Scobie: King Charles is ‘unpopular’ & Prince William is ‘power-hungry’

Omid Scobie’s Endgame comes out on November 28, the week after Thanksgiving here in America. I’ve felt, all along, that this book is going to land like an atomic bomb in the palace and royalist media. Royal reporters hate Scobie and the Windsors have tried to cut off his access (to no avail). As I’ve said before, I believe that the rota people are mad that Scobie won’t play their game, he won’t be a stenographer to power, he won’t just report whatever the palace wants him to say. Well, Amazon added a descriptive blurb for the book and the Mail and the palace are shaking. From Amazon:

Endgame, the explosive book from longtime royal journalist Omid Scobie and author of the international blockbuster Finding Freedom, is a penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy—an unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image, and a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family.

Queen Elizabeth II’s death ruptured the already-fractured foundations of the House of Windsor—and dismantled the protective shield around it. With an institution long plagued by antiquated ideas around race, class and money, the monarchy and those who prop it up are now exposed and at odds with a rapidly modernizing world. Relying on his vast experience as a royal reporter and over a decade of conversations and interviews with current and former Palace staff, trusted friends of the royals and even the family members themselves, Scobie pulls back the curtain on an institution in turmoil to show what the monarchy must change in order to survive.

This is the monarchy’s endgame. Do they have what it takes to save it?

[From Amazon]

I love it. I hope Scobie really goes deep into the Windsor rot. “An unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image…” Obsessed!!! Describing Peg as “power-hungry” is interesting too – I think that’s an accurate description, don’t get me wrong, but the impression I always get from William is that while he wants power, clout and importance, he’s too stupid to understand how he should acquire it and too lazy to actually do much of anything. Anyway, the Mail ran a panicked story about the Amazon blurb and added some reporting on how the Windsors are bracing themselves.

Omid Scobie, the unofficial mouthpiece for Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, has launched an astonishing attack on the Royal Family in promotional material for his new book, branding Prince William ‘power-hungry’ and King Charles ‘unpopular’.

A source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘I’ve been told this is bad, very bad. It is unlikely that Royal aides will comment, but if there are charges of racism, they will, of course, be robustly rebutted.’

Endgame, published on November 28, is likely to cause further disquiet at Buckingham Palace. It is unknown whether the Sussexes had any input this time, although the author boasts that he interviewed family members.

The Mail on Sunday has learned that the book will be serialised in a major US magazine, but not in the UK. A publishing source in America said: ‘The word is this is going to have bombshell after bombshell. Some are even speculating it may name the person who questioned what colour Archie’s skin would be. Everyone knows Omid is the Sussexes’ unofficial mouthpiece, so it’s fair to say there will be a huge deal of interest in this book on both sides of the Atlantic.’

[From The Daily Mail]

Oh, I wonder where the book will be serialized? People Magazine, maybe? People Mag got an exclusive look at Britney’s memoir, only they got burned when TMZ broke the story about Britney’s abortion. Maybe Vanity Fair? Omid is still the royal editor at large for Harper’s Bazaar, although I don’t think Bazaar would get the exclusive rights to serialize? Hm. As for “a publishing source in America” calling Scobie “the Sussexes’ unofficial mouthpiece,” that means a British person who works at an American publisher. Americans don’t see “a journalist treating the Sussexes fairly” as “working as the Sussexes’ unofficial mouthpiece.” That being said, I genuinely hope that the Sussexes did talk to Scobie. The whole thing about “did Meghan and Harry talk to Scobie for Finding Freedom” was ridiculously stupid – it’s not against the law to speak on or off the record to your biographer, for the love of God. The other Windsors do it all the time. Anyway, I hope the courtiers are sh-tting themselves!

  1. Omid will need to lay low if he is indeed spilling the tea. That little blurb is pretty good. Chuckles is weak and Peg is power hungry. I hope Omid doesn’t hold back and just lets it flow. Things will be getting good!

    • SussexWatcher says:

I genuinely hope he has some security. The Sussex car chase in NYC seemed like a hit gone wrong so I don’t think they’d hesitate to harm Omid if they could.

      • You’re right!! He will need security. I hope he is able to be protected.

      • Lorelei says:

I love how the article says that, “it is unlikely palace aides will respond”… when it was most certainly *a palace aide* who gave that comment for the damn article in the first place!

