Jessica Simpson has had a surprising week. We found out that she’s been quietly dating Billy Corgan for an unknown amount of time, and that her friends are really tired of each new boyfriend being “the one”. A day later, we learned that Jessica’s dad at been tweeting about Billy, writing “My friend, Billy Corgan, has a pure and enlightening outlook on faith.” So… yeah, my guess is that daddy set her up with his friend Billy. Much like a pimp would. Shiver. In any case, Jessica and Billy are “taking it slow”.
Perhaps one of the reasons Jessica isn’t eager to jump into a hardcore relationship with Billy is because she still has feeling for or about her ex Tony Romo. In Touch is reporting that Jessica recently found out that Romo’s new girlfriend, 33-year-old Candice Crawford, was seen wearing a ring:
Jessica Simpson “nearly fainted” when she found out Candice was wearing a diamond band, given to Candice by Romo. Although Jessica has “moved on with her life,” a pal says that she’s been following every detail about Candice and Tony’s romance. And Jessica fears the worst about Candice’s new bling.
“She doesn’t know what it means. Is it some sort of commitment ring that Tony gave to Candice? Jessica is bracing herself for the day that they get engaged. Jessica’s only hope is that she’ll have a boyfriend – or better yet, a husband – by then. But it really hurts, because she believed that she was the one who would be marrying Tony. It has to be breaking her heart.”
Gossip around Dallas is that “Candice really like Tony, but she has been very quiet about their relationship from the beginning. I’m sure he likes that, especially after how public things were between him and Jessica… Candice has kept her coworkers guessing about the ring too!”

Meh. Isn’t it pretty standard after a difficult breakup to spend some time obsessing over the new girlfriend? I’ve done my fair share of that. What does she have that I don’t? Does he love her? Does he love her more than he loved me? Et cetera. I mean, I get that the tabloids love to portray Jessica as a sad sack (which she very well may be), but I don’t really think there’s anything too scandalous about this. Plus, she’s got Billy now! Ugh.

I feel bad for the girl, but honestly, she needs to get over the whole Romo deal, because he “ain’t all that”.

Sheesh, her father is her own worst enemy when it comes to her private life, isn’t he?
If she finds “the one” good for her. But I think she’d be one of those girls well served to be on her own for a while, and not build her entire life around a man. It seems like that’s the only thing she focuses on, and when it doesn’t work out she has nothing. A little independence would do her good.
Firestarter, I agree. He sounds like a jerk, she should be glad it’s over. I know that’s easier said than done, but hopefully someday soon she can look back and see that.

I like Jessica, and I like Billy, but I don’t feel they work together. They both need different things, and Jessica needs heavy commitment. Once again she’s looking in all the wrong places for boyfriends.
At my age, I would be thrilled to be dating Billy Corgan, because I know his music and he’s interesting. So, this is another one of her father’s hookups. Her dad would do better getting her to go to college than dating “older men” to become more worldly. (P.S. I met Jessica for two seconds on a plane. She was with Ken Paves and impressed me as very kind-hearted.)
I believe she’s dippy, but I thought she was still stuck on Mayer, not Romo.
I think these stories are all interchangeable, like those Barbie fashion designer things where you stick different plates in for head, tops, bottoms, then put a piece of paper over them and rub crayon on it until, voila! You’re a fashion designer!
Let’s see, we need an actress/singer and a guy she’s hooked up with and some random piece of information about a meddling person. See, it even can be used for a Brangelina story!
Maybe if Jessica’s dad went off to Siberia for a year or two, his daughter might actually find someone who’ll give her a healthy relationship.
I used to pity Jessica now I just dislike her. She doesn’t want to be happy, she wants someone else famous. He’ll bragged to his friends about how he bagged her and her huge boobies. Jess probably thought Nick was going to run back to her. Nick would rather stay on the D-list with his under-employed girlfriend Vanessa than go back to Jess. Ouch! There must be more to that divorce than we know. She may not be as harmless as everyone thinks.

Well, I wonder how she’ll change herself to fit this guy? She always does that. She barely knows who she is, so she changes herself to fit whatever guy she’s with (model wife with Nick, intellectual brunette for Mayer, football fangirl for Romo)… so typical and so very, very sad. She’ll never be happy.
This girl needs to stay single for a long while until she figures out who she is and what she really wants. Otherwise, she’ll continue to make stupid choices and end up in a string of bad relationships.
What is her damage? She wants to be an actress, but goes out 24/7 and dates instead of studying scripts, networking, and getting lessons.

This is the first “cool” boyfriend Jessica has ever had.
From the wording, doesn’t it sound like the pal spilling the beans to In Touch is a pal of the quarterback and his “quiet” GF? It wouldn’t be surprising if any professional athlete who idolized and partied with Tiger might now be running for all kinds of cover. Companies paying millions in endorsements can’t be happy with everything that’s surfaced in the past 2 weeks.
I don’t know if Billy is the type of person who will be comfortable with all the attention dating Jessica is going to bring.
Poor Romo…Jessica, aka “a pal”, is still leaking stories about his private life and it’s been months since he broke up with her.
Is Jessica hoping to gain public sympathy with this story? It is making me sympathetic…to Romo and Candice, who appear to want to keep their private life private, for having to put up with Jessica and her camp dragging them into the tabloids to feed her addiction for publicity.

I think this source is definatley a ROMO crawford source that need to feel stille relevant in Jess’s life.. The only way ROMO & Crawford get mentioned much if if attached to Jessica.
Candice is not so innocent & not so quiet but she is part of the media for Dallas so therefore is given more privacy. Candice parties with the best of them just like her brother & ROMO. To think otherwise you are nieve.

Jeez, all the Jessica hate. What has she done that’s really mean to earn all this? She dates a lot, gets dumped a lot, is not Mensa but not mentally incompetent, her weight goes up and down, she has a big arsehole of a father, she’s supportive of her sister, as far as I know, she’s never come out and said bad things about someone. She’s never stolen a man from someone, deliberately faked interest in something to get attention, she fairly quietly has her own business that’s doing quite well.. I just don’t get it. Oh, maybe it’s the orange tan she has sometimes. Or her appalling choices in clothing.
And yet there’s this big well of dislike and apparently among some, hatred. She must be pining over Nick because.. oh, I can’t even think of a reason why. Because he’s only dated one person since they broke up?

When I was in high school– maybe 6, 7 years ago– I came across a webcomic called “Billy the Egomaniac”. It was a tribute to Billy Corgan and “Johnny the Homicidal Maniac” by Jhonen Vasquez. I don’t know if it’s still up, but I remember it was freakin’ hilarious.
I think she is so pretty, although she needs to watch her weight. It seems to me she wants to find a husband and have kids just like her sister. I hope she’s gets lucky this year.
