets an NDA signed by him. The money isn’t for the divorce—she’s guaranteeing his silence.
It’s right there in the article- She gets his continued discretion and silence.
Also, it says they had a prenup- The prenup did not necessarily say he gets nothing. The existence of a prenup doesn’t mean the person gets zero, it means the person gets a previously agreed-to amount. Ari’s probably said Starter Husband gets $1 million if they split up in less in five years or something like that. Prenup does not equal zero payout, it just equals “previously agreed-to (and probably smallish) payout…
She gets his silence. That is worth far more than the money she paid. Her reputation is already taking a huge beating and the last thing she needed was her ex to be giving interviews about how he was blindsided

I thought it was reported that Kevin’s ex Christine actually got more in the settlement than what was stated in the prenup. The higher amount was never mentioned publicly as far as I know. I would love to know how much more she got though. LOL

^^ In legal terms this is usually an admission of fault or some other wrong doing.
Dalton has been happily NDA’d to the point where Ariana Grande is giving him half of community property i.e. their Montecito home, which sold for close to $9M exactly 1 year ago, so this seems to support the fact they’ve been apart for quite some time.
This mean that Dalton is potentially walking away with up to £5.75M ($1.25M + 4.5M) for being married for just over 2 years.
This is likely why he has been ‘so quiet’. He has way too much to lose by speaking. I am however going to bet that he will show up on Selling Sunset at some point….