Do these people think that anyone still believes that the palace isn’t the source for like 90% of the crap that’s published? And yeah, it all goes through aides. So they constantly comment. (In fact, they never shut up, IMO.)

But I guess if it makes them feel important to act as if they’re above such things, sure, have at it. Idiots 🫠

    • ELX says:

Wouldn’t be surprised if Omid shakes the salt spray of that tiny island from his heels as he departs for the US or elsewhere. He’s about to make f-u money.

  2. BizzatchExtrordinaire says:

I am SO READY for this book. Pre-ordered!!!

  3. CatMum says:

the Fail has been claiming that Omid speaks for the Sussexes for years now.

Charles is unpopular and William is power mad.

I’m looking forward to this book coming out! I’ll bring the biccies, Omid can bring the tea.

    • Josephine says:

I don’t see Will as power hungry. He just seems too lazy to seek out anything at all. I figured he will be like his dad, kinda do nothing and wait for a parent’s death. At least chuckles had hobbies and those trips for cash. Will can’t seem to even muster that.

      • Kara C. says:

Charles didn’t just “wait for a parent’s death.” He actively built his own separate court and actively tried to wrest power from Queen Elizabeth II’s court at Buckingham Palace. By the time she’d passed on, he’d succeeded in doing so by teaming up with Prince Andrew to push out her private secretary, Sir Christopher Geidt, and replacing him with Sir Edward Young, who was more willing to do his–and even Andrew’s–bidding.

Then, Charles quickly replaced him with his own personal secretary, Sir Clive Alderton, once he was king.

Charles has likely been the de facto head of Buckingham Palace and the Duchy of Cornwall for nearly a decade.

      • Kara C. says:

Mistake: Charles has had control of the Duchy of Cornwall since he came of age. I meant to write that he’s had control of the *Duchy of Lancaster* for nearly a decade.

      • Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

@ Kara C. and has bungled it every step of the way!

      • Kara C. says:

        @ Harla A Brazen Hussy – Totally.

Well, the BRF is f@#$ed. The Duchy of Lancaster is probably boosted with some sketchy Saudi cash for the next three generations, though.

      • Lara (the other) says:

While Charles is a terrible parent and the head of a racist organisation that should be abolished, he wasn’t lazy. With the princes trust and the organisation of the duchy he actually did a lot of good and impactful work arund better chances for underprivileged youth and organic farming.
He is entitled, structurally racist, a terrible egocentrical person etc., but I wouldn’t consider him lazy.
Bulliam has all his bad traits and is lazy.

    • Lorelei says:

“Sussex mouthpiece” has been their go-to “insult” about Omid for ages now, and it’s never been true, so it’s just so stupid. At the beginning, the other RRs were jealous that H&M gave him even a shred of access (and that was only because he — GASP! — covered them fairly, the same as he did all of the other royals).

Once FF came out, then the Sussexes left and the shit basically hit the fan in every way possible, they’ve stuck with this inane nickname because I guess they think it’s a super clever insult?

IIRC, it was literally proven in court documents that Omid was dealing with Jason while fact-gathering for FF, and not Meghan herself, but that pesky fact hasn’t stopped them from continuing to refer to him as her “mouthpiece.”

More concerning to me is the amount of online abuse heaped on Scobie CONSTANTLY. He handles it well, but that crap has got to take a toll after this long. It’s relentless.

      • kirk says:

April 19, 2020: H-M tell 4 brittabs (Sun, Fail, Mirror, Express) they will no longer truck with them. Since Fail can’t get them to take their calls, they have to smear those whose calls are taken by H-M and Archewell.

      • Christine says:

That family and the rota have effectively put it out in the world that Omid Scobie is a “mouthpiece”, “friend”, “biographer”, etc.

They are working overtime to make sure no one notices that Omid Scobie is the only reporter in England that tells the truth about the royal family, while completely glossing over Spare, because it was clear from Spare that England is a shit show.

Sincerely, Salty Isle, you are now waging a hate campaign against the only reporter who has told the truth. We are all watching, and we see you.

  4. Em says:

He’s right on all counts, I just saw that courtiers were using artificial intelligence to track comments about Charles during this Kenyan tour and William gets positively engorged whenever people pay him attention in public

  5. Amy Bee says:

The blurb is intriguing. My guess is that the US publication is People Magazine.

  6. Becks1 says:

ooohhh this is gonna be good!!! it sounds like the windsors are already scared of it.

LOL at “unofficial mouthpiece.” Sure Jan.

  7. Tontonbouk says:

Scobie put the nail to the rotten coffin. Should I get it the hardcopy or the ebook ? Decision, decision. Maybe I will get both formats as I did with Spare. I am still waking up to Spare every morning. Hum, I am addicted to PH voice.

  8. ML says:

“…the book will be serialised in a major US magazine…”
Hmm, the “power-hungry heir” has been trying to win over [*gasps of laughter*] America. I wonder how happy he’s going to be with this?
Omid has taken aim at KC (unpopular), PW (power-hungry), and QCC (will go to dangerous lengths to protect her image). Where’s Kate?

    • Miranda says:

I think the fact of the matter is that Kate is irrelevant in all this. And I’ll bet that just kills her.

      • SueBarbri33 says:

This. Not mentioning Kate is perfect. Normal people would be glad not to be in his cross-hairs, but Kate is going to meltdown because her position is so shaky.

    • Anna says:

That’s actually really interesting. Is Kate such a non entity within the institution that she’s not worth bringing up? Or does Omid have something to say about her position being more tenuous than we thought?

    • Ash says:

      Who’s Kate?

She’s a non factor, a nobody, she’s served her purpose. She’s nothing but a mannequin who wears and does whatever courtiers want. She’s a mute woman.

    • BlueNailsBetty says:

Kate is the Ken of the royal family.

    • Jaded says:

I think Scobie knows Kate’s on the chopping block and has become somewhat of a pariah in the BaRF. Even though she’s shown what a cold, calculating harpy she can be, especially as regards the Sussexes, she’s on her way out and the less said about it the better.

  9. Shawna says:

Not serializing in the UK press! Love this for them.

  10. Anna says:

I thought “Finding Freedom” was a bit of a snooze, but I enjoyed Omid’s columns at Yahoo. While the new blurb screams THE TEA IS HOT, I’m going to wait out the reviews and serialisations, just to be safe.

Even if the book proves more lukewarm than it’s marketing promises (whoever wrote the blurb deserves a raise gdam), it’ll be entertaining enough watching the BM and BRF create more chaos trying to disprove any of it.

    • SarahCS says:

I didn’t read FF as all the discussion here gave me what I wanted from it but I have pre-ordered this one as I’m happy to be a part of his sales figures and advance the conversation about how long the monarchy has left.

    • Lorelei says:

I want to support Omid, so I’ll buy it even though pretty much everything will likely be revealed online anyway. I pre-ordered the audio version, but might buy a hard copy at some point. He’s been brave in the face of relentless hate, so I don’t mind actually shelling out for his book.

(When it comes to the neverending parade of books published by royal “experts,” I always rely solely on whatever is covered here or on Twitter or whatever because I don’t want to give those people even one slim dime of my $!)

    • Where'sMyTiara says:

Not only chaos from the BM and BRF, but we get to watch them tell on themselves for a straight month. By the time they’ve completed their latest own-goal public humiliation, it’ll be time for them all to pivot to “Will he/won’t he” come to Sandringham for Xmas (or wherever Chucky & Bride of Chucky have decided to decamp for the holidays).

  11. Jais says:

Here for it. Can’t wait. It’s nice just to get a book about the monarchy that isn’t from a sycophantic perspective. It makes me think of tina brown’s book, which ended up showing her more as a royalist than a journalist. She just couldn’t get out of that tabloid narrative mindset. So many books are written about the monarchy and it’s good that there will be one that’s actually truly critical.

  12. Jan says:

Why would the Sussexes share info with Omid, when they can write their own books.

    • Haylie says:

Exactly. Not to mention the Rota lies pushed in Finding Freedom.

    • Kara C. says:

They don’t. The Daily Mail and other publications just keep repeating this line over and over again as propaganda for the British royal family until a significant portion of people in the UK believe it to be true. It doesn’t matter whether it is or not, or whether or not, only that people *believe* in it. As long as people believe in it, they can always deflect any journalism Omid Scobie does with, “That information can’t be trusted because all of Omid’s information comes from a biased source with an agenda.”

    • Belli says:

Scobie didn’t abuse Meghan in the press, therefore he must be her secret confidant. That’s the rota reasoning.

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

It’s projection on the part of the tabloid press. They want to accuse Omid of doing what they themselves are doing w/ the rest of the BRF.

  13. Ash says:

Is this why the Windsors have been posing with so many Black people lately? They’re gonna get exactly what’s coming for their racist selves.

  14. Eurydice says:

The understanding with which William has been raised is that power comes automatically with heredity, so he doesn’t have to do anything else. To me, it’s not so much that he’s power hungry, but that he wants to be loved the most. I supposed that’s a type of power – in today’s world, celebrity is power.

    • Jais says:

      Maybe popularity-hungry?

      • Eurydice says:

Yes, because it seems the motivation for his actions is jealousy that someone will be more popular than he is – the same as with Charles.

    • Becks1 says:

I think he is power hungry within the family. He knows he’s going to be king, and then he’ll be “in charge” but for the last 40 years of his life he’s had to answer to his grandmother and father in a way most people don’t have to especially as they become adults etc. QEII was the head of the family and everyone did what she wanted and I think he wants that same power.

      • Eurydice says:

Yes, that makes sense. Maybe a combo of the two – power hungry within the family and desperate to be loved and adored by the people outside?

But he seems to have done pretty well with exerting power despite answering to Liz and Charles – he’s managed to squash his brother most of his life and then get him kicked out, he’s managed to work as little as possible, to amass multiple homes and now, to sideline his wife on the way to kicking her out, too. Charles has tried tugging on the leash a little (making Will drive Andrew to church), but there don’t seem to be too many obstacles in his way.

    • SussexWatcher says:

I’d say he’s definitely power hungry! Remember the stories of him as a child saying that when he became king he’d have them (whoever he was fighting with) thrown into the Tower or he’d reinstate his mother’s HRH?

He wants the ultimate power because – in that family – being at the top (supposedly) comes with all the other perks – being beloved, being in control of the rest of the family’s fates and fortunes, doing and spending what you want, committing crimes without punishment, etc. He doesn’t realize that his mother (or Harry even) was loved because of who she was, not because of her title. Or that the queen was beloved because people thought of her like their granny. He’s stupid and shortsighted and definitely power hungry.

    • Alexandria says:

If he wasn’t power hungry HM wouldn’t have left in the first place. Please see the men Pegs surrounds himself with. Those men undermine HM with every step and they want to harm HM. If he wasn’t power hungry, HM would be his allies and supporters against CC. They’re not.

    • Nic919 says:

William wanted to control his brother’s life which is not something a normal brother would be doing. Even Charles wasn’t telling Andrew who to date or marry when he was prince of wales. (The Epstein stuff is different because it is criminal so the repercussions were more than just someone’s personal life)

Harry is smart to have left when he did because Charles and William even more would have tried to prevent him from leaving with any financial independence.

    • Harper says:

First and foremost he’s lazy and secondly he is jealous. He wasn’t power hungry at all until Meghan showed up. Harry was out there dancing in the Commonwealth streets, glad-handing all the UK peasants and Willy just shrugged and continued to turn his nose up at doing his own royal engagements. Better him than me.

It was only when Meghan showed up and got positive attention that he became power hungry. Specifically when she went all out for the Grenfell victims, a cause that William had paid lip service to, promised to return to and help, but never did. He saw it as showing him up on his territory, not understanding protocol, and he went attack dog. And once Meghan continued to do good works in so many different pockets of her charity world, obviously worlds that the Keens had dabbled in but suddenly considered theirs, Meghan had to go. If he wasn’t so lazy and jealous he wouldn’t have gone nuclear about someone else doing the work. It’s possible Scobie will call him out for both traits in the book; the Amazon blurb isn’t much to go on.

      • Kara C. says:

I think you have a point here. I think William just assumed he had power before Meghan showed up; I just don’t think he realized he’d have to *do anything* to have or *maintain* power before that.

He seemed to realize that Prince Harry was more popular, and it obviously bothered him given the way he acted during interviews with Harry, but Harry took so little in return for doing more of the heavy lifting. Prince William got married and was given a new title and two huge houses, and Prince Harry remained living with their father, then got a tiny apartment, then got a little cottage.

I’m not sure William ever considered what would happen if Harry got married at all, let alone to someone as charismatic and work/service-oriented as Meghan. There would’ve been a boost in Harry’s popularity even if he’d married some lazy blonde from the aristocratic scene, and he’d always have been given a dukedom. Even that scenario would’ve required William and Kate to at least step up for a year or two, as The Firm would’ve tried to sell them as a dynamic duo. They’d both have had to work more, and their office/household expenditures would have had to take a cut to make room for Harry and his new wife.

I don’t think he ever planned for that, and he certainly never planned for Meghan.

The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust being launched with Harry as president, and then Meghan being given the vice-presidency after marriage, was most certainly meant as an insult to William and Kate for being lazy.

At least one of Harry’s military appointments–Captain General of the Royal Marines–was at least meant to honor him over William, as it was passed down from Prince Philip directly to Prince Harry in 2017, but I don’t know if William thought about that.

I think Prince William and Kate were always “concerned” about Meghan because they’re racists and–despite William’s new ‘rebranding thing’–anti-American, started caring during the Australia/New Zealand tour. That’s when they became worried that The Firm–the actual *business* behind the BRF–may start to sell them out for the “Harry and Meghan” brand.

      • aftershocks says:

@Kara C., I doubt the QCT creation, in 2016 (prior to H&M meeting) was meant to ‘insult lazy W&K.’ My take is that the firm aggressively persuaded Harry to retire from the military in 2015. He had a sit-down with the Queen, to iron out the fact that he needed something significant to do if he was going to stay with the firm, as he actually wanted to make a career in the military, where he felt comfortable and accepted for himself. The Queen enlisted Sir Christopher Geidt, and he helped come up with the QCT idea and creation, aided by Prince Harry. Later, Harry told the media he retired from the military to avoid the next required step of taking on a boring desk job, and because of his pressing royal duties (I think the former reasoning was for p.r. purposes).

It was always intended that Harry would take on the presidency helm at QCT. It made sense for Meghan to receive the VP role, as his spouse, and with her credentials. Willy is always pissed about anything and everything Harry earns. But it was Harry also being given the honorary title of Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, which really triggered ‘incandescent’ Peg. 🙄

As far as Willy not having thought about Harry marrying, refer to what Harry said in Spare regarding WanK repeatedly informing him that they ‘liked’ Cressida. 😏

    • Kara C. says:

I’m with Becks1, SusssexWatcher, and Alexandria here. Prince William is obviously power hungry because he’s surrounding himself with Tories and right-wing media moguls.

A guy who “just wants to be loved” doesn’t physically attack his brother. He doesn’t scream and shout at his brother (we have Harry’s firsthand account of this) and father (there were only rumors of this, but after “Spare”, they’re believable) in meetings. Those are aggressive moves. Those are power moves.

He also does things to undermine people in passive-aggressive ways, which are also power moves that he uses to undermine people around him. One fine example is that he showed up late to his own father’s coronation almost 10 minutes late, and no one can convince me that was an accident. He absolutely knew it would throw his father into a fit and knock him off-kilter but that the media wouldn’t dare blame an heir to the throne for the mistake. It’s probably the only power move I’ve seen William make that didn’t end up backfiring on him in some way.

      • Eurydice says:

I said “he wants to be loved the most” – that means putting down anyone who gets more love and/or attention than he does.

      • Jaded says:

Agree. And William is a classic example of arrested emotional development, i.e. he throws tantrums, yells and shouts, gets physically violent and acts like a temperamental toddler to get his way and achieve power instead of working through problems and issues cooperatively. His only way of dealing with people is by manipulating them, terrorizing them and insisting on ‘my way or the highway’. That is his only means of wielding the power he was born with, not the power he legitimately earned.

  15. Steph says:

This is the second publication that puts the blame of Harry and Meghan leaving directly on the Windsors.

  16. SussexWatcher says:

I’m sure he didn’t write that blurb, but wow, is it yummy!! An unpopular king? Power hungry heir? A queen going to dangerous lengths?

We’ve all known this for years but I’m happy to see this family getting called out more and more. I hope the book is a huge success and Omid has a good security team.

  17. Brassy Rebel says:

That blurb is 💯 accurate. And do either the Sussexes or Scobie know that he is their “mouthpiece”? If you’re not a Windsor mouthpiece, you must be a Sussex sycophant, I guess.

  18. Jensa says:

Yep, PW is power hungry alright. He thinks he is owed the status of “global statesman” simply due to accident of birth, and doesn’t understand that he has to work to win the respect of the people he wants to impress. (And achieve stuff. Which he also hasn’t done.)
This explains why he is so desperate to break the US (he wants photo ops of him relaxing with presidents etc. – like Harry), and why he was hanging about outside the UN desperately hoping for an invite. He’s a colossal embarrassment. And while I’m no fan of Charles, PW will be a far worse king IMO.

    • SussexWatcher says:

Yes! Well said about the global statesman part.

    • Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

I agree Jensa, PW is power hungry but he expects to get the power simply because of “who” he is, not through any effort or work on his part. I also completely agree that PW will be a terrible king and because of that, will likely be the last reigning monarch of the UK.

  19. Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

My tin-foil tiara theory is, that while yes, PW wants power and glory I also believe that he would be perfectly content if the monarchy was abolished, that way he could have all the perks without any of those pesky responsibilities.

    • anna says:

I used to believe that, but his jealousy over Harry has William throwing all the pillows in his many houses because he assumed the prestige of the title would come with the respect and the power. Harry proved it does not. William’s whole worldview is collapsing around him, and he hasn’t handled it well since.

  20. Flowerlake says:

Elizabeth I didn’t appoint an heir, because she knew the heir would become restless and power hungry until perhaps her deathbed (perhaps because it suited the incoming king to have that believed, and it is not 100% sure she actually did).

There was talk of Charles taking over as the second Elizabeth grew older. Now there is this talk not long after he is in power.

The first Bess was very wise.

    • aftershocks says:

Queen Elizabeth I, the ‘Virgin’ Queen obtained her wisdom and her smarts through surviving the reign of her despotic, power-wielding, ‘son and heir driven’, murderous father, King Henry VIII. 👀

  21. @BelizeEmpower says:

This part “a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family.” Explosive!

    • aftershocks says:

Omid is a fair, hard-working journalist with integrity. He’s learned a lot, the hard way. He tried to stay neutral and walk a fine line as a royal reporter, until he realized that holding back and being overly cautious wasn’t cutting it. He had been used and lied to by Knauf and KP post Carolyn Durand asking him to collaborate with her on a book about the Sussexes, in 2018. That book’s focus changed and the title became Finding Freedom out of necessity, after Sussexit happened in January 2020. Durand’s involvement, KP’s lies, and pressure from the publisher to get the book out quickly post Sussexit, made FF not as good as anticipated.

Omid’s solo effort should be much better. And it definitely benefits from Harry’s Spare having already revealed so much. ✨️

      • Nic919 says:

It remains so weird that Durand did no promotion for Finding Freedom. What isn’t a surprise is that she let Omid get attacked by the anti Sussex factions, even knowing that Knauf provided them with any info they had and there was nothing direct from H and M.

      • aftershocks says:

Carolyn Durand did appear for at least one remote interview, with Omid in a separate remote location, to promote FF. Still, Omid did most of the talking on that occasion, as well as going solo with the bulk of promo events. Durand’s murky overall role in the project, and her possible knowledge of KP’s nefarious dealings BTS, is in question.

The house of Windsor is falling about your bloody great ears and all you care about is your tampax wearing tart, your doooooooooomed!, oh and William is a wanker, just like I told you years ago.

  23. aquarius64 says:

Hoping Scobie will go into the Rose affair. Throw in the Markles being hired as useful idiots for the Firm and BM to be part of the smear campaign against Meghan.

I don’t think he will touch anything directly relating to Rose except perhaps the media coverage. Unless he has direct evidence of anything, which is doubtful, there will be lawyers shaking down any reference to that affair.

“Everyone knows Omid is the Sussexes’ unofficial mouthpiece, so it’s fair to say there will be a huge deal of interest in this book on both sides of the Atlantic.’”

    O

So…….what theyre saying is, a book that promises to reveal “bombshell after bombshell” about one of the longest surviving monarchies in the world, will only have “a huge deal of interest ……. on both sides of the Atlantic” because its written by……. someone…something…..the Sussexes. Yeah?

Have I got that right? LOL

These f*ckers. Theyre always telling on themselves.

  25. QuiteContrary says:

“… a queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image.”

This is going to be GOOD.

    • JEB says:

Yes, please tell me all the dangerous lengths she’s gone it/is going to. Dangerous is such an ominous word!

  26. Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

“But if there are charges of racism , they will, of course, be robustly rebutted”. My question is, how exactly will the palaces “robustly rebutt” charges of racism?

    • Kingston says:

I had to LOL at this zinger. Its so on brand for racists to squeal loudly at being CALLED racist, instead of being mortified/ashamed/repentant about the racism they displayed.

    • Roo says:

Their Diversity Czar will speak up and rebut those allegations…oh, wait…

  27. J.Ferber says:

I love Omid. He’s also very good-looking, in my opinion.

  28. Jensa says:

I see (from the Mail, who are frothing at the mouth about it) that there will be a chapter in this book titled “Race and the Royals: Institutional Bigotry and Denial”. This could be good. And I imagine they’re in panic mode at BP and KP.
    Oh well.

  29. advisor2u says:

One important correction, of a mistake everybody – not only the rags, gossip mags, jealous rota rats and royal experts – but also people here and the general royal watchers, seem te make: Finding Freedom IS NOT a biography, let alone a hagiography, as the bulling, envying so-called journos call it.

It is described by the publisher Harper Collins ánd the authors as ”A portrait”, a royal book/royal portrait maybe, never as a biography.

    Per the publisher Harper Collins:
“The first, epic and true story of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s life together, finally revealing why they chose to pursue a more independent path and the reasons behind their unprecedented decision to step away from their royal lives, from two top royal reporters who have been behind the scenes since the couple first met. Finding Freedom is complete with full color photographs from Harry and Meghan’s courtship, wedding, Archie’s milestones, and many more unforgettable moments.

…. “With unique access and written with the participation of those closest to the couple, Finding Freedom is an honest, up-close, and disarming portrait of a confident, influential, and forward-thinking couple who are unafraid to break with tradition, determined to create a new path away from the spotlight, and dedicated to building a humanitarian legacy that will make a profound difference in the world.”

  30. Cali says:

I’m thinking that Endgame is going to be full of lots of Easter Eggs.
The Firm has been going to great lengths to tell the world that no one is talking to H and M. So they can’t be the sources for anything that’s happened since they left.
So the guessing game will be about who spilled on recent events? Charles and Camilla will be behind some leaks. William’s minions will have their stories out there. And Kate (I mean Carole) will have their own slant.
There will be a lot of guessing about who could have had both knowledge about something and an interest in disclosing. A lot of information about recent events are things the Sussexes know nothing about….so then the question becomes who knew and why are they disclosing it.
I think the analysis of who and why will be even more interesting than the book itself.

  31. Eliora says:

And we will be seated for Omid’s book.

Oh and the Windsors are racist. The panick only confirms what almost everyone already knows.

  32. Kingston says:

    @Jensa

Oooooohhhhhh…….that chaptet sounds like it’s gonna be packed with bombshells……..Gen Z will get a ringside seat to who the windsors really are and they’ll be able to put current developments in context.

It’s no wonder “them over there” (as Tyler Perry dismissed them) are quailing.

  33. Shoe says:

Will wants popularity, not power. He wants people to admire him, and offer to do nice things for him because he’s a prince and he thinks he deserves it. Power implies having responsibility. Why should he have to think about anything? That would be like, work.

  34. AC says:

Agree with @harper above , and I have also mentioned this before- It seems W’s envy and jealousy didn’t escalate until M came into the picture. It seems with that, his hunger for power grew. The last 100 pages of Spare, I felt he acted drastically crazy. Even H felt their fights/arguments were different than before.
Amazon’s description of Omid’s book- is actually really good 😀. Well, the truth will always come out sooner or later.

  35. Rea says:

He looks young…he should publish a book on self care to look young. I thought he was younger than what he really is. I might read the book later because at this point in time it feels like too with W&K. Though we rarely hear of them doing actual work their involved in way too much drama that is interesting but also a bit tiring to keep up with. So I might just take a break and read the reviews instead.
